Everyday Carry Pocket Dump of the Day: Tyler

Tyler (not our Tyler) works in telecommunications. And from the looks of his gear, he was a Boy Scout. XD(M) in a HSP Incog rig. An extra mag in a Bravo Concealment mag holster. The boy is good and ready for just about anything. See all the details on the rest of what he’s toting at Everyday Carry.

  1. avatar Cliff H says:

These posts often leave me wondering just how many pockets these guys have.

And I’m familiar with rule #9 “Always carry a knife”, but four different blades?

    1. avatar Mattb says:

I always think the same thing, what’s with all of the knifes?

    2. avatar Benny the Jew says:

He might have a small backpack. I carry a Patagonia Stealth Atom wherever I go. It’s EDC without being a tacticool attention-getter. Highly recommended.

    3. avatar Sian says:

      Because five would be ostentatious.

  2. avatar Bob 15 says:

Three knives (five if you count the Leatherman blades) and two flashlights (three if you want to use the lighter for illumination).

What, no pocket watch? Second wristwatch for the other arm?

    1. avatar Lib lurker says:

Four lights if you count the flashlight on the phone

  3. avatar Koop says:

Two is one and one is none, indeed.

I’m sure this guy has a BUG, but didn’t include it since he doesn’t carry it every single day.

  4. avatar PooperScooper says:

An iPad? Everyday? That’s hardcore. Or something.

  5. avatar Smith wesson says:

  6. avatar MAC][ says:

I now have a pocket inferiority complex.

  7. avatar Tex300BLK says:

    If this were a meme:

“EDC pocket dump pictures – because normal people walk around with 3 knives, two flashlights, a multi tool, a Zippo, a pen and notepad bigger than any normal sized pocket I have ever seen, and enough keys to launch a nuclear missile”

Sorry (not really), but it’s hard to take some of these seriously.

Also why is there an empty phone case in the picture? You carry around enough shit that most people would require a backpack to carry with double and triple redundancies for some stuff and yet you had to steal your phone to take the picture? Amateur!

      1. avatar ActionPhysicalMan says:

Don’t do you no good if you got bunions.

      2. avatar Wrightl3 says:

        Baltimore reload?

  8. avatar ActionPhysicalMan says:

Did Jeff Cooper have a rule about a “field notes” pad or something? Where are these coming from and why don’t I have one.

      1. avatar APM mobile says:

I actually meant “why are these showing up so often?” Is it like when kids all decided that keys needed to be connected to them with cord/strap thingies?

        1. avatar Lib lurker says:

Moleskin started opening up little airport stores and more display racks and the product looks so damned neat and tidy you can just picture yourself jotting down important things and poetry

This guy appears to have spent too much on knives and got a knockoff notebook

    1. avatar Hannibal says:

I’m not sure if it’s a pure “tactic00l” element or an artifact from people who actually still have to carry notepads (cops).

  9. avatar Shire-man says:

I have thirtyfive cents and a key in my pockets right now.
    The pistol is IWB.

  10. avatar Jim In San Antonio says:

I need to put my EDC on there, just to set the low bar.

    1. avatar RandalI says:

Agreed. I’m inspired to completely underachieve . . . maybe tomorrow.

      1. avatar Timmy! says:

I tried but my phone is so crappy that I had a friend take the picture… then my web-fu was so crappy that I couldn’t get the picture loaded onto the EDC website in a size they would accept… then my attitude was so crappy that I gave up. Y’all are missing out too: Hello Kitty duct-tape change purse, purple Spyderco knife, aforementioned crappy phone, and all the other junk I really do carry every day. Dan Zimmerman has, or had, the picture in his inbox but sent me to the EDC site to keep everything on the up and up… or something, I guess.

  11. avatar Tal says:

Sometime I almost have the urge to call BS on these. But I guess it can be done. Maybe it depends how often you are walking around vs sitting down or traveling just here and there.

  12. avatar Kevin says:

This guy really needs another knife. Five is four and four is three.

  13. avatar RockOnHellChild says:

    Nice! Now that’s an EDC!

Field notes, again? What is the deal with the fields notes – it boggles the mind.

Is that the new trendy thing, or something?

    1. avatar Sian says:

There’s pretty much one waterproof notepad you can always reliably get and that’s it.

  14. avatar Cknarf says:

You guys sure carry a lot of shit.

  15. avatar Chad A says:

Must have a heck of a belt!

  16. avatar Col pottet says:

I carry a house key, a car key, a $20 burner phone and a gun.

  17. avatar Wrightl3 says:

Who carries all of this crap?

  18. avatar BJ says:

Starting to wonder if it is time to call bullshit on these posts.

Wow, lots of stuff there. I should post my pocket dump and get everyone to point and laugh.

  19. avatar Col pottet says:

Oh, and a bank card, drivers license and a few dollars and some loose change.

  20. avatar FormerWaterWalker says:

I was wondering why there was 25 comments(26)? That IS a lot of shite to carry…tacticool pants buddy?

  21. avatar g says:

    Nice. Lots of blades!

  22. avatar Justin Case says:

My IPhone has “Notes” built-in & if I hit the mic icon I don’t even have to type. It also replaces the flashlight, compass, deck of cards, newspaper, library, WIFI scanner, topology maps & a full set of encyclopedias. (Whew!)

    1. avatar Sian says:

How much good will that do you if you end up taking an unscheduled swim?

      1. avatar J says:

It takes about 6 second to upload to the “cloud” and can be retrieved at any computer, so if I take a swim it’s still available.
