This undated photo released by the Tulsa Police Department shows David Ware, who police say shot two Tulsa Police officers following a scuffle on Monday, June 29, 2020. Ware fled the scene on foot and police searching for him described him as armed and dangerous. (Tulsa Police Department via AP)

It seems to be open season on police officers of late. Yesterday an officer was shot northeast of Dallas. Last week one was wounded in Florida. Another one in Atlanta. Baltimore, too. St. Cloud, Minnesota. Chicago. One was stabbed in Arkansas.

Yesterday a suspect fought with two officers during a traffic stop in Tulsa before pulling a gun and shooting them both in the head.

No one is questioning the need to examine and reform some police practices and get bad cops off the streets. But given the push to defund departments around the country and the reputational, career and legal risk every cop faces if he or she shoots someone in a situation that can later be questioned, a lot of cops are deciding it just isn’t worth it. It can’t be easy recruiting replacements these days, either.

On top of zero bail systems and prosecutors who won’t prosecute, anti-cop and pro-criminal advocates claim the only way to save lives is to radically cut back or eliminate police budgets and cops on the street, replacing them with holistic community services. If you really want to see the bodies pile up to early 1990s levels again in this country, that’s exactly the path to take.

From the AP:

Two police officers in Tulsa, Oklahoma, were shot and critically wounded on the city’s east side Monday morning and police arrested the suspected gunman following a more than seven-hour search, authorities said.

David Anthony Ware, 32, was arrested about 10:45 a.m., said Capt. Richard Meulenberg.

Police had been searching for Ware since about 3:30 a.m. after he allegedly shot two officers during a traffic stop. The officers — Sgt. Craig Johnson and rookie officer Aurash Zarkeshan — remained in critical condition Monday afternoon and were “fighting for their lives,” said Police Chief Wendell Franklin.

Zarkeshan had been on patrol for less than six weeks after graduating from the police academy in the spring, Franklin said.

The two officers were attempting to remove Ware from the vehicle, and one officer had already deployed a Taser and pepper spray in an attempt to get him out.

“When they were able to get the driver out of the vehicle, the driver produced a handgun and fired multiple rounds,” Franklin said.

A motive for the shooting was unclear and Ware had no known bias toward police, Meulenberg said.

“He clearly did not want to be arrested,” Meulenberg said.

After the officers were shot, Ware walked away from the scene and was picked up by an “accomplice” who had arrived in a separate vehicle, Franklin said. That man, Matthew Hall, was arrested later in Broken Arrow, Franklin said.

“He got on the phone and called that individual while he was being stopped,” he said.

Ware has been charged with two counts of shooting with intent to kill and illegal possession of a firearm, court records show. They didn’t list an attorney who could speak on Ware’s behalf.

      • OK, and the stars signify?

(Besides ‘waste of potentially viable protoplasm’…)

        • Just general idiocy.

They’re a standard “out of the book” tattoo that essentially mark you as a moron if you got them done after 1995 or so. Mostly on people who wanted a simple design that’s small, cause it might hurt and they’re cheap.

Occasionally you’ll see them as part of a larger piece like on an elbow as partook a sleeve or something. That’s a bit different. Like this it’s the male version of a pre-designed tramp stamp for $50.

        • @strych9

The almost look like Russian Prison tattoos. There is a fascinating documentary if I could remember the name of it. Somehow I don’t think he is a Russian criminal living the life, perhaps he wanted to copy.

        • Manse:

Yeah, Russian prison tats are crazy. NatGeo had a special on them years ago and there’s a special feature about them on the Eastern Promises DVD. Honestly, I thought the movie special feature was better than the much longer special.

So, you have your whole back done up like that? Pretty badass. Maybe I’m different but they back hurt worse than anywhere else.

      • Every time I see a heavily inked guy all I can think of is how much ammo that money could have bought. Hence my meticulously maintained, uncontaminated epidermis.

        • Hey now… Some can do both. But I haven’t had a tattoo in over 10 years. Was thinking about getting a nautical star on my face… Lol

        • There’s always the possibility that the person got the heavy ink while Uncle Sugar bought the ammo or just after, upon separation. Neither is all that uncommon.

It’s also sometimes true that people who have that much ink, if it’s well done, probably don’t care about the money all that much. The ink was a trivial expense to them. Of course, there are people who spend more than they can afford on just about anything and I’m rather confident tats are no exception.

          *slides down shirt sleeves*

        • You’re right s9, folks would say the same about what I spend on wrist watches (when I could just use my phone).

        • Watches. I’ve never gotten super serious into them, that is high end ones. I find an analog watch useful for navigation as well as being on time and, done right, somewhat classy.

          So… Chef don’t judge.

        • S9, I wear long sleeves too. And yep, when I got 90% of them, I was check to check. Still glad I got them all done. If I could go back I wouldn’t get any, but when I started I was 17, so by 28 I was ready to just be done and finished the sleeves. The rest are sporadic lol. Funny thing is, the best work I have was done by a felon who used to tat people in prison. Not much of a talker, but an amazing artist.

        • Face tattoos are never indicative of good life choices.

Ah, Dirty Dayton and the Filthy Field. Takes me back.

    • His Rhodes Scholarship application is being re-evaluated.

Geeeze, just look at that twit…

Has he been doxxed yet? Voter registration?

    • You got it!!!….. this is all going according to plan….. this country is almost done….. they have almost achieved their government takeover….. all while the mouth breathing whites sit there and take it straight up the azz without lube….. AND THEN ASK FOR MORE!!!!

    • I have a couple friends who are cops. One is in management. Its a sh1tshow. They can’t arrest people who are blocking the road with signs until they talk to them for 30 minutes.

The other friend is a patrolman and has the added stress of a low salary. he depends on details and overtime to make what he needs to make. About 2x his base salary.

If he gets Covid, his sick time will cover his salary but not all the details he will make. So he’s got financial stress too.

      • I don’t know where you live, but even with the high cost of living in metro Ca, a patrolman with normal overtime will make better than 100K a year, that ain’t hay. Maybe your friend is living beyond his means, spoiled wife, 2 new cars, expensive habits, etc.

      • Yeah, well a mobility scooter and oxygen tank kinda leave you with few other choices.

Also, it’s bated breath. Baited is what you did with a hook or trap, in the past.

        • You stole my thunder, strych9. Good catch. If we can’t have LE style cops, at least allow us our “grammar police” or as I would prefer, “diction police.”

        • Maybe it was baited because he was trying to catch his breath. What if you can’t catch it. What’s it called then? The breath that got away? I see some fun here 🙂

        • “Maybe it was baited because he was trying to catch his breath.”

LOL. Fair point. I hadn’t thought of that. “Breath Bait”, you should trademark and sell that. Just make sure everyone knows it’s “Not intended to diagnose or treat any disease”.

Honestly though, I’d leave him alone but he kinda spent yesterday begging for me to kick him a bit.

    • Mostly peaceful protesters. I mean, they only shot one guy, right? /s

Now imagine the media reaction if the shooter was a Trump supporter.

    • Holy *^%%$#!

This needs to play/be shown across this nations media platforms, all of them ..repeatedly.

“mostly peaceful” must mean getting shot now.

  1. It’s very easy to find replacements…. THEY HAVE REPLACEMENTS ALREADY LINED UP…. THEN IT’S OPEN SEASON ON THE PEOPLE WHO BUILT THIS COUNTRY!!!!!

        • Neither. Having body armor did the 2 officers in Tulsa no good. With the situation in America right now if I had a family member that was a cop I would be trying my best to talk them into getting into another line of work.

There comes a point where risking life and limb for an ungrateful population and crooked polls is expecting too much. If you have a family you at least owe it to them to think about switching up careers.

        • Fair enough, no choice to far in to give it up. We all make choices, I made mine.

        • Some of the population is still grateful and thinks the law enforcement is doing a good job overall.

Kind of hard to show much open support when saying All lives matter is construed as racist and a thin blue line flag is a local government sanctioned decree to have your car or business burned down.

    • Man I’m even got them sitting beside me on the ride home anymore. I’m not a street cop but law enforcement.
And yeah I’ve got a helmet and no there are no guarantees as there are other vulnerable areas for the trollers who always got something to say in their safe jobs.

  2. Oh well…have your chit together cop’s. Or quit. I love the “who would wanna be a cop now!” absurdity.Plenty of replacement boy’s & girl’s to take your spot. This tatted up loser(not looser!)needs a dirtnap…

    • You are talking about things you clearly do not understand if you think there are plenty of people to take their places. Have you done even cursory research on recruitment numbers in cities for the last 5 years?

      • I’d say it depends on the town. Some of the local police stations are given cookies, donuts, pizza, carry-out lunch/dinners from the residents. Also, the little kids are bringing home made thank-you cards with those cup cakes etc. Low crime/good salaries. No spitting. No rock throwing at them. No protesters.

  3. It is my sad duty to announce that, as of 3:35 PM today, Tulsa PD Chief Franklin confirmed that Sgt. Craig Johnson succumbed to his injuries this morning. The second officer, Officer Aurash Zarkeshan, is still listed in critical condition. Ware will now be charged with 1st degree murder and his accomplice will be charged with accessory to murder.

  4. How do we know he wasn’t resisting an unlawful arrest? It doesn’t even list why they were trying to pull him out of the vehicle. Be objective folks. Do you think you’d be treated any different if you defended yourself from government agents no matter the reason? You think the media won’t malign you if you actually do live up to the “from muh cold dead hands” nonsense that 99% of you wouldn’t actually see through?

    • “It doesn’t even list why they were trying to pull him out of the vehicle…”

I’m sure that he can make that defense in court… where he will lose.

If the police conduct a traffic stop on you, they can order you out of the car for ANY REASON OR NO REASON AT ALL and you must comply or they can use whatever force is necessary to remove you from that vehicle and then charge you with various offenses.

You may disagree with this but it is the law of the land (see: Pennsylvania v. Mimms, Maryland v. Wilson, and a slew of others). If you decide “I know my rights” you will find out in court that you do not. So talk about cold dead hands all you want but don’t come crying when it happens to you because you didn’t understand the law.

        • If you weren’t so pathetically lazy, you’d click the link and know that it was for expired paper tags.

        • Not liking that “ACAB” moniker.

Sweeping generalizations are often untrue and the sign of a weak mind…mostly.

        • So his great original crime was not paying the king for travel permissions lol? Maybe being a revenue collector isn’t worth getting shot over after all. You are all a bunch of fudd bootlickers that would have sold the founding fathers out. “Just follow the king’s laws, he has your best interest at heart”. As for the man quoting case law on resisting unlawful arrest, resisting lawful arrest was seen as justified all the way back to English common law. Just because some states have since legislated against it and their rubber stamp courts back it doesn’t change anything. How can you be secure in your freedoms if you have to allow the state to rape you and your rights with your only recourse to later file suit against the state in THEIR courts? The level of cognitive dissonance here is alarming. You’re almost as bad as the leftists that you so commonly deride. You’re both big government enemies of freedom.

        • You are all a bunch of fudd bootlickers that would have sold the founding fathers out.

You say that like you actually know what you’re talking about.. Damn, when did all these fukin know-it-all anarchists infiltrate this forum.. They are worse than the TROLLS, shit I miss Vlad…

  5. Tragic shame about the officers. If Shannon Watts had a son, he’d look like David “Derp” Ware. Same doofus, crooked head, same cross-eyed stare.

  6. David was just taking the trash out. When two cops use a taser and pepper spray, trying to remove someone from their car without a reason, it’s fair to respond with equal force:

“Ware has been charged with two counts of shooting with intent to kill and illegal possession of a firearm, court records show. ”

And what were the original charges, why did they use their taser, which the police recently concluded was a lethal weapon? Dude was a cop for only a month and already graduated to this. He won’t be missed by anybody important, he was heading down a dark path anyway, screw him.

  7. People like Ware just need to be put down. This article shows booking photos from arrests in 2017 (drug and burglary charges), 2008 (burglary) and 2006 (burglary). After two or three times, the idea that they’re going to turn their life around becomes far-fetched.

  8. I look at that picture and think Investment Banker, neurosurgeon, PhD candidate.

He’s striving for glory after all.

  9. Who cares what happens to them, where were they to protect the couple they had to use their own weapons to protect themselves? Better yet everybody on here says how pro second amendment they are, how about drilling a third pinhole on one of your guns and seeing how pro constitution these cops are! 20 bucks says you won’t find one that will not arrest you!

You got it!!!….. this is all going according to plan….. this country is almost done….. they have almost achieved their government takeover…..

__Agree with you that it was a PLAN.

One: Demoralization – Elimination of American Exceptionalism, fundamental change of national identity, structural deconstruction of foundational principles, elimination of religion.

Two: Crisis – Creation of economic, financial, and national security crisis. Cloward Piven approach to overloading the system, ie more takers than producers. The crisis produces benevolent leaders who will promise to deliver Hope and Change to meet people’s needs through Social and Economic Justice. False illusions that the situation is under control plus (Bailouts, Stimulus, Jobs Bills, Regulations of industry, Unconstitutional Power Grabs, etc.)

Three: Normalization – The uncomfortable feelings of change including losses of freedom are absorbed and accepted. Lost national identity becomes accepted as the norm within the new societal model. A period of national rebranding transition where people are so overwhelmed by the change they become numb and begin to accept a ‘new normal’. This period of normalization lasts indefinitely as the progression is continually advanced and acceptance takes place in small controlled doses. (New limits on behavior, Regulations, TSA Patdowns, Intrusions into privacy, Controls added into daily life) These things begin to be accepted as “just the way it is now”…

Four: Destabilization – Unlike the period of “Crisis” the people who helped orchestrate the change are now no longer needed. The new overarching centralized governmental model begins to take control. Leftist usurpers who initially thought they were going to be part of the new power structure begin to realize they were used and manipulated and they themselves become the new enemy. Because they have first hand knowledge of the agenda they are the primary target for elimination. They may simply be disregarded, obfuscated, thrown out, or they may be collected, imprisoned, or worse killed. There is no longer room for dissention. Dissent is only possible within the free system that has now been deconstructed. Therefore the leftist purpose is served once the destabilization is complete. Totalitarian Government takes control…

all while the mouth breathing whites sit there and take it straight up the azz without lube….. AND THEN ASK FOR MORE!!!!

___Not sure how this really applies but I’m not surprised that it got > Montana Actual aka Suspicious Fisherman, Knowbody, UnKnown, Everyday Carrier, Threeper, 3prcntr, B.D. [Paid… McChrystal… Troll!!!] really excited. The take it straight up the azz without lube thing triggered him. Please refrain from such graphic details in the future so as to keep MA composed.

Montana Actual says: Yea? Tell us more.

    • wut?

“glad to see I’m living in your head 24/7”
Remember that one? lol. You try so hard at insults. It’s funny. U mad.

  11. “”””””””””Ware has been charged with two counts of shooting with intent to kill and illegal possession of a firearm,””””””””””””””””

GASP!!!!! clutches at pearls…”you mean existing firearm laws did not stop a criminal from having a gun? GASP! what will we ever do!
let write 50,000 more even more useless laws that criminals will snub!

  12. People are angry at the police and that anger gets directed towards ALL whites. Do what you have to do. Maybe you should have been nice to me and sold me that attic ladder for $100 instead of lying about being sick and your family selling it.

All police are racist and there are no good cops. When these racist cops determine to take guns from whites are you going to a) let them and be a victim of the mobs who WILL gun you down indiscriminately showing no compunction at ending the life of a white freemason or b) shoot the police to stay alive?

If you kill the cop blacks win. If they take your guns, the murderous gangs will win and ultimately the blacks win. Its a win win for blacks so rhetoric at this point is useless. You’re all talk and no action. The gangs don’t like you or the police and you WILL have to face the police in armed combat. No exit 13. It’s rigged against you. Saying mean things doesn’t change your reality. Taking blue pills may help you to cope with your frustration but does not guarantee victory.

    • If you really believe this whole fucking mess is about black and white you are one of the last three people in the country that are still walking around with their heads up their asses… The blacks and their little army of brainwashed, guilt fed, useful idiot whites are being used by the Marxists whose goal is simple, bring down the U.S. by any means necessary… Feed the angry mob what they want to hear (like Biden’s “we choose truth over facts”) Don’t worry about statistics, fuck the 100 or so blacks killed by other blacks in the past month, let’s burn the cities, destroy the symbols of American heritage and show the world how fucking ignorant we are because a couple of black people got killed by cops (black AND white cops) and now a bunch of dumbass wanna-be gangsters got it in their heads that ALL cops are afraid to go after them (thanks to the dickhead in Atlanta) so they can just do whatever the hell they want… By the end of the Summer chaos will rule supreme and it won’t matter what color you are if you show weakness you will be eaten alive, and come the morning of the 4th of Nov when Trumps reelection is confirmed no one will know peace… So go ahead and run your bogus racist bullshit because the only people buying it are the real racists, useful idiots and feckless fools who are busy watching the shiny object in the right hand while the left hand shoves a 14 inch dildo up their asses….
