BREAKING: California Anti-Gun Crusader Leland Yee Sentenced to 5 Years for Gun Running

Technically, the former California state senator and ardent civilian disarmament advocate was sentenced for pleading guilty to trading political favors for campaign contributions. But as the LA Times reports, “Yee admitted in a plea deal that he was part of a racketeering conspiracy that involved exchanging official acts for money, conspiring to traffic in weapons and money laundering.” So now the man who did everything he could to keep law-abiding Golden Staters disarmed will be spending his time in an impeccably tailored orange jumpsuit and Velcro sneakers with his former partner in crime, Raymond “Shrimp Boy” Chow wondering where it all went wrong. It’s a little early in the day for champagne, but this Flor de las Antilles is tasting awfully good right now.

        BWAWAHAHA! Good one!

      2. avatar Bill says:

Don’t bet on it. He’s in California!

        1. avatar Fish'n Shoot says:

Don’t bet on it.. he’ll serve 2 years, if he’s not pardoned by Obama sooner.. and then up for re-election following year.. AND WIN. Stupid commie retard state, Commifornia

      3. avatar Bobby Blob says:

Lets hope he gets raped and shanked a few dozen times in prison.

      4. avatar Resident CT says:

I wouldn’t write Leland off, he might just have found his constituency.
In Democrat controlled Connecticut there is a corrupt politician that “served” his 7 years in prison to be re-elected.

“Joseph Peter Ganim (born October 21, 1959) is an American politician and mayor of Bridgeport, Connecticut. A Democrat, Ganim was elected mayor of the city five times, and served from 1991 to 2003, when he resigned after being convicted on federal felony corruption charges. Released in 2010 after serving time in federal prison, Ganim returned to Bridgeport and successfully made a political comeback in 2015 when he again won election as mayor,[2] and was sworn in on December 1, 2015.[1]”

  1. avatar Rambo Shopper says:

    That’s it? Five years.

Anyone know what a commoner might be sentenced to for similar crimes?

    1. avatar Shire-man says:

The catch is a commoner wouldn’t be in a high power position to commit these crimes.
But grandma would get 5 years for growing a plant to help ease her pain.

    2. avatar Ben B says:

Ruling class rules are just a little different that for us commoners. Seems to me that a sentence of about FOUR TIMES that would make sense, simply BECAUSE he’s in the ruling class.

    3. avatar uncommon_sense says:

You or I would be spending at least 10 years in prison for those charges. Something stinks.

    4. avatar Jonathan - Houston says:

What ever happened to dealing with corrupt officials by cutting off their nose, sewing them into a bag with a wild animal, then throwing that bag into the river? Was Kevin Costner just making that up?

    5. avatar BOOGIE BOI says:

Upwards of 20 years without a doubt

  2. avatar Rambeast says:

How much time would a private individual be sentenced to?

    1. avatar 10mm says:

For “exchanging official acts for money?” I think that’s called “work”…

    2. avatar Raoul Duke says:

10 years and a $250,000 fine PER GUN.

  3. avatar California Richard says:

Crap…. Absolute crap…. He should have been dragged out and run through the mud. Feds should have offered 20 years or trial and stuck to their guns. This guys has done more damage than an entire criminal street gang and all he does is 5 years at a low security federal pen.. .. crap

  4. avatar Geoff PR says:

    Hey, Leland?

When you get to your assigned bunk, you may find a candybar on it.

    Enjoy the candybar. 🙂

  5. avatar PeterW says:

Recount! Is a firing squad still out of the question?

    1. avatar Geoff PR says:

“Is a firing squad still out of the question?”

Aw, c-mon! A firing squad is too quick.

The image of him bent over something with a wadded-up t-shirt stuffed in his mouth for a gag while getting his “initiation” to prison life is a *much* more satisfying fate for that fvckwit… 🙂

      1. avatar Ben B says:

A firing squad of five, that takes one shot per minute… and no head or chest shots… That would be fitting.

        1. avatar Geoff PR says:

No, the thought of him getting cornholed again and again over the next 4 and a half *years* is far more satisfying… 🙂

        2. avatar Vv ind says:

He’ll be getting shots from a prisioner firing squad aiming up his rear

  6. avatar Mike says:

The story this morning was that the feds wanted 8 years minimum and the defense lawyers asked for no more that 5 years 8 months because of his “long public service and his wife is ill”. Anyone want to bet that he never serves a day?

    1. His “long public service” should actually factor in for MORE time. He broke the voters trust and abused that very position of power. For all we know, he was up to no good from the get go on all sorts of things.

    2. avatar DC says:

I’ll take that bet. He’s going away on federal charges, which means no parole and only 54 days per year served off for good behavior.

  7. avatar MiniMe says:

5 years for “gun running” is a joke, and in Commiefhornia of all places. He’s one of “them” so he gets a slap on the wrist.

“All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others.”

Would not surprise me if he just serves maybe a month in jail and then is moved to a Club Fed somewhere, for his “safety.”

    1. avatar Stray Dogg says:

Leland Yee is a Communist Chinaman, born in Communist China. When we elect foreigners from different cultures who are used to authoritarian systems in their home countries, this is what we get. When we allow immigrants from Communist countries, they are so used to an authoritarian system of government, that they will vote for these kinds of people because on balance they still end up with more freedom that they were used to in their home countries.
It is outrageous to watch some foreigner worm his way into our political system and then rule like a dictator while they scheme to deny us our basic human rights.
He once said in an interview concerning outlawing AR15 rifles, “There is no argument, I decided”. They are not just like us and regardless of having a document proclaiming they are Americans, they are not, nor will they ever be Americans. There may be exceptions, but why take the chance of getting someone like this?
How about we stop voting for these people and elect actual Americans who understand our values and respect our Constitution?

      1. avatar Fish'n Shoot says:

Yeah, because there are absolutely no corrupt white politicians?
WTF are you smoking.. You are what make Conservatives and the GOP look like a bunch of stupid redneck hillbillies, and why Hillary or Colonel Sanders will probably be our next President.

        1. avatar Huntmaster says:

I work with a Cambodian woman who hates leftist scum with more intensity than Stray Dog could ever imagine. That includes Communists, Socialists and Scocialsts parading as Democrats and she can smell one, (according to her) from a hundred yards away. Why the animosity? She had to hide under the dead bodies of her mother and sister for two days until she could get away from the murdering communists. She literally snarls when Bernie or Hillary appear on television.

    2. avatar Random_Commenter says:

Seriously, why no mention of “gun” or “firearm” in the LA Time article? Talk about burying the lead.
No link to a previous “Sen. Leland Yee” articles, either.
It’s nice to see that his wiki page has been updated already.

  8. avatar gs650g says:

Now he spends quality time with people locked up under laws he voted for. How many packs of cigarettes will he fetch?

  9. avatar jwm says:

    Yee down. hillary to go.

    1. avatar Ebby123 says:

    2. avatar Geoff PR says:

      “Yee down. hillary to go.”

There’s good news about that possibility:

“A federal judge on Tuesday ruled that State Department officials and top aides to Hillary Clinton should be questioned under oath about whether they intentionally thwarted federal open records laws by using or allowing the use of a private email server throughout Clinton’s tenure as secretary of state from 2009 to 2013.”

Remember, when being questioned under oath, it’s not the crime, but the *attempt* to cover it up that trips most people up.

Lying under oath is a *Felony*.

      Example, like Martha Stewart. 🙂

      1. avatar jwm says:

        Or bill clinton?

  10. avatar Kendahl says:

At least it’s federal time not state time where he gets out in a year or two.

  11. avatar Mr. 308 says:

Must be nice to be a connected, mobbed up piece of crap like him.

Deals in guns, lies to the public and his constituents, real nice. Violating the public trust and using his position of power to enrich himself is a crime against all the public and should be treated more harshly! He didn’t just ‘trading political favors for campaign contributions’, that is beyond the pale.

Every vote he participated in should be nullified and brought back.

How many were killed with guns from this guy? How much crime was committed? 5 years?

He should be doing 30 in the same prison you or I would get sent to if we did this.

Some justice system we got there.

But in my heart I know it’s Yee.

Do not mock my favorite dish!

As we speak people of the gun sense are bringing a lawsuit to Hot Pockets because putting the yummy meat filled pastry into the microwave sleeve is like loading a gun. And that’s bad!

Gun sense will succeeded-ed-ed! We will take back our food from you disgusting gun owners. Gun sense will be cried from the rooftops unto the universe!

Damn you, Hot Pocket! Why have you forsaken me?

        3. avatar Anonymous says:

So are you ready to embrace gun ownership (or allowing others to embrace gun ownership) and change your name to “formerly 2Asux?”

I can go get us a giant pile of ham and cheese hot pockets, steaming hot, and we can eat them while hitting some targets at the range. I mean… I can get enough hot pockets that we can shoot hot pockets at the range as well if you’re into that. We won’t be hurting anyone or doing any criminal acts (like 99.999999% of gun owners) – just having some fun at the range. Yea?

        4. avatar 2Asux says:

Hot pockets are yummy. That’s hard to turn down. And my robot girlfriend is broken.

I’ll have to ask my mom. But DON’T tell her there will be guns. Or she will be mad and not get me anymore My Little Pony DVDs.

    1. avatar PerplexedPistolero says:

The political establishment in this country doesn’t get why Americans of all bents, stripes and backgrounds are angry? Things like this are why. A public servant willfully abuses his office and gets five years in prison on a plea deal for racketeering. Even the federal prosecutors only asked for eight years and a twenty-five thousand dollar fine.

Look what Raymond Chow is being charged with…Yee wasn’t charged with half the stuff he should have been. You are absolutely correct, and so was Orwell.

And this is without taking into account his blatant hypocrisy with regard to firearms. He deserves to do his time at ADX Florence.

  21. avatar Stoopid1 says:

What a pompus hypocritical jackass. I hope he gets repeatedly a$$ raped with a 2×4.

  22. avatar TRP says:

Maybe we show our compassion and send him a case of Vaseline… Probably a great bartering item

  23. avatar Brianflys says:

Once again, instead of aggressively enforcing existing laws, a piece of human filth gets a slap on the wrist. This guy was a RICO case, and he is out in a couple years? And his damm laws remain in effect, infringing on law abiding citizens.

Thank god I left Kalifornia for Texas last year.

  24. avatar Mr Pierogie says:

So if you happen to live in PA and cross into NJ with your legal gun and carry permit, you could get 10 years. But if you’re a politician who is running illegal guns in collusion with known criminals, you only get 5 years. Oh yeah, that’s totally fair and makes perfect sense.

    1. avatar OCD says:

Are you a Mrs. T’s fan? I am. I grew up on them and can’t eat any other brand besides home made. I agree with your statement.

  27. avatar Ralph says:

There’s no parole in the Federal system, so that’s out of the question. There is “good time,” so Yee can earn 53 days of good time for every year that he’s a very good boy while in the joint. So Yee should serve a bit less than 4.5 years of his 5 year sentence.

Had Yee not taken a plea, he would have to serve more time. And if Yee had rolled on Shrimp Boy, he’d be dead.

  28. avatar Lucas D. says:

    Yee? Ha!

  29. avatar Tt78 says:

This isn’t punishment; it’s a reward. You know the saying “Prison is a democrat’s paradise”?

  31. avatar KenB says:

I was watching lock up, there was a guy in jail/prison (a new CA program) for 12 years because he built and sold a couple 80% ars to the atf. 5 years, 2 with good behavior in not enough for this scum bag.

  32. avatar CRF says:

Yee will be running guns in federal prison now, if you know what I mean…
Yeah, that one was a stretch. But then again…
It will be a “stretch” for Yee too.

  33. avatar YankeeDog says:

They should have added 10 more years for felony hypocrisy.

  34. avatar Jjimmyjonga says:

    It’s always about the money.
You think he paid tax on the “fun” money? Did the family know what he was up to? What a piece of shit this guy is…trying to prevent others from legally having firearms, all the while profiting for his family by selling guns to criminals, illegally.

  35. avatar Jonathan - Houston says:

Oh Yee of little ethics. Good luck on the inside, where “muzzle loader” takes on a whole new meaning.

  36. avatar Mark Lloyd says:

Obummer will probably pardon him on his last day in office.

  37. avatar Wrightl3 says:

One down hundreds more to go.

  38. avatar NEIOWA says:

So the deadbeat (demtard) federal prosecutor ditches the felon charges and keeps the BS “racketeering”? Is that even a felony/Yee keeps his right to own (and to vote demtard). NICE.

On the other hand, the guy that merely threatens to shoot Yee (without actually DOING anything about it) gets 5yr felonies = no guns for you. Extra super nice11.

  39. avatar Sambo82 says:

He’s serving time for what all Lefty politicians do and want? Guns for Me and not for Thee.

    Or should I say…

Guns for Yee and not for Thee.

  40. avatar William Ashbless says:

Yee was arrested over twenty years ago for shoplifting in Hawaii. He returned to the mainland without ever appearing in court. Years later it came to light and (given his esteemed status) Hawaii never pursued the matter and let it drop.

Those who would think Yee wouldn’t sing to save his own hide and protect Shrimpboy need to ask themselves this: Shrimpboy may be a bad ass thug, he’s not going to make anybody rich. Yee, on the other hand, wields considerable power. He’s got a lot more political and underworld favors than a two bit player like shrimpboy’s got.

I have a feeling this little saga just isn’t over yet. Chosen people seem to lead charmed lives.

  43. avatar FormerWaterWalker says:

So why is this yee haw NOT a poster boy for life imprisonment? How hard would it be to order a hit? Who would care? The 82 year old feinstein??? Not that I’M calling for the death of a POS who ruined lives…

  45. avatar Capybara says:

For those of you who live outside California, Yee was the law abiding gun owners worst enemy. It doesn’t surprise me that he got off light. It will be five years, out in three for good behavior, in a relatively plush executive prison. He should get life just for the hypocrisy alone but when you are a good tyrant who tries to disarm the hoi polloi, you get a cushy sentence and forgiveness. Business as usual in Commiefornia. Don’t forgot, the sheeple in his district gave him a quarter million votes after he was indicted. We were hoping he would roll over on the other scumbags who run this state like DeLeon, Steinberg, Feinstein and Boxer but no such luck since he knew if he did, he would wake up dead in prison. I am sure this piece of trash has some good dirt on all of his corrupt buddies up in Sacramento. May he get shanked and die a slow death in prison, he is a traitor, hypocrite and betrayed the people he was supposed to serve.

LELAND YEE was SPONSOR of CA SB 533 mandating 11 year old girls in California be subjected to GARDASIL & all children to every other vaccine the CDC has ever endorsed. Sadistic greedy profiteer obviously capitalizes from the suffering of others, and erosion of other’s rights to life. So he should GET LIFE, since he plead guilty to this, maybe ‘forgive’ his complicity in poisoning our future. Otherwise I’d say life for life, subject HIM to injection, or firing squad.

The CDC recommends 49 doses of 14 vaccines by age six, double the numbers of vaccines the government “recommended” 25 years ago.
