Here’s our man Nick, dry-testing the trigger on a tricked-out Steyr TMP at the SHOT Show last month. I had the chance to shoot one a few months ago (click here to read all about it), and I’m glad I got to check off another exotic gun on the “Call Of Duty” roster but this Austrian oddity was not much fun to shoot. Apparently I’m cultured, I always spell it theatre.
In fact I have a hard time not spelling theater as theatre. I actually had to go back and type “theater” after typing “theatre.”
I always thought “theater” was the place and “theatre” was the industry.

As far as I know, Steyr no longer makes the TMP. That’s a B&T MP9.
I speak generically; the suck-tacular trigger is endemic to the design of the gun.
I shot one of these back in 2008 at the Fort Benning 3 Gun Match in the vendor demo area, it wasn’t that bad. The trigger is very Glock like; hold it down and cycle the action and let it forward until you feel it reset and you’ll get a much better idea of what subsequent pulls will feel like.
What’s the purpose of such a big, clunky 9mm pistol?
Its in the same boat as those MPA semi auto MAC clones. Kinda like all those high school kids who, after watching The Fast and the Furous, decided to throw a wing on their mom’s busted up civic and call it a race car.
