Kimber, a Transceiver, and a Vape: Everyday Carry Pocket Dump of the Day

Evan in Ohio carries a Kimber Micro 9mm TLE, a Vaporesso, and a Yaesu Hand-Held Transceiver.

He says, “A lot of items have changed recently for me, as I’ve upgraded my iPad, and retired my XDs and bulky holster in favor of a Kimber Micro and a leather OWB holster from versacarry. This allows me to also bring along an extra magazine. My Trusty Hinderer XM18 3″ is starting to look pretty well used, as I never leave home without it. Occasionally, I’ll exchange it for one of my larger XMs, but I’ve decided those are usually too much knife. All of these items are carried on my person, or in an Speck ‘The Ruck’ backpack.”

This is an eclectic pocket dump for sure.

    Kimber? WTF?

    Where’s the Glock?

    1. avatar Setarip says:

Not a true edc unless it’s a Glock. Glocks are the best. They are literally called perfection by the manufacturer. They can shoot 10mm.

      1. avatar B.D. says:

Did you hear about Gen 6 yet? Leaked pictures on

        1. avatar Setarip says:

I have not. Truth be told, I am a revolver and HK guy.

    2. avatar Ing says:

I’m wondering why anyone would switch from a dead-nuts reliable Springfield to a Kimber. Other than style, of course; the Kimber sure does look nice.

      1. avatar Spanish Moss says:

Why switch from Springfield? Seriously? WTF? Are you brain dead? Cement between the ears? Tonedeaf?

Springfield sold out the entire 2A community and then posted a teary-eyed damage control vid that did nothing but reinforce their transgression. Personally, I’d rather die than use an anti-2A company gun in self defense. Springfield is dead to me. Never should you bend towards Springfield. They are nothing but fakes, posers, who claim to be an all-American company, but in reality they just import Eastern European hardware, and remake it as American. There is nothing Springfield about Springfield. The company is nothing more than a name and should be forced out of business ASAP! There is no place for trairors in the gun industry. We have enough enemy’s already.

        1. avatar B.D. says:

          Like Ford.

          Red Coat sympathizers.

        2. avatar Boy is this guy stupid says:

You’d seriously rather die in a self defense situation than use a Springfield?

  2. avatar Swarf says:

“What are things that jam, Alex?”

    1. avatar B.D. says:

      *sirens and red flashing lights

      “Today’s daily double…”

  3. avatar Jeremy D says:

    Transceiver for what?

    1. avatar B.D. says:

      …Tranceiving… duh.

    2. avatar Geoff "Mess with the Bull, get the Horns" PR says:

      “Transceiver for what?”

Communicating with others who also desire to communicate…

      1. avatar Guy who does stuff says:

        Transceiver = Transmitter/Receiver

Now you know (and knowing is half the battle!)

    3. avatar kahlil says:

for his vaping crew, ya know…the ones that just sit around hitting the vaping pipe and blowing rings of smoke while looking all cool-hipster-like.

  4. avatar Carrucan says:

The radio traffic on 70cm and 2M bands is so awful and infrequent, I am not sure why anyone would expend the effort to carry one of those radios daily. Using them for ARES volunteer service is OK, but that can quickly turn a hobby into work. Pass. CW rules. 73

  5. avatar kahlil says:

the only thing more idiotic than smoking is vaping, sucking on a piece of plastic or aluminum to get off on a nicotine cloud. I’d expect this guy to use a glock 😉

    1. avatar Guy who does stuff says:

      Lighten up, Francis.

      1. avatar kahlil says:

wow. orginal man, real original. now that your coolness has been exposed I feel like I need to take a hit on a vape to even match your level of sophistication.

        1. avatar 80 D says:

I kicked a 30 year pack a day habit *over night* with that exact device. I respectfully suggest you shove your opinion up your ass.

        2. avatar B.D. says:

I love it when people say that a vape helped them kick the habit…

You do know you just traded a bunch of chemicals for aluminum and plastic, and condensation gives you popcorn lungs. You are still addicted to nicotine, ya fucken idiot.

        3. avatar 80 D says:

True. But now I’m feeding my addiction at $1 a day vs $6. And safer than cancer sticks, too, as there are only 6 or so ingredients in ejuice none of which have been proven harmful and most of which you consume in food every day. Even nicotine, which is only good for giving a buzz and creating an addiction to search for that buzz, is not harmful in these quantities. The harm to lungs (and the rest of the body) is greatly reduced with respect to cigs. Further, popcorn lung has never been causally connected to vaping. Oh and the smell! The goddam reak of cigs is gone, too, which is a huge plus. So you see, there are many positives as I continue to work to break the addiction all of which are of benefit to me. Ya fucken idiot.

This pocket dump column is a waste of time to read. TTAG used to be good but now good articles are rare.

  7. avatar Kevin says:

A transceiver???? We used to call them radios………..It’s so he can sit around a talk to his “good buddies”.
