Blue Force Gear Quote of the Day: Chicago Proves Trump and the NRA are Wrong on Guns

“Donald Trump has proudly accepted the gun lobby’s endorsements and voiced support for its dangerous agenda. It’s the reckless ideas put forward by the NRA’s leadership, and pushed through by fearful legislators, that have allowed systemic gun violence to expand, wreaking havoc on communities of color for decades. How does Trump think that he can win the black vote as he supports policies that make our cities more dangerous? Chicago, my hometown, offers a good illustration of why Trump is so wrong.” – Lucy McBath in Jordan Davis’ mother: What I  want Trump to know about gun violence [via]

  1. avatar Andrew Lias says:

You mean a city that lived through decades of gun control and democratic rule?

    1. avatar mk10108 says:

Yeah it’s never democrats’ fault. Always something else that needs to be controlled besides oneself.

      1. avatar peirsonb says:

At this point it’s not the Democrats’ fault, solely. Democrats introduce social policies that sound good to uneducated minorities. Uneducated minorities vote for more democrat policies. It’s a downward spiral, much like a toilet drain.

        1. avatar strych9 says:

Let us not forget who intentionally ruined the educational system by taking it over, injecting progressive ideology, advancing a union agenda and insisting that the whole educational system be dumbed down to the lowest common denominator. All while setting up throwing money at the problem to buy votes and political contributions.

The current state of education, especially that in minority heavy areas is no accident and benifits only one party.

        2. avatar peirsonb says:

No argument that it benefits democrats. But someone keeps voting for them.

        3. avatar strych9 says:

When you’re educated to believe that free things are a reality you vote for the guy promising the free lunch.

          I often use this analogy.

Imagine you have a kid in your neighborhood who’s really sheltered and very poorly educated. One day you see him talking to that “free candy” van guy. Attempting to prevent a bad thing from happening you run out and tell the kid nothing is free, everything other than air comes with a price tag. Instead of taking the “free” candy and getting raped as payment for it the kid should go get a job cutting grass and then use the money he makes to buy candy at the candy store. The cho-mo counters that the candy is indeed free, no strings attached just get in the van and have all the candy you want.

If you consider that the kid isn’t educated/smart/experienced enough to understand the danger that lies in getting in the van, who do you think wins the argument 9 out of 10 times?

That’s the problem with low income black neighborhoods. The Democrats have intentionally screwed up the school system to blind the population to the dangers of what the Democrats are doing. They promise free stuff but it’s not really free. It comes with the price of losing your ability to choose because the Democrats will fear monger you into voting for them to keep your “free stuff”. The fact that black people often don’t see this is why some people call it “the New and Improved Plantation”.

There’s no need for physical chains when you’ve already shackled the mind. That’s what our educational system does.

        4. avatar Sheepdog says:

          So agree

        5. avatar Henry says:

” everything other than air comes with a price tag.”

Robert Heinlein would chew you out for that.

      2. avatar NYC2AZ says:

It’s MSNBC. The claims they make are hilarious and down right ridiculous… like when Malitha Hawwis Pewwy claimed Detroit was ruined by capitalism. Instead of “Lean Forward”, MSNBC’s ad campaign should be “Ignorance Is Strenght”.

    2. avatar Greg says:

Ms. Mcbath has made a name for herself going around the country attacking ‘Stand Your Ground’ laws, claiming that those laws promote violence. (Her son was killed by a man who claimed he was in fear for his life after being confronting by McBath’s son and three of is friends.) Now she’s teamed up with Moms Demand Action and Democrat politicians to attack Trump and assist them in their effort to strip us of our gun rights. If Ms. McBath really wants to reduce gun violence in Chicago she’ll call for a police war on the gangs who commit the overwhelming majority of the homicides in that city. Don’t hold your breath on that one since most of these gang bangers are black and brown and they don’t fit the Democrat narrative.

      1. avatar Ranger Rick says:

So Lucyou McBath qualifies as a “Thug Momma”.

        1. avatar Aaron M. Walker says:

          “1000+ thumbs up! ”

          “@$$-(*) MOMMA THUG of a THUGSTER !”

        2. avatar jwtaylor says:

I’m thinking Greg didn’t do his research. Her son’s murderer was convicted of 3 counts of attempted second degree murder and one count of first degree murder and is serving life plus 90 years. Stand Your Ground is generally not a solid defense when you put 10 rounds into a parked and then retreating car full of unarmed people because they wouldn’t turn down their music.

      2. avatar Rick says:

Oh I’m sure she believes her son was coming from bible study/

      3. avatar jwtaylor says:

(Her son was killed by a man who claimed he was in fear for his life after being confronting by McBath’s son and three of is friends.) – That’s not what happened. At all. That was no one’s claim of what happened during the trial, either side. Not remotely close.
The shooter, Michael Dunn, got mad because Jordan Davis wouldn’t turn his music down in his car. And Davis was probably being an asshole. Dunn shot him through the car, while Dunn was in his own car, even as the car Davis was in was retreating. Dunn then fled the scene and did not call police. Davis, nor his friends got out of the car, and never approached Dunn. Although Dunn claimed there was a shotgun, none was ever found or reported by any other witness, including the one that was with Dunn.
Dunn has been convicted of three counts of second degree attempted murder and one count of first degree murder. He is serving life plus 90 years.

        1. avatar LarryinTX says:

So, let’s see if I’ve got this right. Jackass shot a guy, caught, prosecuted, sent to prison for 90 years, probably won’t be out before Xmas, so what is mama beaotching about? Where is her appeal for attention and money based? System worked as advertised, what is the noise about?

        2. avatar NYC2AZ says:

“System worked as advertised, what is the noise about?”

It’s not pre-crime enough… meaning, the system didn’t punish enough innocent people that didn’t commit the crime.

      4. If the Chicago police did not wage war on gangs during the Capone era, why would they do so now?

    3. avatar Kiran04 says:

Right, because gun control Chicago is working out so well. Clearly the problem is we need to expand it further and further and spread Chicago’s problems to the rest of the country.

  2. avatar Ragnar says:

“How does Trump think that he can win the black vote as he supports policies that make our cities more dangerous?”

Because there can be no other explanation? It has to be the “gun’s” fault?

    1. avatar NYC2AZ says:

Blaming everyone else for inner city crime has worked so well for the black community DNC, why would they ever try to actually address the real problems?

    2. avatar strych9 says:

She’s just pissed that even the NBP Party guys are realizing that the DemoKKKrats have screwed them for decades and now it’s time to look in another direction.

It’s also crazy how popular Trump is in the black community due to The Apprentice. Blacks want to be like him. Rich and legally so. If he can find a way to translate that into actual votes he’ll have a big edge over HRC. He’s even going to start going into black neighborhoods and talking to them. What Republican has done that in the last 30 years? Virtually none because they’ve written off the black community as being on Democratic lock down.

Now the polls don’t show that, but if you were black and pro-Trump would you wander the ghetto in a Trump T-shirt? Not if you didn’t want to get dirtnapped and turned into a zombie Democrat voter you wouldn’t!

  3. avatar Shire-man says:

She’s the worst kind of dependent. All in for the plantation and helping keep her peers dependent to the masters. A special kind of evil.

  4. avatar Gov. William J. Le Petomane says:

So the city where the ‘gun lobby’ never got it’s way is the most violent city in the country and that proves the NRA wrong. Novel concept. I guess we can go ahead and declare the sky to be green and the grass to be blue then.

    1. avatar NYC2AZ says:

If there were more NRA members and less “community organizers” in her city, it might not be known as Chiraq.

      1. avatar explainist says:

the only thing that has ever been organized in Chicago is crime and labor, and organized labor needed the help of organized crime

        1. avatar Mark N. says:

You forgot The Machine. Even though the Daleys are long gone, it still gets out the vote every…single…time. It is a well organized, well oiled, and well funded machine.

        2. avatar LarryinTX says:

Daleys are “long gone”? Didn’t Emmanuel replace a Daley?

  5. avatar surlycmd says:

A century of exceptional political corruption, professional minority victimization and socioeconomic destruction simply cannot be the reasons for Chicago’s violence. It must be the fault of the NRA.

  6. avatar indirect Action says:

    She is a well-conditioned slave.

    A shame, really.

  7. avatar RockOnHellChild says:

I’ll agree with her on one issue, there is a systemic problem with the over 80% illegitimacy rate in black communities… Quit paying people to have babies out of wedlock and the crime issue will start to work itself out.

    1. avatar Dave says:

Yes. If you want more of a behavior, reward it. If you don’t want it, don’t reward it.

There is no legitimate reason for our government to be paying for people to have illegitimate children.

      1. avatar Joel says:

Of course there is a legitimate reason. It is to break down the family structure. Now big brother can take care of all the orphaned children.

  8. avatar uncommon_sense says:

“It’s the reckless ideas put forward by the NRA’s leadership, and pushed through by fearful legislators, that have allowed systemic gun violence to expand, wreaking havoc on communities of color for decades.” – Lucy McBath

And yet those very same ideas accompany a reduction in all types of violent crime in most white communities for decades.

No Lucy McBath: neither the NRA nor “fearful” legislators are responsible for the decades of violent crime (with or without firearms) in “communities of color”. That responsibility rests squarely on the shoulders of those “communities of color”.

Of course taking responsibility for those crimes does not FEEL good. And working to make their communities better does not FEEL good. That is why those communities of color will continue to be violent cesspools. Until those communities are willing to do what is right rather than what feels good, they will not change.

    1. avatar gs650g says:

The nail that sticks up gets hammered down. How fast would they marginalize a leader who dared tell it like it is? Ask Bill Cosby.

    2. avatar neiowa says:

      GUN “violence”???? NO

Perhaps hive “violence”, ghetto “violence”, tribal “violence, barbarian “violence”, Negro gang “violence”. The firearm just along for the ride.

Soros has you right where he wants you foolish woman/slave.

  9. avatar gs650g says:

Yeah all those old fat white guys are the problem in chicago.

    1. avatar RockOnHellChild says:

Well duh, cis white males are always the problem…

Poverty. Crime. Warts. Soggy cereal. Menstrual cramps. Miley Cyrus. You name it, buddy.

    2. avatar Scoutino says:

Wait, are you implying that OFWG NRA members along with the fearful lawmakers are NOT coming to these communities of color to wreak havoc with their full semi auto assault weapons (of war on our streets)? Then maybe the dangerous reckless ideas themselves are doing the drive-by’s?

  10. avatar Arkansas kurt says:

The derp is strong with this one.

    1. avatar NYC2AZ says:

… and all the morons that agree with her over at MSNBC.

  11. avatar Doesky2 says:

Cities like Chicago are THE textbook examples of bigoted Democratic party policies.
Trump should spend a week with Chicago black audiences druming that message.

    1. avatar neiowa says:

Trump wants the Chicago vote then he would need to go campaign in the cemeterys. Hard to when those demtards over.

Someone give the N. Korean pissant the coord of city hall.

  12. avatar Mack Bolan says:

Clearly she has never applied Occam’s Razor to her thought process. The problem with gun violence in black communities, is not guns, its blacks.

But like every other politician and black leader, the simplest solution will always allude them.

    1. avatar Jomo says:

Clearly she has not applied thought processes to her thought processes. There, I fixed it for you.

    2. avatar LarryinTX says:

      Might even ELUDE them!

  13. avatar W says:

Democrats’ plan: Keep violent offenders on the streets. Pass laws banning guns.

In this there is a stark difference from Republicans.

  14. avatar Joe R. says:

Chicago proves only one thing: the evil (D) are an fing scourge, and it’ll take a meteor to route them, and it’d be safer to nuke the shit and shoot the stragglers.

FU Shitcago eat shit and live. You’re a HUGE FING PROBLEM FOR US for being such a piss ant little patch of worthless.

And that’s me sugar coating it.

    1. avatar neiowa says:

Yes. Chicago – the only way to fix it is to nuc it from orbit. The only way to be sure.

  15. avatar Jonathan - Houston says:

Black violence is the NRA’s fault.
Black drug addiction is the CIA’s fault.
Black poverty is the GOP’s fault.
    Black illegitimacy is LBJ’s fault.

What, if anything, is ever the black community’s fault?

How about you get off your abundant, welfare-built butts, reject the entirety of so-called “urban culture”, stop making excuses, get your crap together, and join the rest if us in productive, civilized society?

That’s the only roadmap to success. Every other route is either a dead end or heads off a cliff.

    1. avatar BDub says:

Where justice is denied, where poverty is enforced, where ignorance prevails, and where any one class is made to feel that society is an organized conspiracy to oppress, rob and degrade them, neither persons nor property will be safe. – Frederick Douglass

That IS urban Democratic policies to a T.

      1. avatar Jonathan - Houston says:

Meh. I’m immune to Democrat mind games, as are tens of millions of others.

Their schemes work on the blacks because the blacks are willing participants. Tick, tock, too. Blacks are passe. Hispanics are the Dems’ new grievance group of choice. There are more of them and they have a faster growth rate.

Blacks are going to find out that the Dems don’t return their Obama phone calls anymore, as they’re too busy destroying and making dependent the Hispanic community, then harvesting their votes.

  16. avatar former water walker says:

Golly gosh gee-I was in Homer Township,IL(a scant25 miles from Chiraq)yesterday. Buying guns…a profoundly low crime rate area. Could it be black criminals(super predators-a Hillary term) are the problem? And not OFWG’s and the NRA?

  17. avatar DerryM says:

Jordan Davis’ death was tragic and unnecessary. The white man that murdered him in Jacksonville, Florida over loud music got Life + 90 years. I’ll have to echo Joe the Plumber “I am sorry you lost your child… But: As harsh as this sounds — your dead kids don’t trump my Constitutional rights,”.

Jordan Davis wasn’t the victim of “systemic gun violence”. He was the victim of a douchebag with a gun. The “systemic gun violence” in Chicago Ms. McBath tries to conflate her son’s death with was created and is enabled by Democrat governance in Chicago, IL, and largely confined to Black-on-Black gang murders (including indiscriminately other Black Citizens, who just happen to be in the way).

Just another example of how the Democrats will use a shill to lie and distort the truth to hide their shameful treatment of Black Americans imprisoned on their Big Government Plantation(s). Donald Trump and the NRA get the vitriolic lies on this because Trump has actually succeeded in getting national focus on the situation and the Dems are being “outed” (with help from others like Dinesh D’Souza, Ben Carson and Pastor Mark Burns).

  18. avatar A Brit in TX says:

    Same ‘ol talking points:-

    – Blame the NRA
    – Blame Trump
    – Blame anyone except for themselves

The police in Chicago are hamstrung by politics and politically correct establishment elites. There is a revolving door justice system where repeat offenders plea bargain down to misdemeanor offences and get released to offend again inevitably leading to them killing someone. Certain segments of society glorify the gang lifestyle and ridicule those amongst their society that do want to study and work hard to better themselves. The communities are quick to protest and try to blame others for the violence, but won’t help the police put the perpetrators away.

Do I know what the answer is? No, but the way to solving the problem is first to identify it, p*ssyfooting around the situation so as to be politically correct helps no one. As far as I see it, only one of the 2 main presidential candidates will state the truth as to the causes of the violence problem in Chicago.

    1. avatar Jean says:

      Yep. Nailed it.

    2. avatar LarryinTX says:

Or the violence problem in the Middle East, for that.

  19. avatar Jim Bullock says:

The “gun lobby” is a bunch of people who like their hobby, and the N R A just their membership organization. The N R A does politics because you keep trying to turn O F W G’s who don’t shoot people up into criminals for stuff other people do. Politicians respond, for a change, because the people involved vote. Indeed, tens of millions of people who never hurt anynody have some political influence. This is as it should be. Why do you object?

As for banning guns, why should we expect a gun ban to be any more effective than banning drugs, which fuels thug violence as simply a cost of doing their illegal business, crushed legit business n life wherever it’s practiced, and invites police occupation in response? Banning guns will create another, massive, underground criminal system, while this time disarming their victims too, and creating an entirely new “criminal” cohort out of people who never did anything to anybody.

It’s not the guns, it’s the violence. This “Ban the guns.” crap is loke you just want to make more criminals, n more criminality, while solving nothing.

  20. avatar Mr A Max says:

Chicago is a freaking gun free zone. It has been ran by Democrats and modelled into their image and the nra is still to blame for this failed experiment. Derp indeed.

  21. avatar Joe R. says:

The evil (D) are a crisis and a problem that we need to legislate out.

Chicago needs the U.N. to come in and baby sit it, so that we can go to war with the whole place without blushing. Make it an example of what we think of the globalist communists.

  22. avatar Anonymous says:

Chicago, my hometown, offers a good illustration of why Trump is so wrong.”

LOL! Chicago is a democratic party and gun control haven. If it’s not working there, it’s not going to work.

    1. avatar Joe R. says:

You mistakenly added an “If” there, towards the end.

  23. avatar Sad88 says:

In a recent interview the Chicago police chief said the coutrts have got to stop screwing around and step up. He said a shoplifter gets more time than a felon with a gun. Thats a start.

  24. avatar BDub says:

Does Chicago have “NRA” emblazoned vans trolling the neighborhoods of Chicago handing out free pistols and ammunition….or am I missing something here?

    1. avatar Joe R. says:

No, and no one’s handing out enough free condoms in schools or Planned (We sell your dead babies for food) Parenthood coupons, either.

      1. avatar LarryinTX says:

Or selling enough dead babies for food!

  25. avatar Chris Morton says:

Gun control in Chicago was never about guns, always about control… of BLACK people.

Forced disarmament, racial profiling, police brutality, profiling, TORTURE, the Democrat Party has been SOOOOO good for Black people in Chicago…

    1. avatar John E> says:

don’t forget the unconstitutional detention facilities, the black sites.

      1. avatar Joe R. says:

        black sites matter

  26. avatar Burley says:

At this point, it’s probably not the DNC’s fault anymore. How long are we going to put up with it? What’s the point of the 2nd Amendment if all we do is sit around and bitch about how crooked these politicians are if we won’t hold them accountable by force if necessary? If we continue to tolerate this level of corruption in government, we probably deserve it.

    1. avatar LarryinTX says:

Who is this “we” you talk about? The second amendment gives me no right to pack up my shit and leave Texas to go teach Chicago mob bosses a lesson. In Chicago, guns are not necessary, all they have to do is vote against every incumbent and keep a close watch on the vote counting process, and throw the bums out. That level of crime cannot exist without the cooperation of government.

  27. avatar Joe says:

If I’m understanding this argument correctly, Chicago’s gun homicides stem from Indiana’s lax gun laws. That must mean Indiana is drowning in blood.

    1. avatar LarryinTX says:

Grabbers have been pushing that crap for decades, Fast and Furious was simply a plan to blame Mexico’s violence on American gun dealers so we could demand stricter gun control in America in answer to Mexico’s violence. Really stupid. I thought the best example was DC, claiming availability of guns in northern VA was the cause of their problems, when somebody pointed out that there was actually a bridge from VA to DC, one side of the bridge had no problems, the other side was awash in violence, where you could guess which side had the easy and legal availability of guns.

  28. avatar Chip in Florida says:

“..Chicago, my hometown, offers a good illustration of why Trump is so wrong.”

You keep using those words. I do not think they mean what you think they mean.

  29. avatar ThomasR says:

I think Ing? was making the point that everyone is irrational, no matter the beliefs that one’s holds, whether religious, athiest, liberal/progressive, conservative, etc.

I’d agree, to a point. There are, though, belief systems that keep the irrational to a minimum. That is the brief system that built this country, that allowed us to become the greatest, the most free, and the wealthiest country with the most powerful military in the world. That belief system was based on Christianity, with an emphasis on being personally responsible for ones success or failure, a relatively free market and a sense of civic duty to provide for the common defense for ones community and country, as a citizen soldier.

Now, all of these once commonly held beliefs that kept the irrational to a minimum, that built this country; are being actively attacked, and discarded as old, antiquated, bigoted, patriarchal, misogynist and racist. To be replaced with denial and delusion and the completely irrational, otherwise known as being liberal/regressive..

There are reasons relatively sane civilizations end up going completely off the cliff from being properous, peaceful and rich, into the completely irrational and suicidal self immolation of self-destruction, mass death and tyranny. Just look at the ends of the Greek and Roman Republics. They had their own liberal/regressives R selected types that led to their own down fall. We are seeing it now, with the full embracing of the irrational side of of the human psyche, as shown by liberal/regressives.

Embrace the sanity. Just say no to being an R selected irrational, degenerate, suicidal, self-destructive, self-hating, defenseless and helpless liberal/regressive or statist.

On paper Chicago should be a liberal gun free zone Utopia, but the progressive liberal Democrat power brokers will continue to lie, deflect, deny, and refuse to confront the reality that their corrupt political machine alone has created the ultimate dysfunctional Thugocracy responsible for a downward spiral into anarchy that will only accelerate and worsen.

  34. avatar Eddie says:

You can take the gun out of gun violence, but that still leaves you with violence so I ask you what is the real problem?

  35. avatar Joe R. says:

Like you, Chicago, (and in response) I am thinking of all of the possible ways to legally F-with YOU, and I highly recommend and will support all efforts of others to accomplish the same.

Ignorant bitch. What does what’s happening in Chicago have to do with the NRA’s agenda? I can’t see where the NRA encourages stealing guns and robbing liquor stores or gang warfare . These people are living totally in a dream.
