Succession: Anti-Gun Billionaire George Soros Names Son Alexander to Carry on His ‘Progressive’ Agenda

One of the most powerful forces in “progressive” politics announced he’s stepping away and named his son as successor. The plan means there could be big changes coming to the organization behind some of the worst criminal prosecutors across the country – and not good changes.

Billionaire and mega-backer of soft-on-crime politicians and prosecutors George Soros announced he’s stepping aside from leading the Open Society Foundation, his nonprofit that spends $1.5 billion every year on Left-wing causes and politicians at every level. That includes big spending through Democracy PAC, Soros’ political action committee that widely and unabashedly backs “criminal-justice-reform prosecutors.”

Soros named his 37-year-old son, Alex, to man the ship. He could push for big changes within some of America’s worst cities for violent crime, many of which are already known as criminal safe havens and for having anti-gun, anti-Second Amendment policies that only harm law-abiding Americans.

Out With the Old

George Soros has been on a progressive political spending spree, becoming one of the biggest donors to Democratic political candidates. During the 2022 election cycle, he gave north of $175 million which earned him the distinction as “the biggest disclosed Democratic donor in the 2022 election cycle,” according to POLITICO. Soros’ political contributions were made personally, and through his Open Society Foundation as well as a “complex network of nonprofits,” according to CNBC.

Federally, his political donations included sizable contributions to Senate Majority PAC, the flagship Senate super PAC charged with keeping Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) in charge of the upper chamber; the special election campaign of U.S. Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-Ga.), a supporter of strict gun control measures; and the House Majority PAC, the main House Democratic super PAC that tried to keep former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) in charge.

Soros’ political giving also benefitted the failed gubernatorial campaign of Stacey Abrams in Georgia, who unsuccessfully challenged popular Gov. Brian Kemp. Abrams made strict gun control a major plank of her pitch to voters. Gov. Kemp made Second Amendment rights a pillar of his campaign and delivered on signing into law Constitutional carry.

Perhaps the elder Soros’ long history of backing soft-on-crime prosecutors in some of the country’s most dangerous cities is what his legacy will ultimately be. His political contributions benefitted Chicago’s Cook County Prosecutor Kim Foxx, who repeatedly went soft on some of Chicago’s worst criminals over the past two years. That included creating an uproar after refusing to charge several criminals after they exchanged gunfire between cars and a home with police officers nearby. One person was killed and five others were taken into custody. Despite clear video evidence, Foxx did nothing.

Soros’ operations also backed Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s election in New York City and helped initially elect now-recalled San Francisco District Attorney Chesa Boudin. Voters had enough of the soft-on-crime violence in San Francisco and booted him from office. The billionaire was also a big supporter of St. Louis’s disastrous Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner.

It also can’t be dismissed that George Soros has deep ties to state attorneys general that backed Mexico’s $10 billion lawsuit against firearm manufacturers. That case was dismissed by a federal court, but is being appealed.

In With the New

Many considered Soros’ 52-year-old son Jonathan next in line. But the elder Soros jumped over Jonathan and instead named Alex the new captain. Alex made his agenda known immediately.

“I’m more political than my dad,” he told the Wall Street Journal.

He resorted to political “whataboutism” in an attempt to legitimize his heavy-handed approach to keeping the money spigots flowing and promoting candidates who fit his gun control, soft-on-crime beliefs.

“As much as I would love to get money out of politics, as long as the other side is doing it, we will have to do it,” he said.

It will be a role with which he’s not unfamiliar. Alex Soros ascended to the top of the family businesses coming from his role as executive director of Democracy Now PAC, the major Soros Democratic political super PAC, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Additionally, the Washington Examiner reported on the younger Soros’ recent rise in prominence among major Democratic political figures on the national level. Those include continued meetings with Senate Majority Leader Schumer, former Speaker Pelosi, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva and, of course, several meetings at the White House with advisors for President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.

Raising the Stakes

The stakes for Second Amendment supporters across the country couldn’t be higher as Alex Soros officially takes on the leading role at Open Society Foundation and the many Soros-funded groups that play in American politics.

In the U.S. Senate, pro-gun control Democrats hold a slim 51-49 majority and have legislative control over floor proceedings. Senate seats in West Virginia and Montana could flip from Blue to Red and there are others that look favorable to switch as well.

In the U.S. House of Representatives, pro-Second Amendment Republicans currently hold only a five-seat majority that will shrink to four seats when Rep. Chris Stewart (R-Utah) steps down in September to be home with his wife through an ongoing health emergency.

In the states, Kentucky, Louisiana and Mississippi all hold high-profile gubernatorial and attorney general elections that will have significant impacts on the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding Americans. Soros will undoubtedly be involved and, like his father before him, spend heavily to support “criminal justice reform” and soft-on-crime candidates in those races.

Americans have overwhelmingly supported elected leaders who protected Second Amendment rights so far during the 2023 state legislative sessions as Axios has reported. The younger Soros may end up in the company of Michael Bloomberg in terms of his anti-gun advocacy and spending. Yet he may want to proceed with caution. After spending more than $1 billion to buy more gun control recently, all Bloomberg came away with was “huge losses.”

  1. May Alexander follow his father to the grave on the same day. I don’t want Alexander to miss his father too much.

    • Who am I kidding. I hope satan is done with you and your father. Die in a fire you pricks.

        • Booger Brain the Soros family has the money and they will as Khrushchev once said “They will bury you”. LMASOF

        • They will, if we let them, bury us in mass graves. With you and your jackbooted buddies helping them, dacian.

Fascism is on the march in this country and you are in the ranks.

        • Soros are but one family of several doing similar things and they are comparatively small. Would look more at Blackrock and central banks for the medium to larger fish.

  2. To quote JESUS CHRIST (The GREATEST JEW!): “Who say they are Jew’s but are not but are the synagogue of Satan”. Woe to those who call good evil & evil good…

    • You can’t criticize them in any way because they’ll yell anti-Semite, just like they yelled racist when Obama was in office. In other news, Democrats are evil liars.

      • George Soros handed things over to Alex for a couple reasons, first being people are waking up to GS’s service to the Nazi SS against ‘his own people’ being “the happiest time of my life” doesn’t jibe with the old smear of “you’re being antisemitic”!
Second is, When a Sith Lord has finished training his apprentice in the ways of the Dark Side, he MUST give way to the student becoming the new master… And George Soros is the real-life ‘Emperor Palpatine’ (even LOOKS the part)!!!

    • How will this affect dacian’s and miner’s paychecks?

Will they have to find another sugar-daddy?

  3. He should.spend some money on a tour of the Titanic wreck. I hear all the billionaires are doing it these days.

      • CF is best for tension loads, not compression, as those poor bastards found out the hard way.

That should cure the urge of anyone to subject themselves to that kind of extreme pressure in resin composite pressure vessel. Cameron’s ‘Marianas Trench’ video is on YouTube free, and it shows what it takes to make a craft to survive that environ. It takes as close to a perfect sphere as possible :

        • Sorry multiple posts moderation corner. Video is a pig in a diving suit. I don’t know how to link like Geoff above just pasting the direct link. Not pretty…to be sure.

        • I wonder, if we caught one of those deep sea creatures and brought it up, would it just expand to the size of Texas, or would it outright explode?

Might be worth some experimentation. I hear San Francisco needs to feed all of its homeless more food so as to help them keep up with their mandated streetpoop quota. If you could bring up a deep-sea squid and have it expand, maybe you only need one to feed the entire city for a month?

        • Osprey,
Ever deep sea fished for rock cod.
There’s your answer. Bulging eyes and all!

  4. He will continue to support the legaliz@tion of drugs. Which the Libertarians Liberals and the Left will totally support him, and all his efforts.

Because then all the crime will go away.

  5. Getting too old to go hunting for 2 legged rats. Wonder if someone could convince the Iranians or the Palestinians the Soros clan was a threat to their efforts to eliminate Israel.

    • Probably be more likely to convince Israel that he wants them wiped off the map, if his family history is any indication. (And theyre jewish, if that doesnt tell you how big of a bunch of a$$holes they are). Like i said bad bad people
