 Charles Grassley

“In Operation Fast and Furious, the Mexican drug cartels found an easy way to supplement their own illegal ways. Worse yet, the Obama administration has yet to publicly hold anyone accountable for this disastrous policy. Unfortunately, guns from Fast and Furious will be found in operations like this for years to come.” – Senator Charles Grassley, Fast and Furious guns turn up at Mexican resort shootout [at cnn.com]

  1. Seeing as how Obama and holder were responsible, no one will be held accountable except the lsg’s that were told to sell the guns by them in the first place.

  2. For anyone living in STL County, do not go to Clayton to renew/apply for your CCW near the end of the month. The office also processes private security permits, and they stack up at the end of the month. Try to get there before the 15th, and it isn’t very crowded.

  3. We’re on day 2 of 2014 and my yearly “is reddit really as badly formatted and troll-filled as I remember?” visit has been taken care of. So, thanks for getting it out of the way early, I’ll now go back to avoiding reddit links entirely.

  4. The government sucks at policing itself. The 1st and 2nd Amendments help the citizens police the government. Isn’t the government supposed to be of the people, by the people, and for the people? The government we have now is *over* the people. That’s why they want to have and control guns and deny them to the rest of us.

  5. How many similar incidents occurred that same night? That week? When it occurs frequently enough, or the cops are too busy with more serious crimes, it doesn’t get the attention it deserves.
Just like the stories out of Britain where armed robbery is an everyday occurrence and is treated like jay-walking, no blood no foul.

  6. There is so much wrong with this. First, it should have been a DGU. Second, bystanders watch and feel compelled to call the Police but not get involved while people are getting brutally attacked? Cowards.

The rest of the posts have glossed over the race factor here. When I see these stories over and over again I cant help but think that the racial divides in this country have gotten wider in the past few years. Furthermore, political correctness has run roughshod over common sense and truth telling. The truth is, the “knockout game” is an an abbreviation. It’s full name is the “knock out the creepy cracker game.” Racism is not limited to white people only. If this attack is racially motivated then I hope the authorities have the courage to charge these thugs accordingly and put them away for a long time.

As for drinking and carrying, I no longer drink when out friends and family who are partaking. Some wonder why and a few know but the two don’t mix for me. I like to catch a buzz just as much as the next guy but only do it at home nowadays. I pray that I do not have to face down three attackers in the street while out with my wife but if I do, I will be armed and ready to do what needs to be done.

  7. The reason we aren’t utterly trouncing every anti-gun politician or community out there is that many gun owners aren’t politically active. They keep to themselves and frankly have more pressing things to think about… usually. They’ll get active and it’s past the point in some states like CT where this issue is starting to become a priority. Most people it only takes once disgracing them and treating them like criminal scum for them to become active.
