MasterPiece Arms has just announced a new product line that lets rifle shooters quickly attach and adjust a variety of accessories such as bipods, barricade stops and chronographs. Check out their press release and video below . . .

MasterPiece Arms Introduces Rapid Adjustment Technology (RAT) System

The new RAT System allows a shooter to rapidly adjust the position of an item attached to the forend of an MPA Chassis on the fly.

MasterPiece Arms (MPA), manufacturers of the MPA BA Rifles and Chassis Systems, introduces its new MPA Rapid Adjustment Technology (RAT) System. The RAT system allows MPA Chassis users to rapidly adjust bipod, tripod and barricade stops on the fly. The RAT system is composed of the Base, Harris Adaptor, Dovetail Adaptor Plate, Picatinny Rail Adaptor and Magnetospeed System.

Watch the video for full product description below:

Weighing one pound, the RAT Base attaches a variety of accessories to the 1.5″ Dovetail Cut on the MPA BA Chassis System. A pocket is machined into the RAT Base bottom that includes a hole pattern designed to accept a series of accessories that will attach to the Base, which allows the shooter to utilize the RAT System. This permits it to attach to the RAT Dovetail Adaptor Plate mounted to the MPA Spigot Mount. An Atlas Bipod will also mount directly to the RAT Base. MSRP $69..99.

The RAT Dovetail Adaptor Plate attaches to the Spigot Mount on the MPA BA Chassis System and allows the shooter to run the RAT System and all the accessories on both the chassis body and the Spigot Mount. It will also be needed to run the Magnetospeed Adaptor on the MPA BA Chassis. To install, simply remove the existing Picatinny rail from the Spigot Mount and attach the RAT Dovetail Adaptor Plate. MSRP $29.99.

The RAT Harris Adaptor is designed to provide an attachment method of a Harris Bipod to the 1.5″ Dovetail Cut on the MPA BA Chassis System, as well as the RAT Dovetail Plate (Spigot Mount). It is designed to replace the user’s sling stud attachment plate on his or her Harris Bipod. MSRP $89.99.

The RAT Picatinny Rail Adaptor is designed to provide an attachment method for items that interface with a Picatinny rail. This will connect to the 1.5″ Dovetail Cut on the MPA BA Chassis System, as well as the RAT Dovetail Plate (Spigot Mount). MSRP $89.99.

The RAT Magnetospeed Adaptor is designed to provide an attachment method of a Magnetospeed V2 or V3 to the RAT Dovetail Adaptor Plate (Spigot Mount) on the MPA BA Chassis. This unique and versatile system is designed to give the shooter a better shot by allowing the Magnetospeed to attach to the rifle without contact to the barrel. This eliminates any point of impact shift concerns when the shooter is gathering data on his or her velocity. The system will include the RAT Base, Magnetospeed Adaptor Block, attachment rod and thumb wheel. It requires the use of a Spigot Mount and RAT Dovetail Adaptor Plate to attach to the chassis. MSRP $89.99

  1. Not being a 3-gun competitor or in combat, I can’t see how this is a whole lot faster than a Picatinny rail. It does give you infinite choice in exactly where it goes along that slide, compared to a Picatinny rail. But how hard are you going to have to tighten down that thumbscrew to prevent recoil from moving components? Will that gradually leave dents in the slide? And will that extra effort going into tightening and especially loosening the thumbscrew slow it down so much that a Picatinny rail ends up faster?

  2. This is a really good tip particularly to those fresh to the blogosphere.

Short but very precise info… Thanks for sharing this one.
