Here’s our man Nick, dry-testing the trigger on a tricked-out Steyr TMP at the SHOT Show last month. I had the chance to shoot one a few months ago (click here to read all about it), and I’m glad I got to check off another exotic gun on the “Call Of Duty” roster but this Austrian oddity was not much fun to shoot. I guess Nick doesn’t like the trigger either. (Feel free to ignore the Back To The Future-esque time stamp on the video.)

  1. (Feel free to ignore the Back To The Future-esque timestamp on the video.)

In three years, 1985 will be as far in the past for us as 1955 was to Marty and Doc Brown in the original movie.

In three years, we will be living in the year that Marty and Doc went forward to in Part II.

  2. I shot one of these back in 2008 at the Fort Benning 3 Gun Match in the vendor demo area, it wasn’t that bad. The trigger is very Glock like; hold it down and cycle the action and let it forward until you feel it reset and you’ll get a much better idea of what subsequent pulls will feel like.

  3. What’s the purpose of such a big, clunky 9mm pistol?

Its in the same boat as those MPA semi auto MAC clones. Kinda like all those high school kids who, after watching The Fast and the Furous, decided to throw a wing on their mom’s busted up civic and call it a race car.
