Make Pizza, Not War: IMI Systems Quote of the Day

“Marijuana users who are also strong gun-rights supporters were simultaneously up in arms and puzzled. ‘I don’t know of any time anyone’s been using marijuana and committing acts of violence with a gun,’ one Pennsylvanian said. ‘Most of the time they just sit on their couch and eat pizza.'” – Marijuana and guns [via registerguard.com]

  1. All these big name manufacturers are missing the boat. My 16 y/o daughter has gone through 4 backpacks in the last 2.5 years. I’ve tried to convince her to try maxpedition, hazard 4, 5:11, etc, etc, as they are built tougher than off the shelf generic bags. But not a single one produces ANYTHING with feminine appeal. And yes, I’m serious. She would bought one had someone offered a simple, tough as nails backpack in pink. Or any color not black, grey or FDE. I’m sure there’s some market for this, as there are plenty of ladies out there who would buy a bag if it wasn’t trying so hard to be the unofficial backpack of the Navy SEALS.

  2. Does the name Aaron Hernandez mean anything to you?

There are lots of gangbangers who would disagree with you.

Perhaps you should rephrase this as: “I don’t know any middle class college students who committed acts od violence while high.”

  3. Some kid is going to be shot with a real gun when a fall goes out of a suspect to running the street with an assault rifle either by a police officer or a citizen when the kid points the gun at them. Then the police officer or citizen will be crucified by the liberal media that a poor kid was shot with a BB gun. Very irresponsible by Crosman.

  4. Don’t think it will be much longer until a group of Patriots start taking the tyrants out (Trump keeps winning will delay this)

I’m ready and willing to do my part, are you?

  5. I was disappointed to hear Rick say that ATF field agents only ask for 4473s when there is an investigation and/or trace. I have read several stories where agents have come to gun shops and requested all of their forms.

I appreciated that Rick (and Tim) noted that there are pro-rights people in the ATF. Perhaps some discretion comes from that. However (and a big “however”), minor events (e.g., Ruby Ridge, Waco, Fast & Furious, the shoestring “machine gun”) suggest that the upper management lean significantly towards anti-rights. Scary.

  6. I always thought that in the land of everyone being equal it is time that woman be required to sign up for selective service. Would give her something to worry about. Unless of course she has a penis to see both sides of the issue. She isn’t totally useless at least she serves as a bad example.

  7. They’re pretty well-liked up here in Canada, if a bit pricey. The shorter barreled ones are great backpacking guns, but I think a US buyer would have some additional forms to fill out if they wanted one at that length.

  8. The only real beef I have here is the statement that there has been some sort of reduction in spending on these efforts. What B.S. When one buys a firearm in California, one must pay the state a $25 fee for the background check, a fee that by statute was supposed to only enough to cover the cost of the program. Wll, low and behold, someone discovered that the actual costs of the program were only about $19, and that the State had over $5 million stashed away taken from gun owners–an illegal tax. “OH goody goody,” said the Legislature, “MONEY!” So they snagged that money and gave it to the DOJ to fund these confiscation efforts. So every time anyone buys a firearm in California, $6 goes to pay for confiscation efforts. Cute, huh? (And yes, the courts upheld a challenge to the new law that claimed it was an illegal tax.)

  9. I’d say they aren’t morally equivalent. In the last ten years, can you name a single instance when white supremacists started a riot that antifa wasn’t at? I can’t.

Congratulations antifa! You’ve won the coveted “Worse than Nazis” award.

  10. So, is this the first time a database of gun owners has been used to tell those on the list to comply with some illegal edict?

IE: one of those lists that would never ever be compiled.

  11. So what happens if the original owner sold or gave the item to someone in another state before receiving this notice?
They may not have gotten/given a bill of sale or receipt…
Will they then be in violation and arrested?

  12. I thumb off the slide release. I always try to be mindful of all my actions, particularly with firearms. The times I haven’t used this technique I was not and still am not aware of.
