Were you lucky enough to score tickets to this year’s Super Bowl XXXIVLTKP in Indy? Or are you just a supportive alum, cheering on the old alma mater every Saturday at the U? Have you thought about what to do if the worst happens while you’re there? Well, someone’s been training for that possibility. As tactical-life.com reports, The Texas Tactical Police Officers Association, thinks about it and runs a stadium sniper course, training its members to deal with a bad situation in a packed stadium. Turning the Cotton Bowl into one of the slickest shooting ranges in the state, they get SWATties familiar with taking 125 yard 45 degree downangle shots after sprinting to the top of a venue. The only real question is, have they thought about the revenue raising potential of operating a fantasy camp?

  1. The only real question is, have they thought about the revenue raising potential of operating a fantasy camp?

This is going to be a revenue raising potential for somebody.

  2. So the shooting stand will appear at the top of the stadium in perfect position by a miracle? So much for realistic training. They need to run up, plop their backpack on the rail for a rest, and then shoot.

  3. dude why the fuck are cops shooting in a stadium with sniper rifles. I mean its cool and all, but i seriously dont understand the application of this in any real world action. Wouldnt the most likely threat be a riot? were do sniper rifles fit into that? again i wouldnt mind trying it, but the cops probabbly shouldnt be the ones doing it

    • its because stadiums are one of the most crowded and visible public places there is and would likely make a good target for terrorist/shooting spree activity.

i think Tom Clancy wrote a book about that. though that involved a bomb.
