From the NRA-ILA . . .

Democratic Texas gubernatorial candidate Robert Francis “Beto” O’Rourke’s position on guns is straightforward. The former New York manny wants to ban and confiscate America’s most popular firearms and further undermine Texans’ Second Amendment rights.

This radical position plays well with some Democratic presidential primary voters. It doesn’t with the Texas electorate. That’s why the perennial loser has been working to muddle his gun control position.

Upon the launch of his gubernatorial campaign in late 2021, Beto made clear that he had not abandoned gun confiscation. A November 15, 2021 Texas Tribune item explained, “’Hell yes, we’re going to take your AR-15, your AK-47,’ O’Rourke said at a debate when he was running for president. Now he’s running for governor and said he won’t be backing down from the statement.”

The obfuscation began at a February campaign stop in Tyler, Texas, where Beto attempted to downplay his support for gun confiscation. The failed presidential candidate told those gathered, “I’m not interested in taking anything from anyone. What I want to make sure that we do is defend the Second Amendment.”

By spring, though, Beto was back to his extremist gun control rhetoric. A June 1 Texas Tribune article reported that the candidate advocated for a ban on the sale of America’s most popular rifle, the AR-15. The item went on to note, “when questioned about assault weapons on the campaign trail, O’Rourke often says he does not believe civilians should have them.” When asked during a town hall if he had softened his radical gun control position the candidate explained, “My position on this is consistent, and I know that not everyone here is gonna agree with me… I don’t think any civilian should own an AR-15 or AK-47.”

On August 14 Beto sought to further confuse Texans by tweeting a video featuring a purported “gun owner” who supports his campaign. In it, the “gun owner” states,

…coming from a conservative town and a very conservative family, I still have people in my ear – that fear mongering that he was coming for out guns and I very much bough into it. I heard tonight, Beto out of his own mouth, say that he wants to protect our Second Amendment…

To the extent this video is legitimate and not orchestrated by the duplicitous politician’s campaign, the “gun owner’s” community and family is 100-percent correct.

As made clear from Beto’s statements during his gubernatorial campaign, he has not abandoned the confiscatory gun control policies he adopted during his 2020 presidential campaign. Given this reality, it’s instructive to recap those policies.

During the September 12, 2019 Democratic presidential debate, Beto was asked about his proposal to confiscate commonly-owned semi-automatic firearms. Beto responded in part by saying, “hell yes, we’re going to take your AR-15!” The Beto campaign would go on to sell t-shirts with the anti-gun slogan.

Less than a week later, Beto reiterated his call for gun confiscation on CNN’s Cuomo Prime Time. During an interview, Chris Cuomo asked Beto, “All right, so let’s state the proposition. Are you, in fact, in favor of gun confiscation?” Beto responded with “Yes.”

That same month, Beto demanded that banks and other financial services providers stop doing business with firms that manufacture commonly-owned semi-automatic firearms. Moreover, Beto demanded that these financial institutions prevent prospective gun purchasers from using their own credit or money to purchase lawful products. Specifically, Beto commanded . . .

Banks and credit card companies must:

1. Refuse to take part in the sale of assault weapons.
2. Stop processing transactions for gun sales online & at gun shows without background checks.
3. Stop doing business with gun & ammo manufacturers who produce or sell assault weapons.

Beto was also the only presidential candidate to endorse the gun control “Peace Plan” put forth by David Hogg and his associates at March for Our Lives. The plan’s tenets included, annual gun licensing, a federal ban on commonly-owned semi-automatic firearms and their magazines, and “a reduction of our domestic firearm stock by at least 30%.”

Making clear that the candidate does not want to “protect our Second Amendment,” the “Peace Plan” Beto endorsed called to “reexamine the District of Columbia v. Heller interpretation of the Second Amendment.” Of course, the key holding in that landmark U.S. Supreme Court case acknowledged that the Second Amendment protects an individual right to keep and bear arms.

The media gadfly became so associated with confiscatory gun control that after bowing out of the race fellow candidate, and gun confiscation advocate, Joe Biden told a campaign rally that he was going to bring Beto to Washington “to take care of the gun problem.” Biden went on to add, “You’re going to be the one who leads this effort. I’m counting on ya.”

Perhaps realizing that Beto’s chief skill is wasting the money of California’s political donors, Biden didn’t end up bringing the lifelong dilettante to D.C. after all. Then again, maybe the befuddled president just forgot.

Beto’s support for gun confiscation is literally printed in black and white for anyone willing to read it. Aside from exposing Beto’s penchant for dishonesty, the candidate’s repeated attempts to obscure his position shows just how unpopular his unvarnished anti-gun policies are in the Lone Star State.

  1. Robert Francis is a classic pencil necked geek Beta male MFer to the extreme. A vote for him is a vote for Marxism.

      • My thoughts exactly. Beatoff is no beta male. Charlie, delta, maybe echo, certainly not alpha or beta. If it were female, nothing would change, it would still be charlie or lower.

        • I thought Beto was born in September? Doesn’t that make him a Libra? I’m not familiar with Charlie, Delta and Echos, what months are those?

    • Absolutely. And I really REALLY hate Marxists… Beta O’Dork thinks he can MESS WITH TEXAS. It will be up to REAL Texans to show him otherwise!

He’s a fake Mexican and a real PENDEJO!

  2. Adding his tendency to foully curse at potential constituents to his inability to tell the truth paints a rather ugly picture – quite the complete package our Beta is, isn’t he? I’d suggest he try for a gig with CNN after this failed election but with the way CEO David Zaslav is cleaning out the worst of the “woke” numbskulls after the Warner Discovery merger that’s looking unlikely…maybe MSNBC will sign him on, that way he’ll have as many viewers as voters…

  3. Why would he WANT to hide it, according to the local Trolls 178% of ALL Americans (200% of all illegals, 500% of ALL criminals and 1000% of ALL wanna-be Terrorists) are in favor of stricter gun “safety” laws including banning AKs/ARs for law abiding citizens. Aren’t Texans Americans?

  4. With the regime apparatus doing the fact-checking in due time the one line about him not wanting to take anything away from anyone will rise to the top and all 500 of CNNs viewers and all 150 of MSNBCs will believe he never said ARs shouldn’t be held by the useless eaters.

  5. Meanwhile on Inside Edition I just watched a school superintendent practicing shooting. Beatoff is a Dumbazz…but if Texass elects this dweeb they get what they deserve.

  6. “I heard tonight, Beto out of his own mouth, say ”

Just like Hillary, wait long enough, and you’ll hear Beto say anything. It all depends on which audience they are playing to. And, they are quite obviously liars. I won’t say consummate liars, because most of us don’t believe their BS. Unfortunately, a lot of people hear whatever it is they want to hear, they have short memories, so whatever they think their favorite candidate said last is what they run with.

I’ll say it again. Beto can die in a fire, or have a stroke, or God can strike him with lightning. The sooner the better. Ditto for Hillary, and I’ve begun to feel the same about Brandon.

  7. This is the government, Butto O’Dork is the politician, our Founding Fathers warned us about, and for which they included the Second Amendment. Have T….”I’m 1776% sure you aren’t taking my guns.” Come on, Butto. Be the first one through the gun confiscation door.

    • “My position on this is consistent,”
The one true statement because his position has not changed.
The only change has been his choice of words when ask questions relative to the 2A.
There you have it for even he admits he is consistent with his garbage position.

    • he doesn’t have the balls to do it ( all mouth) he’ll send out the useful idiots to do his dirty work. he’s nothing but a big mouth pu$$y.

  8. Well, where’s the blu-anon trolls.
Did the masters holding their leashes and cranking the organ grinder forget to transfer funds?

Lil’d, All Hail and whiner49er should be along posting some form of ‘vote blue no matter who’ BS any time now.

    • Well, where’s the blu-anon trolls.

They’ll be here, d and Minerva are busy editing their copy/paste responses and Prince Al is debating which one of them will respond.

  9. Beto doesn’t believe I have a Constitutional Right to a firearm. I don’t believe he has a Constitutional Right to a microphone. The infringement of a goose’s right makes the same fair game for the gandner’s.

  10. Every Texan should buy and wear the T-Shirt that says, “Hell yes I’m going to take your AR15’s and AK47’s”. That is the best way to campaign against Beta Boy.

  11. The people that don’t know anything about a gun, are not willing to learn about them. They need to keep their noses out of it. With your job you should understand the Constitution and the amendments before opening your mouth. Just because you don’t like guns doesn’t mean that you all decide our rights.

  12. I trust Beto. I trust he would screw up a one car funeral, and he could screw up a wet dream. That’s all I trust about the fake hispanic modern slave holder.

  13. I’m sick of this guy and his pandering-to-Hispanics “Beto” business.

With his name, it’d be more accurate to call him Robert Francis Cardinal O’Rourke.

  14. Just remember, Beto is a FAKE Hispanic as well as being just a plain ordinary fake as well as being a flake.

  15. Beta Francis O’Rourke is a typical Dim; he says whatever he or his handlers think he needs to say to get the votes of whomever faction he is speaking to. His positions have all the permanency of a sand castle at the beach.

  16. Beta Francis O’Rourke is a typical Dim. He says whatever he or his handlers think he needs to say to get the votes of whichever group he is talking to. His jobs are about as stable as a sand castle at the beach. flagle

  17. Send Beto to California, they’ll love his anti-gun ass in that communist state. He and all of the other idiots that think guns are evil can have a circle jerk while they wait on the corrupt police force for protection.
