Thief Poses With Stolen Rifle, Stormy Arms Up and Israel Loosens its Gun Laws –TTAG Daily Digest

An AR-15 was stolen from unmarked police car. Teen who posed with it on Instagram is now charged.

Police work is so much easier when the criminal self-identify . . .

Moses Clay, 17, was arrested after police say he stole the weapon and gear and posed with it on Instagram.

The deputy noticed the gun was missing after leaving the car parked for several hours on Aug. 14 near a shopping plaza in Boynton Beach. He reported the incident to Boynton Beach police. A ballistic helmet, gas mask, rifle clips and a training gun also were missing, the deputy reported.

Boynton Beach police say surveillance video showed Clay leaving the parking lot in a car they later found in the area.

Detectives also said they found a video of Clay showing off a similar gun on an Instagram post while dancing and rapping to music, according to a probable cause affidavit. Police identified the gun from the video by its customized features, which matched those of the deputy’s.

Stormy Daniels ‘buys a GUN and hires bodyguards’ over fears her life is in DANGER

Extending her fifteen minutes . . .

THE US porn star Stormy Daniels has bought a gun and hired security because she’s worried for her life, a friend has revealed.

It’s claimed the adult star, 39, believes she is in danger after revealing her alleged affair with US president Donald Trump.

She also fears pulling out of Celebrity Big Brother this week has made her more of a target.

A source close to the star told The Mirror: “She feels like everyone seems to be against her — Trump fanatics, his aides and even her own fans who will miss out on her appearing on the show.”

And they insisted Stormy wasn’t interested in money.

Ex-cop shot himself to death with gun he’d turned in to police years earlier

And yet he managed to get it back, despite a lack of a FOID card. Imagine that . . .

A former Cicero police officer took his own life in June using his old service pistol — a weapon he wasn’t supposed to have.

Donald Garrity, 44, died June 6. He shot himself in his Plainfield home, according to police records. The death was ruled a suicide, and the case was closed.

Now, authorities have reopened the case after the Chicago Sun-Times told Plainfield police that the gun Garrity used to end his life was his police service pistol, a Glock 17. He had turned it over to law enforcement years earlier when his Firearm Owners Identification card was revoked due to mental health issues, records show.

The challenges of regulating 3-D-printed guns

Good luck stopping that signal . . .

Critical parts for more powerful weapons such as AR-15-style rifles can be produced using 3-D printing. An AR-15’s lower receiver is the only part of the gun that has a serial number, and the only part that requires a background check to purchase. The 3-D-printing of the lower receiver creates an untraceable gun.

The AR-15 is a highly customizable weapon, and all the other necessary parts to build a working rifle can be purchased without a background check. …

The quality of material used by most 3-D-printers is not durable enough to reliably handle the enormous stresses a firearm must endure. The 3-D-printers that fabricate with metal do exist but are expensive. The technology is evolving, however, and new materials could make stronger fabrications. And the growth of the 3-D-printer market could make the technology cheaper, more commonplace and spur more innovation.

Israel loosens gun laws for army combat veterans

Mazel tov . . .

Israel eased restrictions on gun ownership Monday in a move intended to increase the number of weapons in circulation, allowing Israelis to more effectively respond to Palestinian terrorism.

According to the Israeli news site Ynet, the Ministry of Public Security’s new licensing policy will open up gun ownership to hundreds of thousands of veterans, although they will still be required to pass the same rigorous screening procedures in place. Only those living in the West Bank or working in professions that required weapons, such as security guards, had been eligible for ownership.

“Many civilians have saved lives during terror attacks,” Minister of Public Security Gilad Erdan was quoted as saying. “In an era of lone-wolf terror attacks, the more armed and trained civilians there are, the larger the chances of disrupting an attack and decreasing casualties.”

‘Bout time in Israel. Still, the requirement to have had rifle training in the IDF will significantly limit civilian access. My understanding is that most women do not have that level of training.
I’m [hopelessly] waiting for the authorities to allow people like me to carry when we visit.

    1. avatar anonymoose says:

I thought they had universal conscription there, at least for basic stuff? I went to high school with an Israeli girl who had to go back to do IDF service. She was a weirdo though, and wanted to be a drill sergeant so she could boss people around. At least this is a step forward. They’re almost to the “long hours of training and range time over multiple days before you can get your CHL” level…

      1. avatar Alexander says:

Most women in the IDF and many men do not do anything useful during their service at all. They work in offices, bring coffee, and waste time. Select few get excellent training, but only few.

        1. avatar neiowa says:

Yes the widespread myth of the Sabra Amazon warrior of the left. See also the Russian women sniper/warrior.

Rockpainting and potato peeling detail is what you end up with in a conscript Army. Their time is of no value so no problem wasting it in order to fill the day.

Israel would be wise to completely abandon their marxist/prog euro model of 20th century. Should be obvious by now it is nonsense.

      2. avatar Chewy says:

All IDF soldiers receive basic firearms training and (at least) perform basic sentry and patrol duty regardless of their other duties.

    2. avatar frank speak says:

      Moses?…obviously a jewish kid…no?

      1. avatar neiowa says:

Always “interesting” when the MSM media “forgets” to include a physical description. Truly puzzling, not.

  2. avatar former water walker says:

Oh Stormy the Brits offered you $950000 for a weeks “work”. She reportedly wanted $125000 just to appear…talk about greedy. And stupid. Like young Moses stealing that idiot cops AR. And WHO is surprised an ex-Cicero cop got his Glock back?!? Al Capone lived on in Cicero(with a Mexican flavor now)😄

    1. avatar ANONNYMOUS says:

I have seen it posted that

“vehicles are about as secure as a tent”

If that’s true, what is the protocol for how long LEO’s can leave their vehicles unattended while firearms are onboard? Is this a case of no accountability? I learn from stuff like this.

      1. avatar Nut Butter says:

It was an unmarked car so my guess is it didn’t have the locking rack near the central console.

  3. avatar New Continental Army says:

“Shot himself to death”? Did he have to shoot more then once? The imagine I had in my mind, had the dude unloading a mag into his own chest.

  4. avatar Alexander says:

The cops need to drop all charges and apologize to the kid, his family, and the community. They have obviously baited him to steal that AR-15. Really, if the cops leave an assault rifle in a car in a depraved neighborhood, where they have barely anything to eat and everyone attends college, shouldn’t they expect it to be stolen? A clear sign of racism and baiting!

  5. avatar Bill in Oregon says:

A ballistic helmet, gas mask, rifle clips and a training gun also were missing, the deputy reported.

The deputy had his AR stolen out of his car and he reports that his rifle clips were also stolen???? Sounds like the media changed something here.

  6. avatar Chris T in KY says:

We as gun owners need to be serious about firearm security. Government civilians will never be held accountable for a lost weapon. Unless you are in the military. Then you are court Martialed.

The Jewish state of Israel with its socialist, Left wing government, is not an example of Liberty. But it is the best example of a free country in that region of the world.

    1. avatar Nut Butter says:

Ok two pump chump we will tell them.

    2. avatar Terclinger says:

Israel’s govt. is not left wing nor socialist.

      1. avatar neiowa says:

ONLY true if your metric is the rest of eurp. Their entire gov’t model is UK/Frog socialism. Just enough vicious arab hate to focus the mind on the reality of what it takes to survive. They have not adopted the US Constitutional model for success. To their detriment.

  7. avatar Gov. William J Le Petomane says:

Wow, I would have never guessed that Stormy Daniels was still in her 30s.

    1. avatar Alexander says:

      I think she’s been 39 for a few years.

      1. avatar Gov. William J Le Petomane says:

        Ah! She’s Jack Benny’s age.

    2. avatar Bloving says:

Money is remarkably effective at motivating people to maintain their physical fitness and overall appearance when a given line of work demands it.

I’m not being paid to look this good… I just like to flex whenever I pass a window or mirror.

      1. avatar Gov. William J Le Petomane says:

I learned some time ago that 12 pack abs are much easier to maintain than the 6 pack ones.

        1. avatar Scoutino says:

          Keg abs are even easier.

  8. avatar Ralph says:

    “Stormy Arms Up”

And why not? The Second Amendment is for everybody, even prostitutes.

    1. avatar Nut Butter says:

Prostitutes are for everybody, and catho priests should consider their services every once in a while. The 2A is for everybody, even convicted felons, psychopath, schizos, bipolars, gang members and associates, illegals…

    2. avatar Ed Schrade says:

If she leaves her pistol somewhere, it will be easy to identify, it’s the one with lipstick around the barrel.

        Around the rear sight.

  9. avatar Ing says:

“And the growth of the 3-D-printer market could make the technology cheaper, more commonplace and spur more innovation.”

Oh no, innovation! However will we cope?

Fear not, proles, for the government intends to squelch it.

  10. avatar Nanashi says:

If they were smart enough to not display proof of their crimes on the internet, they’d have a real job.

  11. avatar Armadillo15 says:

Which specific features? Other than the rear sight it looks like a pretty standard carbine to me.

  12. avatar Mike W. says:

“Semi automatic police rifle” according to the press release on this situation – NOT a too dangerous for SIMPLE IGNORANT civilian shooters ASSAULT RIFLE !
Stormy needs help carrying around her fake fun bags more so than needing “protection” from Trump.
Another lie by MSM, he was NOT ALLOWED by LAW to have that pistol, so it MUST have been MURDER or Trump…..
    Go Israel !

  13. avatar Terclinger says:

Stormy is suddenly worried about getting shot in the face? Anderson Cooper will be happy to sub for her!

    1. avatar Ironhead says:

Funny…. from her career choice I figured she liked being shot in the face.

      1. avatar Thom Ream says:

For the love of Pete, where’s a rimshot when you need one???

And BTW, WTH is Pete anyway???

  14. avatar Ranger Rick says:

Once again Illinois “sensible firearms safety laws” failed to achieve their purpose.

  15. avatar John Boch says:

    Isn’t Stormy a prohibited person?

    1. avatar Geoff "Mess with the Bull, get the Horns" PR says:

      AFAIK, there’s no law against a prohib. person hiring a non-prohib. person…

      1. avatar KBonLI says:

The article said “Stormy (Stephanie A. Gregory Clifford) buys a gun”

  16. avatar Zeke says:

    “She also fears pulling out…”

I’d think for Stormy, that’s business as usual.
