Leupold & Stevens, Inc., provider of the world’s most rugged, lightweight, and clear riflescopes and reflex sights, is pleased to announce that its Mark 5HD riflescope has been selected as the day optic for the U.S. Army’s Precision Sniper Rifle (PSR) program. Like all of Leupold’s riflescopes, the Mark 5HD is designed, machined, and assembled at their Beaverton, Ore. factory.

The U.S. Army Mark 5HD 5-25×56 will come in a proprietary flat dark earth coating and utilize the Army’s patented Mil-Grid Reticle. The Mark 5HD will be mounted on the US SOCOM selected MK22 Mod 0 based on the Barrett MRAD bolt-action multi-caliber system chambered in 7.62×51 mm NATO, .300 Norma Magnum, and .338 Norma Magnum.

“The Mark 5HD has been built from the ground up to deliver the unparalleled performance that the men and women serving our country overseas require,” said Sam Horstman, Director of Military Sales for Leupold & Stevens, Inc. “And, like all of our optics, the Mark 5HD has been strenuously tested for durability, and fully meets the extremely high standards that the military demands. Our Soldiers need their optics to perform, and we’re glad to be able to offer a solution that’s built to deliver on those expectations.”

The Mark 5HD has been crafted to redefine accuracy, precision, and optical performance for long-range shooters. Three models – a 7-35×56, 5-25×56, and 3.6-18×44 – are available in both milliradian and MOA configurations. Pick one up and you’ll feel the difference: it’s up to 20 ounces lighter than other scopes in its class. Get behind one and you’ll see the difference, from its superior edge-to-edge clarity to its extreme low-light performance. With three revolutions of elevation adjustment, the Mark 5HD was made to max out the performance of the latest long range rifles and ammunition.

Leupold proudly provides its optics to the United States military, law enforcement, and government agencies across the country, and to the armed forces of many of our nation’s closest allies. No American optics company has held more U.S. military contracts than Leupold.

Waterproof, fogproof, and guaranteed to perform for life, the Mark 5HD is backed by the company’s legendary Lifetime Guarantee.

  1. Great choice. I went with the 3.6-18×44 Mk5 HD (Tremor3/illuminated, on a SPHUR mount) for my POF P308 SPR Gen4 EDGE. Just in case the trollfarm is wondering what I think. Is that humblebrag? Gee, I hope so.

    • I use my 5-25 on a larue 6.5 grendel and am thinking of mounting it on my 6.5 x 284 to try it at long range. Home run for leupold

    • Yep, fired at least $20 million worth of AGM-114 Hellfires.

Thank you for your generous donations to the IRS charity fund for Things that go Boom.

      • “When in combat you better have the best equipment money can buy…..,
        So true.
This also applies to civilian SHTF firearms. Buy quality, AND support it with spare parts (bolt rebuild kits, gas tubes/op rods, gas piston and plugs….). Ammo of course!
Also a good idea to have the RIGHT equipment. The Mk5 HD SPHUR mount is QD, this allows for fast swapping to a Trijicon 1-8×28 Accupower (true 1x) on another SPHUR QD mount. Both of these scopes are at the same height as the low rise Diamondhead MicroD BUIS (H&K high rail model).
Don’t forget to keep it portable too. This package (including spares and mags) loads into an Explorer Hard case that resides next to the gunsafe.
        SHTF guns matter.

    • Yeah, and some of that spent overseas, fighting for your “freedom.” Because the Iraqis and Talibans are a real threat to our freedom lol.

      • Sync, go ask Europe in about 20 years when they are the Islamic Republic Eurabia.

The war may be unpopular with the vast majority of people now, people who are ignorant of how history works, but time will show Islam has always been the ultimate threat to the west. America may not fall to islamification but Europe and Africa are gone.

  2. I guess that beats slapping a weaver on a Winchester. Question, do any of you guys remember the snipers in Nam saying a Winchester would shoot farther then a Remington? I’ve never figured that out, I wasn’t a sniper guy back then and never really thought about it until 20 years stateside. Why would one brand shoot further then another ?bias based on experience. Or just We don’t like Remington? ha ha because I know I fucked up a lot of their try me shit because I licked what worked

    • Dumbass twenty four deep in a thirty pack is not a good time to post comments Stick with the weed possum dumbass👍

    • Marsupial friend. I can answer your drunken question. The Winchester 70 was chambered in 30-06 and the Remington 700 was chambered in .308.

  3. Can’t get toilet paper anywhere bro, I had to use some towels my neighbor left by the pool. I hope she washes them and puts some new ones tonight. Stop buying all the TP or my neighbor is going to run out of laundry detergent!
