When I first ran across The Truth About Guns, I was ecstatic. Since I collect news stories for KeepAndBearArms.com finding TTAG meant that much less work for me. Robert and his minions were doing the hard part for me! Then I actually started reading the stuff and before you knew it I was checking out the site even on nights that I wasn’t doing Newslinks. Then I started commenting and the downward spiral started. Soon I was doing TTAG two or even three times a day, and then when I became a gentleman of leisure Robert completed my corruption by asking me to write for him. So now TTAG means being able to actually reply to those idiot antis and have people read and comment on my replies! Heady stuff indeed.

I am a bit of a Johnny-come-lately to the civil rights (firearms flavor) movement, having not really gotten involved until after I hit 40. I am not really a "gun guy"; I can generally hit what I aim at, but I'm not a competitive shooter. I enjoy the craftsmanship of a fine pistol or rifle, but I am not particularly knowledgeable about firearms in general nor am I a Glock guy, or 1911 guy, I'm just a guy. What I am is passionate about civil rights, especially those of the firearm flavor.

  1. Good to read your stuff on TTAG, Bruce. I was one of the wave of licensees after the PPA went through in MN. Living in WI now, but have not applied yet here.

Folks, Bruce is the real deal, a civil rights activist as regards the RKBA. He put his money where his mouth was, and bore the consequences, knowing he was in the right. I may have missed a thing or two he wrote — just discovered TTAG. But maybe he’ll retell some of his experiences in the debate leading up to the dawning of the “shall issue” law in MN. He was one of the early forces driving CCRN (Concealed Carry Reform Now). Joel Rosenberg and Darrel Mulroy, other champions of armed self-defense for law-abiding citizens, have passed on.

Bruce is a giant in every sense of the word.
