Searching the home of Rancho Tehama spree killer Kevin Neal revealed a fifth murder victim, his wife. “Tehama County Assistant Sheriff Phil Johnston said Wednesday they found the body of Kevin Neal’s wife in the floor boards inside their home.’We believe that’s what started this whole event,’ he said, adding that they were searching for Neal’s wife under suspicions that something might have happened to her. He said: ‘[We believe he] cut a hole in the floor and literally put her body in the hole.'”
Neal apparently murdered his wife and two neighbors with whom he’d been feuding before going on a wild ride through the town of Rancho Tehama Reserve, shooting at random targets before focusing his fire on the local elementary school.
According to his mother, Neal was increasingly frustrated with an ongoing dispute with his neighbors. She told the Associated Press her son claimed his neighbors were running a methamphetamine lab with fumes that were harming his nine dogs.
She said Neal called him the day before the shooting saying: “Mom it’s all over now. I have done everything I could do and I am fighting against everyone who lives in this area.”
Two of his first victims were two of his neighbors, police said. …
Fourteen people, including 7 children, were injured.
Neal, who was prohibited from owning firearms based on two outstanding felony assault charges as well as a restraining order issued to his neighbors had three firearms — two handguns and a semi-automatic rifle — during the attack. California’s famously rigid gun control laws apparently didn’t restrain him in the least.
Neal was shot and killed in a subsequent shootout with police.
lol here’s another one from Die Hard 2. Glock 7 made of porcelain that doesn’t show up on x ray machines and costs more than a months salary.

An episode of “Community” where Annie’s S&W Chief’s Special falls to the floor and discharges. I actually submitted that as a goof on IMDB.com and it was added.
And last night, watching “Baby Driver” when Kevin Spacey fires 8 rounds from a stake-out-sized shotgun.
Absolutely shocked that the laws of the People’s Republic of California were insufficient to keep firearms out of this criminal’s hands. It’s almost like he had no respect for the law! /s
Being charged with a felony prohibits gun possession the same as being convicted?
on kcal 9 news today rancho tehama sheriff said kevin neal was not prohibited from owning guns
Hershel in the guard tower with the optic on his AR bass-ackwards.
For the life of me, I can’t figure out why he didn’t follow California’s “common sense” gun laws!? Sarcasm off
“She told the Associated Press her son claimed his neighbors were running a methamphetamine lab with fumes that were harming his nine dogs.”
I’m gonna go with “What is a nutjob circling the drain for $200”. If his neighbors were running a meth lab in a way that was actually harming this guy’s dogs other people would have noticed it and his reporting of it to the police would have sparked an investigation that would have uncovered it almost immediately.
If you’re venting enough fumes from a meth lab to harm your neighbor’s dogs you’re not exactly being discrete.
Brad Pitt in “Killing Them Softly”. They had slow motion brass hitting the ground, but you can see from the crimps that they were blank rounds. Obviously they need to use blanks for some shots, but don’t do a slow-mo zoom on crimped brass for your artistic shots.
There is a movie out on Netflix just recently called Savage Beast (or something). Foreign film set in post-colonial Vietnam. Lot’s of action, etc etc, but the killer for me was all of the belt fed machine guns with obviously crimped blanks. And yeah, there are guns that don’t seem to run out of ammo as fast as they really would, even if they have 30 round mags.
Big Bang Theory. Penny racks/closes the slide on an empty pistol. Then inserts a magazine with rounds. Then Sheldon immediately shoots his foot without a round in the chamber.
“She said Neal called him the day before the shooting saying: “Mom it’s all over now. I have done everything I could do and I am fighting against everyone who lives in this area.””
Just another day for “Mom” and Neal.
The ever present 346 round capacity revolver……gotta get one of those. I’m such a dork I start counting when they start shooting. Always amazes me how they screw that up constantly.
It’s easy to spot the trolls with an agenda on here. The rifle is a great value and will put venison on the table for years to come. And I say this owing expensive ($1500+) rifles as well. It is the Ruger American that usually goes with me to the field.
I just hate it that every bad guy on every show uses a full auto weapon. Like they are as common as Ford F150’s. Not to mention that they can’t hit the broad side of a barn and never run out of ammo. The other thing that use to bug me was on the 70’s cop shows, when ever a car would go off a cliff it would explode before it landed or touched anything. It was like if all four wheels ever left the ground your car would go boom!
I think it was the new Westworld series, but maybe not. Anyway, guy with a lever action rifle fires into some other guy on the ground, and empty brass ejects out of the thing like a semi-auto. No lever action required, apparently, on the lever actions of the future…
:eye roll:
So there is another piece here on TTAG that talks about people connected to Sandy Hook going after Remington. If that’s the case shouldn’t an organization like CalGuns go after the mother now? Also, seems like the neighbors made complaints about the shooting. If LE didn’t confiscate blame is with them now too.
Well, not the biggest… But I was watching Jurassic World last night and the dude was somehow shooting his lever action rifle like a semi-auto. You’d think they could get something as basic as that right.
412 million guns, but who’s counting?
So what crime did he commit?
So far as we know, nothing. Except being a gun owner… which far too many in this country would like to make a crime too.
*sigh*
Once upon a time, being black in certain places was a crime. Being Japanese in the early 1940s was a crime. A bit over a century ago, existing as a Native American on what used to be your ancestral land was a capital offense.
Don’t let yourselves be distracted from what we’re facing here: we are gun owners, and our opponents do not care that we have committed no crime, they want us to stop being allowed to be what we are.
Yeah I caught Tucker. He’s the real deal. No idea how these cretins agree to appear. Infinitely preferred to the blowhard O’Reilly…I sympathize with the old dude. What a shite country????
It’s been a while since I’ve seen it, but I remember being particularly annoyed by Grosse Point Blank. Mainly, it recall folly goofs, like Glocks that have run out of ammo and subsequently go “click click click” like a double action as they try to keep shooting. I found it more annoying than the common one of spinning a swing out cylinder and it has the whirring of the hand ratcheting.
Any car chase scene involving an rifle. If you are being chased, the guys behind you have a semiautomatic rifle, and the distance is only a few car lengths…. even random shots are going to tear the car apart and penetrate the passenger compartment. Anyone with a small bit of training and several magazines of FMJ is going to rip a passenger car to shreds. Driving faster is not going to allow you to outrun bullets.
A few controlled bursts from an M4 or AK should end a car chase scene. It may not be immediate, but I would expect the car to be spewing fluids and limping to the side of the road.
Just thought I would point out that it’s the 14th admendment to the Constitution, not the 14th admendment to the Bill of Rights.
Kinda looks bad when you can’t get that right…
I have lived in Alaska and the Pacific Northwest, Have seen wolves in the wild twice, It is very concerning to see how fast and stealthy these predators are. When snowmobiling, I spotted a large wolf running through 5 feet deep snow. It moved through that heavy snow like it wasn’t there. If you are on foot and not armed and one of these killers wants you, I don’t care how big and bad you think you are, you have no chance. It’s not like a big german shepard, these wolves are killing machines. When dealing with wolves, it’s best to apply the triple “S” doctrine, “Shoot, Shovel, Shut up”.
A “collection” is useless crap of no logical value. Only a very few firearms would fall into that category.
