Wilson Combat strayed from 1911 orthodoxy to sell upgraded Berettas and plenty o’ GLOCK bits. Ed Brown’s not going there, but their latest gun sure ain’t grandpa’s 1911. The $4995 suppressor-ready, red dot-topped, Commander-sized ZEV 1911 is based on the aftermarket part maker’s Dragonfly Signature Slide. Ed’s homies promise more collaborations. Press release . . .

PERRY, MO –-(Ammoland.com)- While best known for traditional custom 1911s, Ed Brown Products, Inc. is excited to collaborate with ZEV Technologies, Inc. in the design of a new, aggressively styled 1911. The ZEV 1911 pistol is another example of the new and exciting things coming from the second-generation leadership at Ed Brown Products. This new pistol is limited and will only be available for order during 2018.

The new ZEV 1911 was designed to appeal to fans of what is popular in custom polymer pistols, a market where ZEV is a clear leader. It is the result of ZEV’s unique styling applied to the world’s finest 1911.

Based on ZEV’s most popular design, the Dragonfly, the design shares the aggressive styling while maintaining the structural rigidity of the 1911 slide. Taking a cue from the ZEV look, the dimpled barrel makes for a striking effect, being visible through the side and top slide ports.

The top of the slide showcases our new 7-top slide cuts and is topped with a Trijicon RMR sight and tall night sights. The integral rail frame features edgy machining accents on the rail, while the front strap is adorned with the FX1 Snakeskin.

A threaded suppressor ready barrel complete with a ZEV thread protector, recessed slide stop with a serrated pin, and a blended one-piece magwell housing, finish out this show-stopping pistol. As with all Ed Brown 1911’s, it is hand-fit with fully machined parts and backed by our Lifetime warranty.

  1. So let me get this straight, Zev won’t make a slide or barrel for a G20 or G21, but they will collaborate on a 1911?

  2. After all that panty-twisting on the Bond Bullpup, I’ll be waiting for the “I can buy 20 Hi-points for that kinda money” lines. But as a 1911 guy, I LOVE it.

  3. Personally I think the STI Host would do it for me. Everything this has without the fancy stuff and at half the cost.
