Spree Killer James Holmes Was On Psychiatric Dugs

The blogger — and yes conspiracy theorist — over at hangthebanksers.com is having a major “I told you so” moment. “The establishment tried to bury [the fact that Holmes was heavily medicated for mental illness] for as long as possible, but as the LA Times now reports, ‘District Judge Carlos A. Samour Jr. reversed previous rulings on public access and made public the arrest affidavit and 12 search warrants.’ Those search warrants reveal James Holmes was taking a chemical cocktail of psychiatric drugs, including Sertraline, a generic version of Zoloft (antidepressant) and Clonazepam, a benzodiazepine drug known to have ‘hypnotic properties.'” Whether Holmes was on his meds or off his meds when he launched his murderous mayhem, HTB is spot-on when he writes “Two mind-altering prescription psychiatric drugs, alcohol and a gun… the media blames the gun.” I wonder what Adam Lanza was taking.

  1. Needless to say, I have not read this bill either. But of all the players involved I have the greatest respect and faith in the SAF. I back that up with checks. If we have lost the SAF which I do not believe we have, we are forked anyway. There was never an Internet loophole as far as I can tell. If a gun must be shipped to an FFL he or she won’t let the gun leave their store without a properly completed NICS form, so where’s the “Loophole”??? I see no purpose in trying to prove identity over the net (iffy at best) before shipping.

  2. Government Pledge, it goes on shiny, the gloss just doesn’t last long though. As others splained any state can go full retard fast except some of the southern ones They are not totally immune either, but I sure wouldn’t want to be pushing gun control in Texas, a person could wake up dead, Randy

  3. I skimmed over the comments & seen one person mention this and I’ll reconfirm it.

The sponsorship of the race was an “At Track” sponsorship, it was not the “Broadcast” sponsorship. The way these things work is the sponsor pays the track, then if they also want their name/branding mentioned during the TV/Radio broadcast they have to pay (sponsor) the broadcast as well.

This is not the first time it’s happened & won’t be the last time this season either and it’s not just NASCAR that it happens in it’s pretty much all televised motorsports. Another example of this is that often times Friday at the tracks are sponsored by a local company, for example at my local track Pocono the events on Friday are part of “Weis Markets Pole Day” with Weis Markets being the sponsor of all Friday events yet you never hear them mentioned on the TV coverage because they’re simply an “At Track” sponsor & not a “Broadcast” sponsor.

So in short there is no conspiracy, no agenda, no hidden message, it’s just simply how that part of the sponsorship works.

    • That’s an interesting point. I’m not disputing it, but do you know of any other “at track” sponsors for whom the race is named on the top-tier Sprint Cup circuit who weren’t also the broadcast sponsor? I’m not saying it’s never happened, but I don’t recall watching a Winston/Sprint Cup “So-and-so 500” in the past where the “So-and-so” part was so obviously left out.

I will note that as of just now when I looked, the foxsports.com Results page that I linked in my original email at the top of this post now has the race listed as the “NRA 500” instead of the “2013 Nascar Racing at Texas” that it had yesterday morning.

  5. Not: “….Psychiatric Dugs” But: “…..Psychiatric dRugs” there’s irony in the miss-spelling. I’m totally busting your chops, this is the best website on the net, don’t change a thing, except your spell check.

Thanks for spreading the truth, Robert.

  6. RF, you’re giving free promotion to a “Jewish cabal secretly rules the world” site with the naming and linking in your first sentence.

  7. I’m digging the combat cargo pants.

Are those dump bags they have? I don’t think I would be worried about keeping my $15 magazines if things got ugly with a real shooter. Are they expecting an extended combat scenario where they will expend all of their ammo and have to reload magazines with an ammo resupply? I know it’s nitpicking but it still made me wonder. I hate having extra items that add weight or hit my legs if I need to run.

  8. Was it James Bond that had a gun in his umbrella and S. Holmes had a sword in his umbrella or was it both ???

  9. I just got a Garand for future CMP matches. It’s legal everywhere (for now) decently accurate and doesn’t cost an arm and a leg. If you already have both a Garand and an M1A, find out which one is more accurate and easier for you to operate and go to a match. Try it out and see how you like it before you drop a grand on another gun. I am preparing to give 3 gun a shot this summer, but I am using stuff I already own and buying only what I currently lack.(AK, XD and Mossy 500 persuader. Yes it’s a weird combo) I might find out 3 gun is not for me and I would not want to spend thousands on guns I won’t use and I never sell guns.

  10. I’m interested to see some responses from actual competitors as I’m in a similar situation. From what I know (and it isn’t much) any standard issue battle rifle including a 30-40 Krag and up to a M16 or it’s civilian replica can be used. Obviously some trade-offs on long range vs short range depending on which caliber you opt to use. Seems like most current entrants are choosing to go with an AR-15. There’s a lot of really accurate NM ARs being built these days from a variety of companies. Mine is a Rock Rick NM A4 which I picked up (pre-Sandy Hook) for just shy of $1000. I have M1A and M1 Garand as well, but because I’m a lefty and single loading prone with these rifles is a real challenge I’m more inclined to use the AR. I have no idea if a Sig M400 could be used, I don’t think so but I can’t tell you why. I think the basic rule is that from the outside at least the rifle has to match exactly the std military version of that rifle, meaning no flip up sights, 20″ barrell, A2 buttstock, etc.

As for how you really get going into the competitions, I too have only done a couple local club matches, really just primers to real competitions. I’d like go further with it, but like you don’t know how to move to the next step.

  11. This idiot (Alan Gottlieb) is dead wrong. I purchased one of my 9mm at a gun show and I had to have a permit from the county sheriff In order to get a permit they have to run a background check on you. They want to be able to keep guns out of the hands of crooks and the mentally disturbed. Does anyone on here know a crook or a mentally disturbed person that has applied for a permit or background check?

  12. I will not support this and will end my memebership with SAF.This just a feel good attempted bi partisan(comprimise) to keep the Dems in office in 2014 that are up for reelection.

  13. The Trayvon Martin situation is what inspired me to finally get my CCW. I’m a young Black male who from time to time likes to wear hoodies as I live in a city that is often wet and cold. At the time of the incident I didn’t own a car so I had to take the bus and part of my daily commute to and from work involved walking through neighborhoods where I “didn’t belong”. I wasn’t there. I can’t claim to know what happened between those two but I could have easily been profiled and killed the same way he was.

Now I carry my trusty 1911 and somebody bent on attacking me will get their world rocked by a face full of .45 ACP. I have been around firearms my entire life but this event was the last straw for me to carry cocked and locked at all times outside of my house.
