Pay No Attention to the Ginned-Up Faux Outrage Over Jason Aldean’s Song

By Peter Elias

OK Shannon Watts, now do ANTIFA, BLM, and a lot of rap music. You know, since you’re so concerned with violence and all. No? Why not? Because you are a bunch of virtue signaling, identity politics-playing, phony cowards, that’s why. It’s amazing how decades of violence in other music and media create no expressions of deep concern from you and your mentally ill, politically slanted ilk.

Movies and video games? No. Violence against women? Nope. Burning down cities? Nuh uh. Violent attacks against people during “mostly peaceful” protests? Perish the thought. You remained radio silent during all of it as did the rest of the “elite” left.

All of the faux outrage and frenzied claims that Aldean’s song incites violence just reveals the hysterical anti-gun left as being amazingly fragile and surprisingly weak. I’ll give them credit for at least knowing where their funding comes from and being smart enough not to bite that hand feeding them.

The radical anti-gun left in this country continually pushes against those of us who take our Constitutionally protected freedoms seriously. And they’ve expanded their remit over the last few years, accusing anyone to the right of Bernie Sanders of being irredeemably heteronormative white supremacists and aspiring child killers, if not worse.

But when they encounter even the slightest pushback — in this case one relatively obscure country music song that’s been out for almost two months —  they dutifully fall into a predictable performative panic and apoplexy. The reaction to Jason Aldean’s song is a perfect illustration of this phenomenon, but it’s not the only one.

And just remember…the Streisand Effect is real.

The reaction to this whole kerfuffle on both sides should be a wakeup call and an inspiration to those who believe in freedom, the Constitution, and the values that made this country great. The other side can’t stand any opposition and reacts to it like vampires in sunlight. They have no response to unapologetic people who refuse to cower before the likes of Shannon Watts et al. when something like the lyrics of “Try that in a Small Town” are heard.

Country Music Television pulled Aldean’s video and is now facing a backlash as a result, just like other companies that failed to understand their customer base. Ask Bud Light what forgetting who buys their products has done to their business.

In the end this should provide those of us who value our gun (and other) rights with inspiration for more of the same. It should inspire us stand up and defend our rights when they’re challenged, no matter how unhinged the other side becomes or how many corporate media outlets echo them. As they’ve made perfectly clear, they simply can’t take it when we do.

Standing up to them, presenting facts, refuting their lies, and flipping their own arguments back on them is like garlic to these hoplophobic blood-suckers. There is nothing wrong with wanting to keep your home, your friends, your family, your town, your state, and your country safe and there’s nothing wrong with saying so, as Aldean did in his song.

Don’t be afraid to say it yourself. Violence is not needed to make the point, but neither should violence from the other side be tolerated. Yes, you may be short a few Christmas cards in December by making your views known, but you also might gain a few more than you lose.

I think I’m going to mow my lawn and listen to some music.

    • This reminds me of what the democrats created in the 1990s.
The Parents Music Resource Center. Created by Tipper Gore, wife of the Democrat Vice President of the United States, Al Gore under Bill Clinton.

The Democrat party has always been the party of censorship in the United States.

And I remember when these leftist anti-civil rights music artists, attacked Walmart. Because Walmart sells guns. And Walmart in turn, put “adult only” music labeling on the artists records. Its a ptivate business.
They can do what they want.

The complaints from the liberal censors were never-ending at that point.
I enjoyed drinking their liberal tears.

      The law of unintended consequences.

      • And boy did Dee Snyder rip Al and Tipper Gore a new one. Hint, research your opponent in more detail than a cursory glance.

    • Me too. But please don’t call them liberals. Marxists have commandeered the language and stolen the word rebranding it. Jefferson, Madison, Franklin etc are true liberals. Those which you talk about are Leftists/Marxists. We are not “The Right.” We are Constitutionalists which means we are balanced at the center and the others are skewed off center. The left-right delusion is the dualistic polarizing plan of the Marxist conflict theorists (Gramsci, Mercuse, etc). Pass this around. We need to come from the center, not a polarity. Not to do so empowers the Marxists. A polarity gives a sense of equality to two opposing sides. Marxism is not and has never been equal to a Constitutional Republic. Pass this on.

      • When “liberals” like you start standing up in public, for conservative actors, singers, conservative athletes. You let me know.

Historically “liberals” Are full of sh!t.

  1. I was just thinking last night that the reaction to the song is so hypocritical when considering the violent lyrics found in rap songs, which includes but is not limited to violence against women including rape, gang slayings, guns, killing police officers and so on. There are occasional protests heard about rap music, but they are quiet and quickly muted. Nothing in Aldean’s song is remotely similar or so blatantly violent.

    • Psychopaths lose their shit when you dare resist them in any way. Not sure if it applies here but saw it in the military, working for NY state, dealing with various criminals, politicians, and community activists (sometimes all in the same person) and especially don’t you dare mock or ridicule them.

      • Boy, you are exactly right. And you know, psychopath *may* be too tame a word….I dealt with a narcissistic socciopath who checked all the boxes you mentioned.
Then again, perhaps she *was* a psychopath!!! Just musing out loud…

    • Mark, the things you listed are promoted by the regime. That’s why they don’t have a problem with it. The things Jason Aldean is talking about is in direct conflict with the regime. It has nothing to do with “violence.” Remember that it isn’t hypocrisy. It’s hierarchy.

  2. I don’t listen to country. My stuff is rock from the 50’s, 60’s and some 70’s.

Never heard of Aldean before this kerfluffle. Any publicity is good publicity, right?

    • Made me curious about the song and the singer.

My play lists are usually 60s, 70s, and 80s, with some more modern, new age, and even opera and classical mixed in.

Years ago some friends and I were returning from a week long competition, cruising the highway, loud music blaring, windows down. What caused the double-take from the cars we overtook was Carmina Burana by Oorf blasting from the speakers.

      • “What caused the double-take from the cars we overtook was Carmina Burana by Oorf blasting from the speakers.”

Probably thought you were the antichrist. Isn’t Oorf in the soundtrack of ‘The Omen’? 🙂

        • It’s often known for being in the movie “Excalibur”.

Funny because the two most well known pieces are about a gambler cursing his luck.

      • When I’m rolling across the desert I’m usually doing some CCR, Stones or ZZTop.

Andre Rieu, I’m not sure if I spelled it right, does a very good Carmina Burana. My wife likes that type of tunes so we carry a mix. No rap, no country.

  3. I haven’t seen it. All media is garbage, whether movies, or rap, or country music. Most crap like this is sound and fury, signifying nothing. All of this stuff could disappear over night and no one would be substantially harmed.

  4. So we’re cool with “187 on a mother-$#@&in’ cop” but if someone say rights infringements or criminal elements may bring consequences they’re the problem? 🤔

    • Yes you are starting to see the defined rules of your assigned role. Now go work and pay taxes to us and our agents that we may oppress you harder. Sarc but not inaccurate.

  5. I have to admit prior to the cancel attempt I would never have seen, or even heard Aldean’s tune or video. Now I have, and I urge others to find and watch it, or at least open it. Drive the count off the charts and let CMT (which I don’t watch, either) stew in their own doings. Numbers matter in marketing, get your friends, kids, etc. to view or open it, too. Also after watching join in on some online commenting besides TTAG. Who was it that said: “Never let a crisis go to waste? Dem’s da rules right now, May as well play with them. Ask Anheuser Busch.

    • Same here… 8 year-olds on the playground have more sense than these lib-kooks. I’m not a C&W fan particularly (I do like the old stuff- 50’s/60’s) but I’ll be listening more carefully now.
“When you’re talkin down my country hoss you’re walkin on the fightin side of me” Where’s Merle now that we need him? Hint: there’s a new one born every generation!

  6. Shannon Watts and the rest of the left wing idiots with their faked ginned up outrage seem to ignore …

In the period 2020, since the election, to present: Liberal left wing ‘political violence’ has accounted for 97% of ‘political violence’ in the United States. Starting with the BLM ‘mostly peaceful’ riots where they ‘peacefully’ burned down and damaged property, burned down black neighborhoods, looted, attacked innocent people’, then continuing with the use of violent force and intimidation by ANTIFA against innocent people and an attempted insurrection in Atlanta, then continuing with the over 1,900 innocent people assaulted by members of the LGBTQ+ community and their supporting ‘activists’ in and around ‘pro-pride demonstrations’ in 2022 and many more before 2022 and into 2023, then the almost 18,000 kids in schools nationwide that have been attacked or harassed by ‘student LGBTQ+ activists’ in the last year, to the organization of and projection of force and harm by violent militant LGBTQ+ community members for an agenda, to even the Nashville shooter.

But more recently Trans violent militancy has ‘officially’ joined with ANTIFA, and ANTIFA has stated their goal now is that critics of trans ideology should be silenced, maimed or murdered, and they call for sexual violence against females in particular.

Great, now if you the law abiding citizen publicly voice your rejection of ‘Trans’ ideology you have even more reasons to be armed because if ANTIFA shows up the threat became imminent. You a straight or lesbian female – guess what, ANTIFA wants to visit sexual violence upon you.

But also, lets not the forget the left-wing politicians inflicting violence upon millions of innocent people by emboldening and facilitating violent criminals by de-funding police and ‘justice reform’ that refuses to arrest and prosecute violent criminals, and passing laws that use threat of force to remove firearms from law abiding innocent people and creating zones that specifically attract violent mentally ill killers while disarming the victims inside the zones, intentional infliction of physical and psychological harm to children through facilitating the LGBTQ agenda. Oh yeah, that weaponization of government against the American people, and now evidence in hearings shows the Bidens involved in human trafficking.

The left-wing and democrat politicians since 2020 has been the greatest single source and/or ‘prompter and facilitator’ of violence against the American people, and it continues daily to victimize millions of American citizens, every hour of every day since Biden took office. And that harm even extends to the Biden’s own grandchild Navy who they cruelly reject and deny and inflicting intentional emotional and psychological life long harm on the child.

Collectively, the left-wing is literally the largest and ‘the most consistent and lethal threat’ domestic terrorist group in the United States.

But, let’s also not forget….SW, the woman with her own personal body count numbering in thousands by use of a Monsanto deadly chemical she pushed in South America knowing it was deadly, and aside from the deaths also caused birth defects and other health harms, but wanted that bonus and promotion really bad.

So yeah, left-wing violence needs to be called out and it needs to be fought and eliminated.

    • These folks havent yet seen any “Right-wing violence”. God help them should they do so.

  7. It’s a miracle the totality of rap music has escaped any and all judgement from the woke/mee-too/end-the-violence/toxic-masculinity collective. Where’s Tipper Gore when you need her?

Some white guy in a cowboy hat sings “get off my lawn” and you’d swear the four horsemen are coming down the road.

    • RACISS dontcha know? An old white man warned me not to move to Indiana. “Ku klux klan” he warned me. Is that worse than ILLANNOY & no cash BAIL??? Is the Black Gangster Disciples still a thing?!?

      • Racist or Nazi=something they don’t like.

When you get called that, you know you’ve won the argument.

    • There are a lot of people who owe Miss C. Dolores Tucker and apology.
I was never a fan of gangster rap. And considered it to be actually dangerous to children. But the “freedom of speech freaks” disagreed. And those same freaks had no support for Adolf Hitler’s book Mein Kampf. The hypocrites didn’t support that kind of free speech.

And they don’t support free speech when it comes to Bible. But they do support comedian George Carlin and his “seven dirty words.”

      I see a pattern here.

      • They think free speech is government-supplied porn books for children, especially if it’s gay.

        • Yep. They really, really, really do love that gay thing for children.
And at the same time they really hate the second amendment for children.

  8. This simple truth should scare the pants of the Democrats. Americans with ethics and morals are creeping back into the limelight. In my small town, there was a BLM protest, made it about a block before they were concerned about citizens lining both sides of the street heavily armed.
The purple hair fat girl protesters packed up and left. they Complained to the Police, who replied that citizens have a right to express their 2nd amendment rights. Plus they did not threaten anyone. Have a good day.

    • “In my small town, there was a BLM protest, made it about a block before they were concerned about citizens lining both sides of the street heavily armed.”

Pretty much the same here in central Florida ‘When BLM Came to town’.

Polk county sheriff Grady “Because they ran out of bullets” Judd delivered a personal message the BLM and the ‘Blac Blok’ professional rioters :

      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nwFuXu665-k

      • We had BLM show up in our area to protest and they gathered in one spot in a parking lot, oddly, the majority of them were white, about 30 total had gathered at the time but probably more on the way. It seems all had out of state plates on their cars from the state next door across the state line about 20 miles away. Then they left our area very quickly after being confronted by two (concealed carry) citizens that told them “You just see us two, but what you do not see is the 30 others hidden right now with you in their sights. We are going to say this one time and then walk away … you want to exercise your first amendment right, that’s fine, we are all for the exercise of constitutional rights, but if any one of you do anything thing that poses a threat to life or property none of you will survive.”

    • Not afraid of black people. Just wary of liberal/progressive democrats. Regardless of age, race, color or creed.

  9. And yet nobody went after Toby and Willie’s Beer for My Horses – “Verse 2: Willie Nelson]
Grand pappy told my pappy, back in my day, son
A man had to answer for the wicked that he done
Take all the rope in Texas
Find a tall oak tree, round up all of them bad boys
Hang them high in the street for all the people to see ”

Obviously racists talking about lynching – not !

  10. ANTIFA & BLM destroyed approx. 2 billion $$ of property mostly via arson, they have murdered est. dozens, i.e. 6 police officers in Houston (while protecting a BLM march). ANTIFA has a habit of shooting their foes in the back.
There were small towns that promptly arrested these ANTIFA communists.
I know who bails out these thugs, question is who is paying for their travel, rooms, food and logistical information/coordination.

    • Soros and Bloomberg, perhaps? Nah, they wouldn’t do that! Not directly anyway. Some other big-name corp out of the PNW? Naw..

  11. For a real life “small town” lookup Snohomish, Washington. BLM and Antifa types headed out to Snohomish one evening to spread the Seattle love.

The George Floyd trouble making group was met by many residents sitting on the backs of their pickups and walking around with rifles. There was no trouble that night and no trouble since.

  12. I would offer MacMinniville Oregon as a counter example. Last summer, a marijuana addict with well documented psychiatric issues was involved in a shooting incident with police. Dillan Cashman fired a total of 243 rounds from various rifles and pistols in his residential neighborhood. As anyone who actually knows something about firearms would expect, the surrounding houses were thoroughly ventilated. The MacMinniville police bravely withdrew and called in the neighboring Washington County Tactical Negotiations Team who successfully apprehended the gunman. (If I had been a neighbor, I would have shot Mr Cashman to neutralize the threat.)

We just had the trial for Mister Cashman. Yamhill County Judge Ladd Wiles (aka “Former US Attorney for the State of Oregon Amanda S Marshall’s cuckold”) and a jury of MacMinniville morons acquitted Mr Cashman of multiple counts of attempted murder. Mister Cashman was convicted of the less serious charges of misuse of a firearm and convicted felon in possession of a firearm. There was no prosecution for reckless endangerment.

I would submit that in any community dominates by liberals, no matter how small, you can do whatever the Hell you want.

    • “a jury of MacMinniville morons acquitted Mr Cashman of multiple counts of attempted murder“

Interesting… So tell us, what color of skin does Mr. Cashman have?

  13. what would have been nice
    like…really REALLY nice
    is if jason aldean
had put some footage in the video
    of st kyle the benevolent
    going to work
    taking out the trash
    in kenosha wisconsin

  14. Like it or not, Country Western music. Folk music, Bluegrass, are all associated with traditional America.

And traditional America has been attacked for quite a while now. And I can remember as a kid people attacking Country Western music in general for the same reasons.

    btw
There have been black members of country Western bands for quite some time now. Also, black country Western song writers, have been honored in the Country Music Songwriters Hall of Fame. People need to do their research for a change.

    • I met Charlie Pride on a USO tour he did on the 80s. He was very personable and spoke to many of us at the NCO Club on Ft Kobbe.

Great singer, came off genuine and well respected. May he RIP.

    I hear people talkin’ bad,
About the way they have to live here in this country
Harpin’ on the wars we fight
And gripin’ ’bout the way things oughta be
And I don’t mind ’em switchin’ sides
And standin’ up for things they believe in
But when they’re runnin’ down our country, man
They’re walkin’ on the fightin’ side of me
They’re walkin’ on the fightin’ side of me
Runnin’ down a way of life
Our fightin’ men have fought and died to keep
If you don’t love it, leave it
Let this song that I’m singin’ be a warnin’
When you’re runnin’ down our country, hoss
You’re walkin’ on the fightin’ side of me
I read about some squirrelly guy
Who claims that he just don’t believe in fightin’
And I wonder just how long
The rest of us can count on bein’ free
They love our milk and honey
But they preach about some other way of livin’
But when they’re runnin’ down our country, man
They’re walkin’ on the fightin’ side of me
A bit dated as to details but still makes the point in question…. Let the lefties and vacuous libs mock as they will, it will change nothing. “Let this song that I’m singin be a warning, when you’re runnin down OUR COUNTRY hoss You’re walkin on the fightin side of me”…

Yeah Im an old geezer who’s live his life. Have you?

  16. I’ve no idea what the article was about nor did so read any replys.
Pay no attention was as far as I went.

  17. I’m definitely glad I moved out of the LA / OC area to Douglas County, NV. It’s a bad place to be a felon here. I don’t miss the LA George Floyd and other riots one bit. I do miss the food in LA though – just fantastic at some of the local restaurants. Not sure how many the Covid commies killed off.

  18. When I was a teen I thought Black Sabbath was devil music now it’s freakin Beatles compared to Death Metal that scares me once again.

    • Sabbath was actually one of the very first Christian rock bands.

“Have you ever thought about your soul can it be saved?
Or perhaps you think that when you’re dead you just stay in your grave
Is God just a thought within your head or is he a part of you?
Is Christ just a name that you read in a book when you were in school?
When you think about death do you lose your breath or do you keep your cool?
Would you like to see the Pope on the end of a rope do you think he’s a fool?
Well I have seen the truth, yes I’ve seen the light and I’ve changed my ways
And I’ll be prepared when you’re lonely and scared at the end of our days
Could it be you’re afraid of what your friends might say
If they knew you believe in God above?
They should realize before they criticize
That God is the only way to love
Is your mind so small that you have to fall
In with the pack wherever they run
Will you still sneer when death is near
And say they may as well worship the sun?
I think it was true it was people like you that crucified Christ
I think it is sad the opinion you had was the only one voiced
Will you be so sure when your day is near, say you don’t believe?
You had the chance but you turned it down, now you can’t retrieve
Perhaps you’ll think before you say that God is dead and gone
Open your eyes, just realize that he’s the one
The only one who can save you now from all this sin and hate
Or will you still jeer at all you hear, yes I think it’s too late”

Songwriters: Frank Iommi / John Osbourne / Terence Butler / W.T. Ward

  19. CMT is doing the same stupid stuff as Budweiser — pissing off their customers to placate people who aren’t their customers. Bud was at least nominally trying to expand its customer base, but I don’t think suburban moms and other antis will develop a love for cowboy music.
