The Gunner’s Vault Facebook page is reporting that the Discovery Channel has put the hit show Sons of Guns production schedule on hold. The info comes from Glenn “Flem” Fleming, self-described “former welder for Red Jacket Firearms” and “one of the guys on sons of guns.” Fleming texted Producer Chris at Gunner’s Vault, telling our man that Discovery Channel is weighing its options for Season Six. If the show is cancelled, no doubt Will Hayden’s recent legal troubles will have triggered the move. Hayden was recently arrested on child molestation charges.

    • Yeah…private companies don’t have due process requirements, those only apply to the government.

Bad press is bad press, so I wouldn’t be surprised if the story is true.

Guys the show is NOT cancelled! We so appreciate the outcry of injustice but its not true, I guess some ppl just need ratings lol! We are on a hold with filming while my family takes care of a few things. You guys are the best fans ever & we love you so much! Thank u for standing strong with us! ‪#‎BestFansEver‬ ‪#‎RedjacketStrong‬ ‪#‎SonsofGuns‬”

This was passed along and I wanted to pass it along to you as well.

        • When this show started you couldn’t get me to miss a showing! (BUT) after a short time the show became a show of all drama no gun building of anything to speak of! If we wanted drama we could ask to have Paten Place put back on the air! Sons of Guns was started to show us some real gun building know how, not disputes between the workers! Sorry it was time for the show to rethink it’s ability to build guns or have in house drama
          as it’s back drop.

      • I really hope that the show continues I love the gun builds. It would be cool to be involved with one of the builds on a show. I have built 3 AR15s my next will be an AR10 308 cal.

  1. What one second ! He is one of the POTG, how can he be a bad guy? This is incomprehensible. Impossible. Just like the shooting trainer guy (to be unnamed) who raped the kid on Team Glock. Impossible. POTG are perfect. They never are bad. They are ALL our brothers. We want everyone to have guns don’t we?

    Right. (snark off)

  2. While legal charges of this magnitude are pending, they couldn’t broadcast this without getting a lot of PR flack. At the same time, the show is a cash cow so assuming they believe the charges are false, I don’t think we’ve seen the last of it.

  3. guilty until prosecuted….my recent experience with fish and game shows that even if you are complying with the law the system will try to take everything…and women can accuse you of anything and the system considers you guilty….if you have testicles you are evil and guilty of everything

    • I know exactly what you mean…I’ve had to deal with a legal system in IL that basically, without going through due process, accused and incarcerated me because my ex girlfriend said that I caused injury to her during an altercation we had. So, to make a long story short, I did not have the time nor the money to sit in jail. And what do I get to fight for me? A POS public defender, who doesn’t care one way or another because he still gets paid either way. Talk about a hypocrisy for a system that we live in. There is no such thing as innocent until proven guilty — it’s more like you have testicles, you’re guilty, so pay us; we don’t care if you’re actually guilty.

    • +1

There is much personal liberty that comes from getting rid of the TV, and a whole heck of a lot of ‘free time.’

      • … or just unplug the cable or stop paying for your dish… 😉

I find my TV works great with Hulu.

  4. Ummm…wasn’t this cancelled anyway??? Before any allegations. So now it’s double extra death penalty gone. Got it.

  5. Truthfully, I lost interest in the show when the now son-in-law got his ‘claws’ into the show.

If Discovery was booting it for the recent accusations made against Will by some disgruntled ex-girl friend, it is very likely those charges have already been proven spurious since Child Services returned the young child back to the Hayden home after an extensive investigation. I think Discovery may be milking this for publicity and bring the show back or one of its competitors will. Obviously, there is an audience for the show, though it does not include me.

  6. I’m surprised it wasn’t cancelled last year in that spate of anti gun nonsense.

  7. I honestly didn’t know that the show was still being produced! HA! I watches the first season of it, came to the conclusion (as have most) that they are blithering idiots and never saw it again. Good riddance….and it has nothing to do with the molestation charges (which had already proven to be nothing other than a pissed off ex—the child was returned to Will’s custody, no charges filed).

  8. I have not love for RJF or their show. Matter of fact, I’m surprised it wasn’t cancelled before now.
Only good thing that came from RJF was their bullpup conversion, and even that has been a royal cluster-f**k that it still going on (check any gun forum for the ZK-22 and you’ll know what I mean).

“American Guns” was a better show (IMNSHO) yet it was cancelled way before “Sons of Guns.” Riddle me that. LOL!

  9. In American sadly sex crimes are a guilty until proven innocent type of crime. Your family, friends and even your spouse are liable to turn on you. Even if you win you lose, no doubt fired before even a trial. Peoples , even after winning in court will forever only know you as a criminal. Because the burder of evidence is so low to.charge sex crimes and the consequences so dire the names of the accused shouldn’t be public until after a conviction.

  10. Again. Still. I feel like this show has been on and off the air way too much the past few years.

  11. I think it is a rotten shame that someone can falsely accuse someone of something they didn’t do and the system can take advantage of it for their own sastifaction! Shame on them..Producers and everyone involved. To take this man’s life and turn it upside down is appauling!!!! What if that were the other way around….do they not care?
I hope they bring this show back on the air…it would be a shame if they didn’t.

    • Thank you, The one person most hurt is that 12 year old little girl. Her dad is her life! She loves no one else on this planet as much as she loves him. She is such a sweet heart. She is here every summer and my Son for the last 3 years has went to live with Will during the summer to work. Im sure kids are giving her Hell in school. At her age that is a tuff age for little girls anyway. My little girl comes home at least 2 times a week mad or crying because some girl or girls have done something to her. It is a tuff age for girls as stated . I am sure God has a special plan for the woman that did this. Thinking of only how to hurt someone and not giving a damn about who else it hurts.

  12. Too many dramatics, to much non professionalism. I can’t imagine what’s his name, going out and buying a major size building without his bosses approval.

  13. It was getting to be more “All My Children” in a gun shop anyway, and Will never impressed me as someone I’d be buddies with.

  14. I enjoy all types of gun shows, not many on. Hope it comes back. Better than a lot of the other crap.

  15. I lost interest in that show when all the shop personal drama started, and when they started blowing shit up.

  17. I believe Will’s daughter should know her dad better than anyone. A divorce is is often filled with false accusations aimed to hurt or ruin someone. I’m sure justice will prevail and he’ll be cleared and the show will go on.

  18. It is a scripted show. I can take it or leave it. I only watched to see what they were going to blow up that week.
Do you really think collectors of milsurp bring their howitzers and tanks and machine guns to RJF on their own?
No, they are searched out and probably funded by Discovery to make a show. RJF’s weapons are WAY overpriced. Just because they do a little customizing and slap their logo on it they charge 50% to 100% more for the same weapon. I wonder what my DPMS would have cost from RJF with their customizing?

  19. Personaly I have no use for him as he bullshitted me @ the SHOT show. Having said that I do not want to see him wrongfully convicted of something that he might not be guilty of. How about getting All of the facts before we pass judgement. I guess Discover channel has made up their mind. Hey if he is guilty then he should pay the price but lets be sure first.

    • I agree that it is improper to pass judgement without first having all the facts, and on this particular subject I will reserve judgement. However, having known Will, Stephanie, and Kris for quite a few years prior to and in the beginning of “Sons of guns”, including working for Will at Red Jacket during the transition to the newly constructed set ( next door to the old shop ) and during the shooting of the first season, I do find it exceptionally difficult to remain entirely unbiased. There is much about them that causes me to have doubt about Will’s innocence. I can say that Will is that rare example of an honorless marine. I can say that the only reason that the company exists at all now, is that Discovery came in at a critical moment and saved it with its huge influx of cash. I can say that the company and Will had a horrific reputation before the show and that the idea of safety was nonexistant within the company prior to Discovery showing up ( there are still quite a number of youtube vids of them firing automatic weapons at entirely useless piles of debris staked in front of the rear wall of the old shop. Many a bullet screamed its way through that industrial park after having exited that wall! ). They couldn’t be relied upon to pay their bills, their employees, or to provide timely delivery of the product they sold, often having orders cancelled for non-delivery. Although the show presented it otherwise, most of them didn’t and don’t know jack about firearms, let along how to build or repair them. Much that I havent listed here, added to what I have, leads me to be very doubtful of this being a set of false allegations.
