He’s highly educated, tenacious and grew a pair a long time ago. That guy stands up to libtards on a daily basis. Here’s to hoping is the nominee for Pres. Reply Ted Cruz for POTUS or SCOTUS would be awesome! Reply Yup I much rather see him on the Court for the next 40 years, instead of chasing his own tail as POTUS for the next 8. Reply He’s my first choice, of those running, for president. A nagging fear is that he may accept someone else’s VP slot if he doesn’t get the nomination himself. Cruz as V.P., when he could be the greatest SC justice ever, would be a collosal waste of talent. Reply high praise indeed. even still… Considering the quality (/sarc) of his opponents, on either side, I think the ideal situation would be for POTUS first, at least one term, where he may have the opportunity to appoint one or more justices to SCOTUS, then SCOTUS himself after completing his recovery of America and the Constitution. I percieve in Mr. Cruz the makings of a great statesman, the like of which we have seldom seen in the last hundred years. May he live a long life and may he serve us and his country well for as many of those years as he desires. Democrats are HOPEless Republican RINOs are feckless Ted Cruz gives a feck Dump Trump – Chooz Cruz Reply Not my first choice for potus but we could do a hell of a lot worse. Lesser of two evils says go Cruz! Reply He’s channeling Pugsley Adams. Didn’t Obummer have a picture just like that… Reply It’s not really in the same league, no. Reply Mr. B. Hussein Obama’s publicity people published a picture of him allegedly firing an over/under shotgun at an undisclosed target (Conservatives? The Constitution?). It remains unclear if this was an actual discharge of the gun or if it was some sort of special effects smoke charge, IMO. It did not look like the sort of out-of the-barrel flame and smoke I have seen from a usual shotgun discharge. At any rate, he was most definitely not out hunting pheasants or any other game bird or animal just because it was something he believed in and enjoyed doing. It was a political photo op, plain and simple. Reply If he’d stop supporting amnesty and increased legal immigration, he might be able to get my vote. Reply I thought that was Rubio. Reply Yes, you’re definitely thinking of Rubio (or Lindsey Graham-nesty), not Cruz. Cruz is solidly against illegal immigration and pro-legal immigration for STEM applicants. We need to quit throwing our doors and welfare rolls open to every 3rd world illiterate basket case sticking his hand out and giving his vote to Dems. We need to start welcoming degreed Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics immigrants who can contribute to our country. Hell, we already educate such foreigners in our universities, but then we show them the door back to their countries, where they start businesses and compete against us. Meanwhile, we’re fattening the welfare rolls and prison populations with 3rd world losers. Reply I’m not sure where Cruz comes down on this, but there’s also an issue with H-1b visas, temporary visas for ‘skilled’ workers. A few months ago Disney took a lot of flack for replacing a couple hundred IT workers with cheaper H-1b foreigners, but first they made them train their replacements or lose their severance. The visas were designed to fill jobs that companies couldn’t find Americans to do, but then they just let them fire American workers and replace them with cheaper foreign workers. That needs to stop. Reply I am reminded of the TV program “Northern Exposure” from years back in which the doctor, Joel Fleischman, was required to perform as the local doctor in a remote Alaskan town for a number of years in return for a wealthy local man financing his medical education. Perhaps if the state were to legitimately get involved in education at all it should be to insist that foreign students who obtain their degree at an American institution must return the favor by working for an American company for at least two years before returning to their home country? Just a random though not carefully considered or researched, but it seems fair on the surface. Reply That’s an idea worth considering. As it is, you can prettu much buy your way into residence if you invest enough in the U.S. It’s not terribly far afield to link brain power to time in the U.S. Got my vote. Reply As regular as the tides, here come the candidates’ Elmer Fudd costumes. Like clockwork, in the fall of a year preceding a presidential election, we get to see all of them pretend to be hunters, dressed up in their brand-spankin’ new camo and orange outfits with the Cabela’s tags still on… It’s such a stupid “rite of passage” for candidates to have to do this. Even the anti-gun ones do it, so it proves absolutely nothing about their 2A bona fides. No doubt some politicians are lifelong hunters, but these staged photo ops for guys who have never fired a shotgun before just look silly and uncomfortable. (Before anyone jumps me, I know Cruz is a gun guy – my comment isn’t about him specifically, just the dumb “tradition” of trying to prove you “respect the Second Amendment” by posing in camo with a shotgun.) Reply At least his coat doesn’t look brand new just out of the store, and he has the correct shotgun for upland bird hunting. And his stance shows that he has held a gun before today. It is gennerally easy to spot the pretenders by the ill fitting clothing they are wearing that still has the creases in it from being folded on the store shelf, and their poor gun handing even while posing for photos, and occasionally having a totally inappropriate gun for what ever activity they are supposedly doing. Dick hunters never have a shoulder thingy that goes up, but wild boar hunters sometimes do. Reply And the award for most unfortunate and hilarious typo goes to… You make some good points, Joe, but I can’t stop laughing at “dick hunters”. Reply Are there any size limits? Insert comment about bag limits (and thingies that go up) here. Eh his close look pretty new to me? Was Obummers picture in tails and top hat? Palin wears Carhartt. Reply I basically agree. It’s lame and lends itself to some silly optics (see Obama in his Mom jeans.) Still, you have to hunt ducks where they fly. Some voters respond to these photo ops. So they must be generated. Not everyone follows politics as a hobby or lifestyle, so they really are clueless about someone’s stand. It’s unfortunate that a true believer like Cruz has to participate in this dog and pony show, but that may be what it takes to get the 2A message through to some voters. Reply But that’s my point – if they all do it, it doesn’t tell you where they stand. The same bird-hunting photos exist of candidates like Kerry and Obama, so it’s just the lowest form of pandering. At least when they pander to factory workers, they don’t dress up in an ill-fitting factory worker costume and carry a lunchbox. I know that some voters respond to pandering, but I wish we just had one single political candidate, ever, in any race, who refused to suck the ass of every lowest common denominator idiot they can find just to scrounge a couple votes. And why is it always birds? Let’s see some of these guys drag a bloody deer carcass out of the woods, then maybe I’ll believe they’re really hunters. Reply Where’s the picture of Hildebeest holding the shotgun in blaze orange? You can’t tell me she doesn’t have a blaze orange pantsuit in her closet (next to the private server). Reply Hopefully hildebeazss blaze orange pantsuit will be a prison jumpsuit. Well if this country required elected leaders to be held to a higher standard or permanently lose the ability to run for anything higher than dog catcher Reply No impeachment or prison for and of the top tier, connected pols…not ever. It’s a solid they do each other. They’ll trot it out like Gingrich did for Clinton, but low and behold it’s all theater to keep you hoi polloi placated. Except we all know that Presidents spend at least 25% of their time on vacation. Reply I love Ted and think he would be a great President, but he has no chance. The left has done a good job at labeling him a “crazy tea bagger” and many moderates wont even consider him. Reply You have a solid point, but I think given the nomination, he could defeat the Clinton machine. He stands as much of a chance as anyone anyway. Reply You say you love him, but do you love-love him? Reply I think that Cruz looks totally butch in his hunting outfit, and much better than Mike Dukakis looked when he was masquerading as his own bobblehead on an Abrams tank. Reply Ted for PRESIDENT(or SCOTUS)-the only guy(or gal) I support without a caveat…Hillary for prison 2016. Yeah I hope he doesn’t go the vice route… Reply So, good ‘ole Ted defends the 2nd amendment by parading around in a BIRD HUNTING costume. I’ll believe he’s not pandering to the emotionally unbalanced types who think BIRD HUNTING with a firearm that’s still legal in Canada, the British Isles, and Australia is what the 2nd amendment is about when I see him on the 3-gun competition range shooting with a squad of the real defenders of the constitution. Heck, I would settle for videos of him shooting at an NRA service rifle or police practical pistol match. Reply LEAVE A REPLY Cancel reply Please enter your comment!
