On a side note, how on earth do you get a good cheek weld with the scope mounted that high? looks like about a 2″ riser is needed.

That was my first read on that photo too, hehe.
I hear all this cheek weld business all the time, but the Russians seem to have no problem with their goofy-ass scope mounts sitting way up. I’m sure he’ll be fine.
Scoped AK variants may sit a bit high, but hardly to that level. That even looks higher than a scoped M1a – and everyone adds cheek-rests to those.
