Canada’s RCMP is investigating this “incident,” after a picture of a toddler handling a non-functional BB gun went viral. The reporter points out that the RCMP’s hands are tied because “there;s nothing illegal about a child holding a gun.” Yet.

  1. “I don’t like it’. I don’t like tomato sauce(long story). Ban spaghetti!

  2. And like the UK, silliness abounds in namby-pamby-Ness. Unfortunately, the US is right there with them kids with toy guns. Someone in (insert east coast or left coast city) would send child services to nab the parents and “re-educate” them.

    I weep for us.

  3. If there’s nothing illegal, then why are they investigating? Don’t reporters know how to ask pertinent questions nowadays?

  4. Not as good as several city blocks on shutdown after a 22LR round was found in the street somewhere in the UK.

    • Think of the fun of taking an old jar of junk ammo and running it through the polisher and dropping it bit by bit through London, here a hollow point, there an FMJ, pretty soon that whole bunch would be having a hissy fit and running for a safe space. The old thing of the Lone Ranger leaving a silver bullet behind would cause a collective national melt down! That bunch deserves most of the crap they have signed themselves up for.

    • It wasn’t even a .22LR, it was a .22 short, found in York. Panic ensued. Photos were taken with the hero who found it and the offending cartridge displayed on cotton.

      Bwahahahaaa….

  5. Lousy trigger and muzzle control. And who dresses a boy like that? 🙂

Notice I put the smiley face in there cause some of y’all don’t get my humor.

  6. Ah, those precious little snowflakes north of the border. Seems like they need their safe space, too.

Then, there’s the Canadian equivalent of a gun shop owner talking about his then 4-year-old learning to shoot a .22. I hope he realizes that with the current exchange rate, his .22 is roughly only a .172 here in the States.

    Beauty, eh?

    Take off, hoser.

  7. And he’s right in front of that murder death slowcooker thingy. Parents are doing a terrible job with this runt.

  8. Just another example of the rural-urban divide. Alberta, and the Canadian west in general struggles with how to deal with it. It certainly isn’t helped by media types whose experience of the outdoors is walking around Banff stirring the pot.

At least they included positive comments about teaching young shooters safety.

(BTW- the Calgary Shooting Centre has a really nice setup and some neat range rentals. Admittedly the 20 meter theatre range doesn’t really challenge the .50BMG all that much.)

  9. The woman at the 20 second mark, “we have enough violence with words”. WTF does that even mean?

        • Only if you buy from one of the stores that stocks guns and/or ammo. Also, avoid the cheap candies of dubious origin, the tools made in whateveristan, and make sure you watch for sales.

  10. The reporter points out that the RCMP’s hands are tied because “there;s nothing illegal about a child holding a gun.”

Why does their hands need to be tied? What kind of people are these.

  11. These idiots don’t realize that eventually there won’t be any patriotic individuals to protect them from the barbarians. Keep dumbing down and making our youth into entitled losers without any concept of personal pride, discipline, honor and duty, that will insure the barbarians take over. You get what you wanted, keep voting in people like Clinton. Use the countries which are an extension of the very government we revolted against to pattern the new world order for America, like England and Australia. Even Canada, those great societies where life is so good, it’s not.

I am not a conservative, I am just an American who has great love for the concept of freedom and this great country. The constitution is by far the greatest written word for the foundation of a country and society, why do they want to destroy it?

    • “The constitution is by far the greatest written word for the foundation of a country and society, why do they want to destroy it?”

      One word: Control.

    • Your reply is a bit like trying to imitate a Texan by adopting a New Yorker’s accent.

  12. Yet…being the key word. Rest assured legislation forming to make child touching an armament a felony for the adult. Child becomes ward of the state, and beaten by another foster child in an overcrowded home. Welcome to the machine.

  13. The story…sad and ludicrous.
The new site….intriguing but a less welcoming feel.
    Like fluorescent lighting.
More like the Washington post vrs a hometown newspaper.
I do appreciate the site, can’t imagine how your going to please all the players.good luck, I’ll roll with it.

  14. The Royal Liberal psychiatric wards have emptied up North…In a Socialist Lib-Fascist world gone crazy….all we can hope for is an asteroid, or a Comet to reset life as we know it….Maybe my retired vet dad is right…The cockroaches need a chance at civilization….

  15. People need to calm down and take a deep breath. I was taught to handle and shoot guns safely at a very young age . What these people are doing has been done for generations . Gun safety taught at a young age will stay with these kids for a life time . They will learn to respect a firearm for what it is. It is the kids that are not taught , that are more likely to cause damage or harm with a gun . Guns are not just for killing , like a lot of uninformed people think . It is very enjoyable to spent an afternoon with friends target shooting. Violence come in all forms and firearms are a very small part of it . There are more women, children and yes even men that are victims of physical violence every day than there is from a gun. The woman that gets beat from her violent husband or boyfriend . The child that gets beat because it was crying too much. The kid in the playground that gets beat because they are different . People need to open there eyes to the rest of the violence that is going on around them. Guns are not the problem , respect of everyone around you is.

Look for a retroactive law soon. You know, for the children, these people must be punished….
