    • Since we’re in French mode, LaRue peut aller se faire foutre.

Few things get under my skin more than their “especially our snipers” stickers.

  1. I still don’t understand why a grown man would allow a 12 gauge shotgun to recoil into his groin…

    • In a country of freedom and liberty, unless the person is hurting you, you don’t need to understand why they do what they do. We need to get back to understanding freedom instead of trying ot put people into a certain box.

  2. I started watching the show. Got bored. It was just another reality show about has been stars and their families. Discovery channel has really gone down hill.

  3. well I can say im not disappointed in cutting the cable or missing the live stream of the show after reading the live blog of it after the fact, that being said I might play the show at a party or something just for the LaRue drinking game.

I do have one question for those that played the drinking game did the show get better as it went along or worse, just wondering how beer goggles work for guns and gun shows.

    • I didn’t even see the show, but I probably had more fun than some those who did. I followed the live-blogging just for the “LaRue!” shenanigans, but these bastards started to cry LaRue so many times my drink only lasted about three minutes.

      PS: Wolverines!

  4. I actually liked the show. Teds ballistic tacticalizing terminalization of the english language is part of the fun. I found him remarkably restrained. I likened his presentations and experiences on the range to those of R. Lee Ermey in “Mail Call”.

The contrived story of need to cull a bull from his herd and having the zero potentially knocked out of his rifle necessitating the need for a brand new one, and the adventure that entails was transparent, but about as “high caliber” (did I say that?) as you could expect.

It was lightweight and fun, non confrontational, apolitical, Ted Nugent being Ted Nugent and keeping his foot out of his mouth. It was more fun than “Sons of Guns” or “American Guns”, neither of which I care for much at all with their contrived customers and irrelevant profit pressure and employee drama.

I don’t see it as being a series. It said “Special” on my program listing. I think it would where thin on content if they made this a series (oh, wait, all of these shows are thin on content…what was I thinking).

But, overall, better than I expected.

  5. I liked the show. Maybe I didn’t like it enough to watch it every week, but it’s a big improvement over soap operas like Sons of Guns / American Guns and their ilk. What I like best is that guns have now become so mainstream that even the Motor City Madman can have a prime-time gun-oriented show. We’ve come a long way, baby!

  6. What I’d really like to see is a “Top Gear” (the British version) for guns. That I would watch weekly and I think a lot of others would as well.

    • Oh that would be cool.
Question is who would the shooters be?
I vote for Nick, Dan, and Robert!!!
Then they can have the rest of us regulars cycle through as victims, errr I mean guests.. 🙂

        • Just imagine the “Celebrity 3-Gun Stage” segment of the show – where they take a non-shooter, give them instruction from The Stig’s Marksman Cousin (or whatever), run them through a 3-gun course, and then interview them about the experience afterward. “Well Robert, I was really scared at first ’cause, y’know, ‘assault rifle’. But it didn’t jump up and bite me, the suppressor made it a lot less uncomfortable to be around than I expected, and I think I really had a lot of fun today. ………So what was my score? I’d be happy with anything between Bar Rafaeli and Paul Ryan *lean forward*”

    • he’s a draft dodging “patriot” that’s dubbed the motor city madman. Famous for music and making an ass out of himself. He is good at making gun owners look crazy and not walking the walk that his big mouth talks…. had a student deferment from Vietnam while he was touring with his band/ failed the physical by “30 days before his Draft Board Physical, he stopped all forms of personal hygiene. The last 10 days he ingested nothing but junk food and Pepsi, and a week before his physical, he stopped using the bathroom altogether, virtually living inside his pants caked with excrement and urine.” I like the music. like the sound clips he gives us, and I like his love of firearms, but I have no respect for him. I would rather watch a show where he kisses the a$$&s of soldiers actually living what he talks about.

  7. I always enjoy the MCM’s enthusiasm, but his kids out herding the animals around the ranch so Ted can pick one off? C’mon….

Staged explosions and such put it in the same heap with Sons of Guns and the other ridiculous stuff out there. Shows like these are not helping the public image of gun owners.
