A member of TTAG’s Armed Intelligentsia sent me this communication between Colorado commodity broker Ann Barnhardt and someone unhappy with her views on Islam. Our guy sent it along with this comment: “I first thought that this was an URBAN LEGEND, but I found that it is REAL.” And really stupid. Bravado may get you column inches (especially around here), but it can also get you killed. While there are beliefs worth dying for, suicide by stupidity doesn’t really help your cause—unless you’re looking to become a martyr. Which is not the Judeo-Christian way. I was hoping she would be a little more clear stating her position on Islam. 🙂
While I approve of her stance of “Come at me Bro” I also feel like any prosecuting attorney would love to have those kind of posts and emails as evidence to try and make her out to be some sort of blood thirsty wack job chomping at the bit to get into a gunfight.

After being arrested while protesting, proselytizing and distributing literature at the June 2010 Arab Festival in Dearborn, MI:

Islam is like a skin rash. If you don’t do something about it, eventually it will cover you entirely. What I love most about Muslims is how they attack us and then cry about being victims when we try to fight back. Typical bully behavior.

But what happens when she meets a responsible, modern Muslim of whom millions live in America? Every religion goes through a period of reformation. Remember the inquisition? Christianity has come a long way, and so will Islam if we work to cut out the bad parts and let people practice their religion peacefully. I also think we need to be careful of lumping all Muslims together. I personally know many Muslims who are patriotic Americans and who think that jihadists are disgusting. With that being said, anyone who wishes to commit unjustified homicide deserves pretty close scrutiny (or a bullet to the head).

Religions emanating from the middle east have a history of viciousness. King David was a warrior king who seemed to get a big charge out of slaying nonbelievers when he wasn’t bumping off family members. The Catholic Church used to host a community barbecue called the auto da fe, where the menu included Jews and heretics who were roasted slowly and basted with a piquant sauce. Now it’s the turn of the Muslims to act like savages. The only difference is that we are here for their act of faith, and the weapons have gotten a whole lot deadlier.
Does that mean that we should lay down fo those terrorist bastards, or that we should somehow feel bad for them? No. Period. If they want so badly to meet their maker, we should try to arrange the meeting. But let’s not for a second believe that “our” religions are or were a whole lot nicer than theirs.
