“Tuesday on The Alan Colmes Show, former police chief Mark Kessler made one of the most shocking revelations Alan had ever heard, and Kessler said he was exposing it for the first time anywhere,” radio.foxnews.com reports. “Kessler, who infamously made online videos insulting liberals and firing his gun, claimed that the federal government put him up to making the videos in order to attract ‘the worst of the worst’ and said the videos even led to arrests of ‘lone wolf’ terrorists. No it’s not April 1st. And no Chief Kessler isn’t winding-up Fox’s pet liberal. He’s serious. Or seriously mentally challenged. Check this out . . .

KESSLER: I signed up with those agencies, several different agencies and began an operation where I was just a magnet. I was sent out there to attract the worst of the worst and frankly it worked.
COLMES: You were sent out by whom?
KESSLER: I was sent out for, well I can’t really say exactly who but, I was sent out by agencies to go out and attract and investigate, whatever I can do to find out who’s who and what’s what among these groups. When I say groups, I’m talking about Second Amendment groups, patriot groups, alleged patriot groups, militia groups . . .

KESSLER: I’m happy to say that we took down several plotted attacks that didn’t go through, we took down a group in Georgia. We took down a group in Texas.
COLMES: Can you name any of the groups you took down?
KESSLER: The Triple X Minutemen is one group.
COLMES: Who are they?
KESSLER: They are from the Georgia area, and they were planning to blow up a federal building.
COLMES: Any other groups you can cite that you took down?
KESSLER: We took some lone wolves down in Texas that were militia guys, I should’t say militia, they were wanna be terrorists.

Well there’s no news story on Google about arrested Triple X Minutemen. However, TTAG reader John in Ohio unearthed this:

The computer that I’m using right now is too slow to open more windows to investigate timelines and I didn’t want to lose these links and quotes. Could this be the same group? If not, could this be where the Chief cooked up his tale?

One of the FBI’s cooperating sources, who has no prior convictions or felony charges but has been paid by the FBI, was supposed to meet with Peace in Memphis on Feb. 5, but that meeting was scrapped. Instead, the FBI informant talked with Peace over a secured chat website. There, a person using the moniker β€œChief” said the group would try to β€œrestrain the violence toward people” and instead would β€œtarget infrastructure.”

Given the context of this revelation – after numerous ATF “stings” and the Fast and FuriousΒ operation – I believeΒ Kessler’s telling the truth. Look out for myΒ editorial on the subject tomorrow (Thurday).

  1. Gosh, was it John DeLorean who said his coke bust was actually HIM setting up the cops? Or was it Marion Barry? So many crooks, so many stories…. Kessler is in fine company.

  2. Oh. You’re a crazy person now. Normally that’s a long, slow descent into madness, but you’re just throwing the lever and crossing over all in one fell swoop? Got it and good luck with that. Now back to our regularly scheduled programming.

  3. There’s an old saying: Extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof. In other words, put up or shut up.

  4. He might be a nut, but a couple of years ago there were several “militia” arrests in Georgia. I heard about the arrests and a plot against government targets but never heard anything else about trials, convictions, etc.

  5. its no different than what the government did during WW2, veitnam, they regularly spied on civilian organizations. a complete betrayal of the people. this is the country we live in now.

  6. This guy sounds psychotic, borderline.

If he were reallllyyy doing undercover work rooting out terrorists, he wouldn’t be posting online. And while I’d like to think no “federal agency” would be this dumb, the example of ATF rocket scientist managers and Dem AGs has proven ltherwise. Still, you’d think they’d be keeping their own cowboys on a leash, and a loony tune like Kessler would be persona non grata.

But, who knows…given the utter and complete stupidity and mendacity by this WH, who knows? Maybe Big Sis setup a new secret progtard imperial storm trooper outfit before she left, and they are recruiting now on CA campuses, y’know, “Social Justice Obama Youth Power Rangers League..”” (intel provided by SLPC, no doubt) And Kessler was just contracting for the NudgeTeam, on a weaponized beta version upgrade courtesy Google Geeks via the youtube app. Not too different than the competent State Dept running Stingers ti ISIs via Turkey, to identify the higher ups, a kind of GunWalker v3.0.

Crap. Now I’m actually seeing a remote possibikty some xbox boy weener with the common sense of a Weiner might actually be running this tard, from the sooper secret bunker located in Kauaii, under Whoopi’s ranch.

What? If they can give EPA a SWAT Team, and make Muslim Outreach the #1 priority for NASA, and make the Border Patrol into DayCare operators, then is it really just satire?…

Hey, Chief, don’t bogart that Michael Brown Especial Cohiba…

  7. “Well there’s no news story on Google about arrested Triple X Minutemen.”

Thanks to the National Defense Authorization Act, federal agents could very well have arrested “suspects” and whisked them away never to be seen or heard from again … since due process and other tenants of the United States Constitution and Common Law don’t apply to the good people of the United States when “national security” is at stake.

If the Republicans can do anything, they have to repeal the parts of the National Defense Authorization Act that violate the U.S. Constitution and Common Law.

    • Common law hasn’t applied to federal legislation or prosecution since 1812, thanks to the Supremes of the time.

    • If our only hope is that the Republicans who brought us the PATRIOT Act will suddenly decide to start reading and honoring the Constitution, we’re truly screwed.

      • To be fair, they are different Republicans responding to a different “voter mandate” (ugh) than those that passed the Patriot Act.

But yeah…I’ll not be holding my breath.

  8. Everything that comes out of his mouth sounds exactly like the sound a water truck and a vinegar truck make when they collide…

    Douche

    • Someone out there knows how to dig that stuff up.

Documenting or ‘dox’, google along those lines.

Look around, someone must have an FAQ on that…

      • Doxing isn’t really that difficult in this day and age… usually. However, it would be most wise that anyone doing so in this instance, do so from a very anonymous position just in case. I don’t think that the feds much care for their moles, agent provocateurs, and CIs being doxed. πŸ˜‰

  9. The scary thing is that something like this wouldn’t be the most harebrained scheme ATF has come up with….

  10. Yikes. And talking to super dweeb Colmes. Methinks there could be a kernel of truth…:-)

  12. I know I’ve heard his name before, but I have to be honest, I’ve never seen any of his rants or videos until now. And I thought I was well-versed in most of the You Tube gun crazies.

If it’s true, though….good for him? I guess?

  13. So his loud rants talked him out of a job, and ruined any possible career in law enforcement. I guess he got hungry enough to try and talk his way back in as “one of the good guys.”

    • Bingo! This guys mouth and ego cost him his job, and now he wants to say the behavior was part of some kind of sting.

Can’t name the agency? Federal Agencies love taking credit for anything that sounds headline worthy; on an agency-wide basis for budget allocation considerations, and on a personal basis for career advancement. I have a hard time believing he wouldn’t be able to say who he worked with. Sounds like BS to me.

  14. Sadly, I actually believe this. Sounds like the kind of stupidity the ATF would concoct.

Notice they are not going after Eco-terrorists or left-wing terrorists?

    • Notice they are not going after Eco-terrorists or left-wing terrorists? Those people are running the Federal government.

  15. I wish I could make a heroic living fishing for special ed students and convincing them to place packages of Play-Doh around.

Look, I convinced a retard to blow something up. Gimme a medal!

Jim Jones was a monster. The feds are champions of justice.

  16. I’m calling BS on this one.

If this were true, the “Federal Agency” would surely be touting their arrests (for publicity) and Chief Kessler would be presented as a ‘hero’ figure, instrumental in the arrests, sacrificing his career to do so.

The part I can’t figure out – Is Kessler a genius, or an idiot? Will the Feds say nothing to dispute this, and it always leave reasonable doubt that he’s telling the truth? or is this guy a total dolt and going to be exposed as such? I guess we’ll see.

  17. When I saw his videos I thought they were so over the top there was no way it could be real. So maybe he is telling the truth.

    But…

Wasn’t he involved in some domestic situation or something dumb at a bar that led to his disgrace? Maybe I’m thinking of another derpster. πŸ™‚

  18. The Triple X Minutemen sounds like a bunch of porno actors suffering from premature ejaculation. This guy needs to be taken with a grain of salt, but the Feds might come up with something this hare brained. Anyone who does not think the Feds do not monitor the Internet ( especially gun forums) needs to be sold some prime beach front property in Greenland.

  19. I dunno. To me, he does seem like a crappy actor in the video he made but he also sounds like a a crazy liar in the interview. I get that ‘stay away from this guy’ feeling from both.

  20. This mark guy is a rat, he said in the interview the proof would be exposed, why hes going on a radio show to tell the public he got people into a bunch of crap is beyond me. why he told people he was a narc for the gov is beyond me, he maybe going nuts or he may be telling the truth. i think his guilt personally got to him and he told thinking it would relieve stress on himself along with guilt, sad…

  21. He’s not a very good actor. But this kind of thing is the EXACT reason I am wary of people like James Yeager and Adam Kokesh.

Kokesh in particular, I am positive that he is pursuing the same angle as this guy. I know it sounds crazy/stupid, but that is on the gubnint not us. They’re the ones compelling these guys to go out there and try to make fools of us all.

For those of you who think he is just making all of this up, you need to understand that the guys they busted were most likely poseurs and yokels with big mouths. Not every case is high profile, especially these days where what they really want to do is begin the disarmament process quietly and get the ball rolling to the point it can’t be stopped.

This is similar to the way the media is pushing stories about Muslims in the west trying to join phony “ISIS” militants… they want to weasel out the radical Muslims dumb enough to go and try and join these people, who are in fact semi-professional mercs serving the interests of the Arab States on the Persian Gulf.
