This is what I carry now during the COVID-19 crisis. This is what I carry out and about, and it’s what I keep on the night stand at night. It’s also what I carry while hanging out at my house.

While the holster and mags might have changed, this is what I’ve carried for 10 years now. Keys, cell phone, wallet, Blackhawk mag pouch and Burt’s Bees Chapstick not pictured.

        • I have a P80 940C (G19) and have the XGrip adapter/spacer sleeve that allows G17 mags, as well as the Pachmayr equivalent. Both fit perfectly with the P80 frame.

          I would imagine the same holds true for the sleeves for the 940SC/G26.

          It seems to be the add-on magwells that don’t make the transition smoothly.

        • I have P80s in all three sizes for 9mm builds (G17, G19, and G26). All Glock OEM and Magpul mags and accessories have fit them fine with no problems for me.

    • If you have a Gen 5, then you may want to be careful with Magpul mags. Check J Helmsing’s experience for reference.

    • That is my setup and they are the Magpul GL-9 12 rd mags. As to why I don’t carry a G17 mag as spare, I’m all about consistency. If I have to reload my grip is the same as if I just drew the gun.

  2. I dunno… the glock design is what, 40 years old now? 9mm is like 110? Doesn’t that put all that there into FUDD gun territory? 😉

  3. My G26 is my out-of-house EDC. My G17 with light and extended mag is my nightstand go-to.

    I like the idea of the G43 as a slimline EDC, and wish I could have one (alas, but California and all that…), so the G26 falls in line with the 9mm standard I have with my G17 and G19s.

    Good choice.

    • It’s funny, not haha funny, but odd funny, I feel like I need more on-person ammo when at home compared to when outside.

      • I am all about freedom, but if there is one thing that should be made illegal, it’s vertical videos.

        That said… I hope nobody NEEDS to use self defense, but it happens. You’ll grow up one day.

          Or that you’ll get your sarcasm detector tuned up?

      • cgray, that’s funny. As a veteran, dark humor never gets old for me, but my kids are slow to accepting sarcasm, or is it the dad jokes.

  5. Good outfit. That Surefire Backup is the best one cell light I’ve ever owned. Glocks have no panache, but they damn sure work.

    • They work. And if the cops throw them in an evidence room after a shooting you’re not out a lot or losing a family heirloom.

      I paid a lot less for my k frame Smith but it would pain me to lose it. My G19? Not so much.

      • The only way you’re going to lose it is by dropping it while running away from the danger. I know who you are.

      I have come to appreciate my 43 and 48 as much as my LCR – which is also utilitarian.

      I still enjoy handling my old Smith’s more, but the gritty day to day is handled with some plastic……that I can replace easily.

  6. There’s a lot of hype over the new Glocks but my 3rd generation 26 has been a real work horse. A good number of Cops carry the 26 as backup with an extended mag for ammo, and a home owner would be hard pressed to make a better choice. You can’t beat the 33 round mags upgraded to 36 rounders by Taran Tactical.

    • All my (several) Glocks are typical 3rd Gen and perform like champs. The only real advantage I’ve seen from trying out 4th Gen is the ambidextrous controls, but I’m right-handed, so…

      Don’t really see any need for the newest 5th Gen. YMMV

      • Same here. My EDC G26 has a few mods (including an aftermarket safety), but I’ve put probably near 50k rounds through it in training classes and practice, and it always, always goes bang.
        Recently had the slide on my old Gen3 G17 milled to accept a Shield RDS that co-witnesses with the iron sights. Great practical open-carry / SHTF piece.

      • I put Overwatch in a G36, G26, and a G42. Couldn’t be happier with that choice. Of course, all my dingus’s were black.

    • Its a Kineti-Tech trigger shoe. The internals are OEM that I have both polished and smoothed out putting thousands of rounds through the gun as well as millions of dry fire reps. Do have a heavier trigger return spring in there as well. I feel it gives a better reset feel.

      • Anyone remember CompuServe? That ‘ol Betty was out and in use way before AOL. I believe Rush Limbaugh’s show referred to it as their email address back in the late ’90s (if memory serves), when the Interwebz was new and everyone wanted to send electronic Xs and Os to each other.

        If AOL is the 1911, then CompuServe is the flintlock musket.

        • CompuServe was late 80s, wasn’t it? Or early 90s?

          Crap. Google says founded in 1969. 5 bucks an hour…

  11. I carry one of the following, depending on season and where I’m going: G42, Performance Center Shield 9mm, S&W 432PD, or an HKP30SK (and occasionally a Beretta 3032).

  12. My all time favorite right now is the new Glock 48. And, after being on the waiting list at Shield Arms for a couple of months, I recently acquired two of their awesome, all-steel 15 round magazines……. designed exclusively for the 43 and the 48. I just wanted people to know how flawless those new 15 round magazines have performed. Carrying 16 instead of 11 in the same size package makes the 48 even more perfect than it is!

  13. I pocket carry a “Baby” Glock 33 in 357 sig, or a Ruger LCR in 327 Fed. Mag. for my EDC; out of the house and while at home. I use a Sig 2022 in 357 sig for a nightstand gun.

    The Glock 33 carries fine in my front jeans pocket.
