Now that gun control lobbyist David Chipman is no longer in the running to head the ATF, he’s letting it all hang out in terms of anti-gun rhetoric and smearing the gun industry. The Giffords employee has just put his name on a fundraising email that spins some fanciful excuses for his failure as a nominee to head the nation’s firearms regulatory agency.

Here’s the email blast Giffords sent out . . .

Hello,

I’m reaching out to you with an important request today. But first, I wanted to give you some background about how I got involved at Giffords.

Following my retirement from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) after 25 years, I was awed by the courage of Gabby Giffords. I was captured by Gabby’s activism after surviving an assassination attempt and returning to work tirelessly as a force for change.

I was nominated to become ATF director but unfortunately the White House had to withdraw my nomination after an unfounded and false disinformation campaign by the pro-gun National Shooting Sports Foundation. It is clear that the NRA, NSSF, and the rest of the gun lobby will stop at nothing to fuel the cycle of violence where gun manufacturers — absent fear of liability — profit as public safety erodes. More criminals causing more Americans to buy guns in fear of armed criminals is a corrupt business model.

I am disappointed I will not have the opportunity to lead ATF, but I refuse to be defeated. The stakes are simply too high and there is no other line of defense. That is why I am doing everything I can to help Giffords…

Did you catch that? Chipman would have Giffords’ would-be donors believe that the firearms industry’s business model is built on fueling a “cycle of violence.” Because, in Chipman’s noxiously delusional, orange-sky world, the gun industry cheers on and “fuels” violent crime in order to sell more guns.

Somehow, though, the fundraising email doesn’t get around to mentioning the police departments nationwide that have been had their budgets cut in the aftermath of the George Floyd riots. They don’t mention the “bail reform” polices that turn violent criminals loose on the streets to offend again and again. And they don’t mention big city prosecutors who either don’t prosecute accused criminals or negotiate slap-on-the-wrist sentences for serious, violent offenses.

Chipman and Giffords blame his defeat on the evil gun lobby in the form of the NSSF and NRA. The truth of the matter is that, while those two organizations played a big part in the opposition campaign, his nomination was fought by the entirety of gun nation. Regional, state, and national gun rights orgs, big and small got involved. Literally millions of gun owners contacted their senators. They made it clear that installing a registered gun control lobbyist as head of the ATF was a bridge too far.

That’s why bi-partisan opposition in the Senate killed his nomination. It wasn’t fake news or gun lobby disinformation, it was massive pushback by tens of millions of American firearm owners who value their Second Amendment rights that doomed his bid to run the ATF.

Chipman will never admit that, of course, because fundraising using lies about the big bad gun lobby keeps the dollars flowing for Giffords and the rest of the civilian disarmament industrial complex. ‘Send me more cash and I’ll defeat the gun industry.’ Or something. And so it goes.

dacian says “The only positive thing to come out of this is…(“tens of thousands”) (of) Republican…voters are now dead.”

And you don’t think you are an evil person?

At the minimum you are seriously mentally ill.

This is not some gotcha line dacian: **Seek professional help, you are mentally unbalanced.**

These Republicans are condemning themselves to death by refusing to accept legitimate science and the experience of decades with vaccines.

I must admit, the prospect of fewer Republican voters is good, though I am saddened by the loss of life.

But these Republican voters are choosing their own path and far be it from me to interrupt their self destruction if that is their heart’s desire.

Their fear born of fairytales about demon seed and alien DNA are entertaining to the extreme, please continue to spout your nonsense so that intelligent folks can enjoy the spectacle of your continued dysfunction.

      • Ignoring of course that a very large number of the unvaccinated are Democratic Party black voters…Fear of the vaccine is a bipartisan concern.

        • how many millions of us have RESEARCHED these things they falely label “vaccines” and decided the health risks and adverse reactions are a far higher threat to MY HEALTH than the silly disease I have alread had and ocnquered, thus now possessed of lifelong strong immunity to ALL variants of this virus.

      • I have posted on several occasions that we need to stop responding to Dacian and Miner49er. These two are either chronological or mental adolescents seeking to arouse passion and anger from their intellectual and elder superiors. I made the mistake of answering one of Dacian’s illogical posts. I won’t make that again. They are not worth the time or electrons to answer. If we ignore them, they will go away.

      • Lil’ d?……….

        https://youtu.be/daWJTSvi97c

Little know fact, Dave C was first runner up.

Should lil’ d for some reason be unable to fulfill the duties of the title as “BDITU”, David C will step in, don the crown and sash, then proceed with the responsibilities of carrying the torch of “BDITU”.

Oh, and lil’d, TAKE YOUR MEDS!

    • Gun Control zealots such as chipmonkey are quite comfortable saying, “The firearms industry’s business model is built on fueling a “cycle of violence.” That is because too many so called defenders of the Second Amendment have sat back and allowed the Second Amendment, Crime and Gun Control to be mixed together to form a tangled up ball of never ending confusion. A ball of confusion the sneaky democRat Party has used for decades to hang crime and racism around the neck of the Second Amendment.

Following a tragedy where a firearm was clearly criminally misused the democRat Party and their media cohorts set the pace and confused well meaning law abiding Gun Owners are all over the map swatting at flies attempting to defend their rights all while Gun Control and tons of its diabolical baggage skates by without a scratch.

Once the ball of confusion is untangled Gun Control stands alone out in the open where Gun Control can be crushed by its own weight.

      1) The Second Amendment is one thing.

      2) The criminal misuse of firearms, bricks, bats, knives, etc. is another thing.

      3) History Confirms Gun Control in any shape, matter or form is a racist and nazi based Thing.

      • I like to ask of those who, after every spree shooting, demand 2A repeal, what the lawful and legitimate right to self defense has to do with someone committing violent crime? Do they demand abolition of AAA or curtailment of their pro-driving safety and enjoyment agenda because some are out there driving drunk?

  1. “false disinformation campaign?” So, correct information?

“but I refuse to be defeated.” You already were defeated.

  2. So Chipman admits that his goal was civilian disarmament and the reversal of the current protections for firearms manufacturers.

  3. Chipman is just another of the many Leftist sociopaths who live in an alternate reality and spend most of their time in a delusional state. Remember it was the ATF that lost all those firearms sold to the Mexican Cartels that killed at least one American Border Patrol member and untold numbers of Mexican Citizens during the Obama Administration. Furthermore, I believe he was working for the agency at the time. Its unfortunate that we don’t have an Administration that is pro America and that most of these people running our current Government agencies are really of questionable intelligence, ethics, morals, hypocritical, lying, biased and racist. Yes racists. When you advocate CRT and claim that WHITE people should somehow feel guilty for things that others have done in the past you are a Racist.

  4. Chipmunck is a vile and disgusting POS. I’m thinking that he was born that way, but it may have started when the Branch Davidians used two .50 caliber Barretts to shoot down two Texas Air National Guard helicopters.

Wait — that never happened? Do you mean that Chipmunck made it up?

Okay, then. I was right. He was born a vile and disgusting POS.

  5. “Chipman’s Fundraising Lies About the NRA and NSSF Make it Clear He Was Never Qualified to Head the ATF”

Why reach that high? Chipman wasn’t qualified to run a dog dropping clean-up crew in a city park.

  6. This guy is a moron and has possibly tainted any possible further nominee choice that the Democrats could make. He has confessed to having massive conflicts of interest in being able to perform his perspective job objectively.

Also, does this contradict any statements made in front of Congress about being able to do such? I wouldn’t be surprised if he had one or two that did.

It’s also amazing he’s sending funding emails out this fast now. Almost as if he never left their employ in reality.

    • I think you hit it on the head. The whole statement reads like any other fund raising screed written by any number of organizations. Their boy Chip sold his soul to them long ago and will stay that way as long as they pay him. Convictions? I doubt that he really has any of his own. His confirmation hearing was so disjointed because he was trying to remember the talking points fed to him by his current pay check, the Giffords. He probably does not have a real belief system based upon his own conscience.

  7. That photo capturing Chipman’s reflexive round mouth and grab hold hand gesture belongs in the dictionary under the definition of C0C#$UC#€R.

    • I’d like to buy a vowel, Pat.

Just what the hell is that word salad? It reads like a line from one of Resident Biden’s speeches.

      • I had no idea Fruit Salad Bowls own the NRA. 🤪

Next Vlad will tell us the GOP owns the NBA, and writes lyrics for NWA. 🤔

  8. Would Giffords keep him on retainer if he was approved as Director? Giffords would certainly be on the top of Chipman’s speed dial list.

  9. Over 40 years ago, when I first entered the work force, I had a boss that coined a term for a certain type of employee. He called that type, “Chronic New Guy Syndrome.” It referred to an employee that was best described as someone with one year’s experience, however many years they’ve been employed. In Chipman’s case, One year of experience 25 times over. They almost always have mediocre skillset, bordering on total Incompetence, and the only reason they’re not terminated, is that firing them creates a host of legal issues.

When Jihad Joe touted Chipman as the most qualified individual, you could place a Las Vegas bet that they’ve no qualifications whatsoever, because Dementia Joe is the least qualified President in US History.
