It’s Finally Here – Now is the Time to #GUNVOTE

Polling Place Vote Here gunvote

By Larry Keane

Election day is less than a week away. This is the time to ensure the #GUNVOTE is heard at the ballot box.

More than 70 million Americans have already cast their ballot through early or mail-in voting. Campaign advertising is blanketing the airwaves and special interest groups, including gun control billionaire Michael Bloomberg, are pouring last-minute millions to nudge his agenda across the finish line.

Now, more than ever, American gun owners, including the over 6.2 million first-time gun buyers in 2020, need to plan to turn out to their polling place and vote to protect their rights. Who you vote for is your choice as an American. But, for me, voters have never faced a starker difference of what’s at stake. It’s a choice of preserving Second Amendment rights, gun ownership and the industry that provides the means to exercise those rights.

What’s at stake in this election? Nothing short of the Second Amendment, I told Outdoor Life’s Andrew McKean. This can’t be overstated. It’s not hyperbole or breathless crowing. It’s a fact.

What’s at Stake in this Election

President Donald Trump has fought, delivered and promised to continue to defend Second Amendment rights. This year alone, more than 15.4 million Americans purchased firearms, more than all of 2019 and within striking distance of surpassing the all-time record of 2016, when 15.7 million background checks were conducted for the sale of firearms.

In 2016, Americans rejected Hillary Clinton’s radical antigun agenda of re-enacting the failed 1994 Assault Weapons Ban and ramming through a national Universal Background Check law, which won’t work without a national firearm registry

The contrast is even greater this time. Former Vice President Joe Biden and his running mate, U.S. Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) propose the most strident antigun agenda voters have ever seen. Among their proposals are the confiscation of nearly 20 million lawfully purchased (after a background check) modern sporting rifles that are in circulation today and a ban on the manufacture and sale of these popular rifles in the future.

Those who want to keep those rifles would be forced to register them with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) under the 1934 National Firearms Act (NFA). That would require submission of photos, fingerprints, duplicate background checks and a $200 tax on the privilege of keeping what is already lawfully owned. It would also require a months-long waiting period to get that paperwork processed.

Biden’s Threats

That’s not all. The Biden-Harris agenda includes banning standard magazines for both rifles and pistols – more than half of all magazines in existence. They’d institute a national one-gun-a-month gun rationing scheme.

There would be a mandated state-by-state licensing requirement just to be able to exercise the right to purchase a firearm. No other fundamental right requires a fee to exercise the right. They’d also have an unlimited window in which the government could delay a background check for a firearm purchase, putting gun buyers in a perpetual limbo.

Internet-based sales for firearms (which can only be transferred in person at a licensed dealer after a background check) and ammunition would go the way of the dodo, too. Along with them would be the sale of firearm parts that hobbyist and gunsmiths require to build and repair their own firearms. Those parts would be regulated as a completed firearm, requiring background checks for purchase.

So-called “red flag” laws that trample on Due Process and Second Amendment rights would proliferate. Federal law would mandate how gun owners must store their firearms in their home, taking away their right to decide which method works best for them. If a gun is lost or stolen, the Biden administration would punish that gun owner if it isn’t reported promptly, even if you didn’t know it was stolen.

Any gun bought under a Biden administration would be required to include so-called “smart gun” technology, that the National Institutes of Justice has already determined isn’t even ready for prototype testing. Biden also promised to confiscate firearms from Social Security beneficiaries if they use a fiduciary, or someone to assist them with their financial affairs.

Biden and Sen. Harris have also promised to weaponize the ATF against firearm retailers, threatening to shutter them for even a single minor administration inspection violation. They’d also repeal the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act (PLCAA) to invite a new torrent of frivolous lawsuits against manufacturers and retailers for the crimes committed by individuals instead of holding the actual criminal responsible.

Don’t Risk Your Rights

To make sure his Second Amendment squelch sticks, Biden would upend the Judiciary. He’s flirting with packing the courts, restructuring lifetime appointments for federal judges to rotate them from court-to-court, all in an effort to stack the Judicial Branch with judges who will overlook the Constitution and put an end to gun ownership in America.

President Trump on the other hand has been the most pro-Second Amendment, pro-hunting and pro-industry president in the history of the United States.

The contrast is stark. The choice is yours. On Election Day, Don’t Risk Your Rights, #GUNVOTE.

It’s looking more likely you’re in for a very unpleasant surprise.

And it’s your own hubris that may doom you.

4 years of your off-the-charts bat-shit-crazy reaction to Trump may have so frightened his supporters that you just motivated them to turn out in record numbers to vote.

          Check these out, ‘boy’ :

We have two news stories of interest to POTG. And if true, is encouraging for us :

1 – “‘We’ve got to stop the bleeding’: Democrats sound alarm in Miami”

“MIAMI — Democrats are sounding the alarm about weak voter turnout rates in Florida’s biggest county, Miami-Dade, where a strong Republican showing is endangering Joe Biden’s chances in the nation’s biggest swing state.

No Democrat can win Florida without a huge turnout and big winning margins here to offset losses elsewhere in the state. But Democrats are turning out at lower rates than Republicans and at lower rates than at this point in 2016, when Hillary Clinton won by 29 percentage points here and still lost the state to Donald Trump.”

“To date, Republicans have turned out 59 percent of their voters in Miami-Dade and Democrats have turned out 53 percent, a 6-point margin. That’s twice the margin Republicans had at this point in 2016.

Among Hispanic voters, who make up nearly 70 percent of the county’s population, the deficit is even bigger — 9 points.

“Democrats have a big turnout issue in the Hispanic community in Miami-Dade,” said Florida-based Democratic data analyst Matt Isbell. “Hispanic Democrat turnout is only 48% while the Republican Hispanics are at 57%. This large of a gap doesn’t exist in Broward or Orange. It is a Miami problem.””

          https://www.politico.com/news/2020/10/29/miami-voter-turnout-democrats-433643#431

2 – “Biden Advisers Sound Red Alert Over Black, Latino Turnout”

“Despite record early-vote turnout around the country, there are warning signs for Biden. In Arizona, two-thirds of Latino registered voters have not yet cast a ballot. In Florida, half of Latino and Black registered voters have not yet voted but more than half of White voters have cast ballots, according to data from Catalist, a Democratic data firm. In Pennsylvania, nearly 75% of registered Black voters have not yet voted, the data shows.”

    1. avatar Geoff "I'm getting too old for this shit" PR says:

If they do that, the unintended consequences could make them rue the day they thought that was a bright idea.

Before it gets to that point, something tells me semi-auto rifles of all varieties and their magazines will be declared expressly constitutional, as ruled in the ‘Heller’ decisions, since they are clearly “in common use”…

FDR married his fifth cousin, once removed. That is further that most of the royal houses in Europe did. I would bet that there are closer relationships in your own family, if you can trace it back 100 years and know who all the players wee. The reason we know is because they belonged to a higher class family and they did keep records.

Even today, the major families in many Latin American countries intermarry, even 1/2 siblings and first cousins(which has caused problems), but even in the U.S., second cousins can marry, first cousins in some states.

While I am not a big supporter of FDR, that fact is not relevant. You are judging 19th century morality with 21st century ideas.

I’m in agreement with GS650G. Trump is neither our friend, nor our enemy, but he has made good, solid choices for Supreme Court Justices. 8. avatar Paul says:

Voted. Trump has a solid lead where I live, so I voted 3rd party for Pres. Pick one at random – libertarians are the most dominant. Voted the incumbent Senator who has a good record on 2A issues. Voted AGAINST all remaining incumbents by simply not clicking on the box to do so. Aside from a couple of constitutional initiatives, that’s all that was on my ballot.

If Biden had a snowball’s chance in hell of winning where I live, I would have voted for Trump, but I was able to safely thumb my nose at the two party system one more time. F the Rs and F the Ds – they both suck. They both forget who they represent once they are in office.

Who else has noticed that the poor little girl elected to the House 4 years ago, and couldn’t afford transportation to Washington, or rent for an apartment, is now wearing $14,000 outfits on the covers of magazines? They’re all corrupt.

    1. avatar Ing says:

That’s a very reasonable choice. (Not the $14k sellout, but the vote; well, maybe the graft, too…what good is being a filthy commie if they won’t pay you for it?)

I did the same thing last time around (not the commie thing, the voting thing), but in a state that had a hard-on for Hillary. This time around, my useless but symbolic vote is for the guy who’s driving all the communists and corruptocrats crazy, and I’d be happy to cast that vote in a swing state, too.

Trump is far from ideal, but after looking not at whatever meanie thing he said on Twitter, but at what he’s DONE — and just as importantly, *not* done — as president, I want another four years of it.

You should look into which direction the libertarian party has been going about the last ~4~ years.

It’s been marching to the left unfortunately. Why? My guess is to appeal to younger voters.

The mistake there is the wrongful assumption that younger voters are overwhelmingly liberal, and remain so throughout their lives. This simply isn’t the case. It’s a fabricated talking point designed to demoralize conservatives.

Dem controlled Big Tech is censoring conservative speech, even when it’s about proven stories from legitimate outlets. Add to that the manufactured racial injustice outrage machine that they blame on the guy that’s been in government for four years.
