From the CCRKBA . . .

While a broader debate about the government’s case against Hunter Biden will undoubtedly rage on social media and in the establishment press, the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms says the only issue of consequence—and the one around which the charges revolve—is Biden’s alleged lying on a federal Form 4473 to purchase a gun.

“This is really the only thing that counts,” said CCRKBA Chairman Alan Gottlieb. “Whether Hunter Biden was heavily using drugs at the time of the gun purchase is not the issue, and we can’t lose perspective on this. The president’s son may have other demons with which to deal, but this case is about providing false information on a gun purchase form, which is a federal crime, and which is made explicitly clear on the Form 4473.

“The fact that Hunter Biden has been charged with lying shouldn’t really surprise anyone,” Gottlieb continued. “After all, his father is a habitual liar, and has been recognized as such by many political insiders for decades. So, this case could underscore the timeless adage that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.

“For example,” he observed, “Joe Biden has been lying about guns for many years.”

Gottlieb noted that Lee Williams, known widely as “The Gun Writer” and for his role as the Second Amendment Foundation’s Investigative Journalism Project editor, wrote earlier this summer about Joe Biden’s 304 lies regarding firearms.

“Lee did a remarkable job,” Gottlieb noted. “We can’t list all of Joe Biden’s canards about guns, but the few real whoppers include his claim that the Second Amendment prohibited people from owning cannons, for which even the Washington Post Fact Checker called him out and gave him four Pinochoes.”

Washington Post’s Glenn Kessler wrote, “The president’s push for more gun restrictions is an important part of his political platform, so he undercuts his cause when he cites faux facts. Moreover, Biden has already been fact-checked on this claim—and it’s been deemed false. We have no idea where he conjured up this notion about a ban on cannon ownership in the early days of the Republic, but he needs to stop making this claim.”

“Let’s face it,” Gottlieb said, “Joe Biden has lied about guns for his entire adult life, and now, according to the federal indictment, his son allegedly has the same problem. This time, it has led to a criminal charge, and we’ll just have to see how this shakes out in court.”

  1. The Hunter Biden Indictment is just another distraction in a long line of distractions to focus your attention on things that do not matter. Daddy will pardon him, zero consequence. Be concerned about the assault on the people of Maui, notice how that fell off the radar when it was being reported that the residents figured out it was a government plot. Notice how EV’s are being forced on the public, pay attention to nothing the government tells you to. They want take your guns, your cars, your homes, your children and your lives.

    • I would call you a conspiracy theorist but that would require you to have presented theories…….so conspiracy journalist?

      • Way too much data, some provable, some conjecture, to be presented here. Do your own research. And I’m not talking about “directed energy weapons” and other theories, I’m talking about conversion of the ownership of the property via nefarious means. New ordnance passed just before the fire, the power company claims the power was off 6 hours before the fire started, no water pressure, people prevented from leaving due to roadblocks…

        • Familiar with Black Rock taking an interest in the region and how that usually does not bode well for locals. The shuffle away from a devastating disaster especially involving indigenous by the media is a strong tell. The question is luxury hotels or high density (controlled) housing.

        • The government immediately shut down drone travel over the site where the fire started. I guess they didn’t want people to see how “climate change” caused that fire. Actually, in a roundabout way, it may have contributed to the fire. Well, climate change didn’t, but climate change policies did. Oops. Global warming, AKA climate change, hasn’t killed a single soul. Climate change polices have already taken many lives. This is just the beginning.

      • I wish I knew, someone was using same just “MB” about 2 years ago posted for several months and stopped. I don’t own the 2 letters, but I am willing to take ownership, credit or blame of any screwball posting here I actually do post.

    • “It’s about: lying about the drugs.”

In a year, after the SCotUS decides, I suspect it will be about whether you are someone who has committed an actual act of violence (or threatened to do so) will decide if you can have a gun or not.

About 10 years ago in TTAG, I predicted if we ever won huge on gun rights, they will do everything they can to make the pool of legally-prohibited people as massive as they can.

I provided an example such as :

Get into a screaming match with an idiot at work? No gun for someone who can’t control their temper, for example. ‘Red flag’ orders, as another.

United States v. Rahimi is the case, and the oral arguments are in a few weeks… 🙂

  2. hunter’s defense will have to turn against the contents of the 1994 clintoon crime bill that his dear old dad Jim Crow Gun Control democRat joe helped to concoct.
Bottom line hunter: You signed the 4473 so you own it lock, stock and barrel.

  3. This is what happens when you impede rights. I should be able to walk into a 7-11 and buy a Glock 18 and a bag of pot with no questions asked other than age restrictions. Parents should have control of their kids until age 18.

I hope his lawyers breaks gun control in their defense of him.

      • Whatever society establishes as legal age. Parents should have control of minor kids decisions until then. No abortions or surgeries or tats or transitioning without parents in the loop until they are adults.

Parents should decide when a kid is ready for a firearm.

        • I could see 18 barring permanent disability and younger if the are able to provide for themselves and seek emancipation/full rights.

      • Pr0gressives are pushing for lowering the voting age to 16.

Will the next step then be to lower or eliminate age of consent?

      • I knew about their donations to democrats. I guessed something like this was why but I was hoping otherwise. Ah well different company will get that money.

    • @.40 cal Booger
“Liberty Safe donating money to anti-gun democrats introducing bill to make gun safes and storage mandatory.”

‘The chief business of America is business’
      – Silent Cal, 1925

Business is about creating income. If a state is willing to enrich a business, business should naturally follow the income stream. Businesses, at all levels, are free to follow the income, even if it leads to eventual demise for the business.

We love “teaching” companies to not insult half its market (‘woke’ companies), well, anti-gunners buy safes.

  4. The “gun indictment” is a diversion to keep JB out of the loop. If any of the media would do it’s job, i.e., really get informed about tax fraud they would see three things about the statutes of limitation. First, the civil statute for most returns is 3 years, second, the six year statute applies if there was an understatement or misstatement of at least 25% of income in the first 3 years and finally for criminal fraud (tax fraud which HB was clearly guilty of and therefore would have lead to the big guy, JB) there is no limitation. Therefore, the DoJ could have investigated/indicted HB as far back as they wanted to go. Another cover-up by the DoJ and Garland. I am an accountant and have practiced for 48 years.

    • Doesn’t he have about a dozen other potential criminal issues and this is the only one that doesn’t involve his father?

      • They never feared this charge. This is the one they were prepared to get a slap on the wrist for. The only reason that didn’t move forward is because they were caught trying to sneak in a deal to make Hunter’s other potential charges go away. Those are the ones they don’t want to even talk about. How can you trust the DOJ to investigate those crimes when they’ve already been caught trying to sweep them under the rug? You obviously can’t trust them. Their job is to protect the criminals as long as it protects the Regime’s power. Power is the name of the game.

    • This right here. The gun charge is the only one in which Joe Biden is not a co-conspirator at some level. ALL of Hunter’s business dealings were clearly based on trading of Joe’s position as Vice President.

Interesting as this is to all of us, it is a side show a distraction from the major crimes that Joe is complicit in.

    • What crimes?
I mean Joe didn’t know about Hunter’s business dealings.
I mean Joe was never involved with Hunter’s business dealings.
I mean Joe never profited from Hunter’s business dealings.
      I mean there’s no evidence.
I mean there’s only circumstantial evidence.
Leave Hunter alone! He’s been through enough! Joe loves him!!

  5. In America you have rights, guaranteed by a constitution, to exercise those rights you may be required to lie.
If caught lying you will be imprisoned.
    It’s called Freedom.
Hate for all it’s worth Hunter Biden is not guilty.

  6. YEP SAME O SAME O ALL ABOUT THA LYING …
STILL OLD ORANGE FACE tRUMP OUT DID OUT DOOM DOING THEM ALL .
MAGA ~ Me A Great ASSIIEEHOLE BY tRUMP …

  7. I’m going that Hunter Biden will end up sharing a jail cell with Mister Ben Dover who was arrested down in Mississippi for molesting a dead horse.

For all of you who don’t get the joke, watch the movie Fletch Lives.
