Well as much as I hate to admit this. These men need to know how to disassemble, clean, fix, and reassemble their firearms fast. I would rather spend the money training them how to do it then berrying them because they did not know how. That is a harse statement yes. But, it is also a fact of life. Better trained less likely to die.
