Mr. Colion Noir Joins NRA News

Foghorn - comments No comments

For months, we’ve been saying that the NRA needs a new face. Well, at least I’ve been saying it. Having an old fat white guy as your spokesman in today’s political environment does you no favors. But who’d be a good addition? Who would be the perfect spokesman for the “new” NRA? The answer we’ve been coming to again and again — Mr. Colion Noir. And, as if they heard our cries, he’ll be working for NRA News. As far as I’m concerned, it couldn’t have happened soon enough. The big question: will the powers that be keep their mitts out of the editorial process? Will the MCN we all know and love still be MCN? Stay tuned.

  1. I’m a member of The CalGuns Foundation, 2A Foundation, CCRKBA, and JPFO. I’m considering adding the NRA to that list, but I too have been torn between some of their views and tactics.

  2. I went NRA-Life, SAF-Life and GOA-Life the week obama announced his quest for gun bans..
The $300 NRA deal is still going on as far as I know. I would think that they value membership numbers over donations at this point.
It carries more political value at this point.
The costly part will come after anything passes and they have to fund the lawyers fighting to overturn the passed laws.
I spent the cost of a pre-scare bushmaster to protect all my firearms. Seems like a no-brainer of a deal.
Even if I don’t agree with the NRA on all points, the fact that politicians are scared of the NRA, especially with elections coming up, it was money well spent. I would spend it again.

  3. We could use him here in California… The Source of all this proposed legislation (AWB2013).

He has my vote. I’ve been a long time subscriber of his youtube channel.

    Congrats MCN! #Doit

  4. No I like Wayne and David like seeing all new blood coming in too. No this is the time to join and fight against Fascist Obama and his minions in congress in there gun grabs. He is twice the threat Bill Clinton was to gun rights and we must unit and fight to preserve our freedoms past 2016.

  7. So we speak and the NRA listens? How ’bout that. And don’t think that Collins was easy to get, because he’s his own industry. Yet another reason to join the NRA or if you’re already a member, to send them a check.

    • If the NRA was real opposition, instead of controlled opposition, then WLP would not be its public face and voice. In that vein, what better way to control true opposition than to invite it to dinner?

Saying we should support the NRA because it’s the biggest, baddest advocate for the 2A is like saying Budweiser is obviously better than [insert smaller beer company of choice] because it sells 100x as much beer.

I disagree. The NRA has never had real competition in the advocacy arena and as a result it is slow, complacent, out of touch and determined to appease the status quo in DC. For now it remains a bunch of OFWGs and FUDDs, notwithstanding the affiliation of Mr. Colion Noir.

I hope to be proven wrong. I hope be as wrong about the NRA as others have been in predicting Obama’s active efforts at gun grabbing.

  8. I would comment he needs TONS of VISIBILITY. The more, the better. Get him out there at events, get him on TV shows, kicking Pierth Morgan’s ACE!!

  9. I don’t think he helps our cause. A non gun person that is tuning into his “show” would probably buy his drivel. We are at a huge media dissadvantage & this clown is media, Randy

    • I guess I’m biased by the fact I’ve ran across a few incidents where people who weren’t that much into guns commented to me about Morgan and others because they know I’m a gunner. Of course this small sample doesn’t mean most think the same thing.

  11. I sure hope MCN realizes exactly what he’s signed up for. He’ll be the next prime target for the elite media to destroy. They’ll make him a national poster child for Uncle Tomism. He’ll be labelled the worst sort of betrayer of his race (jeez, even worse than Robert Griffin III, the cornball brother).

Can’t tolerate a walking, breathing threat to the narrative…must destroy.

  13. Piers Morgan is my idea of the human equivalent of the least common denominator.
However to answer your question, I could see Piers being to gun rights what the Red Coats were to the Declaration of Independence.

  15. This is one of the best moves the NRA has ever made. ColionNoir is definitely the kick the ass they need. He comes off a million times better than OFWGs in suits.

  17. He is correct, my congressman (house) has a very high score voting record , pro- bill of rights , Ron Paul also had 100 % voting pro liberty, but i see America does not put their money or vote where the mouth is… FREEDOM is not FREE !!!!!!!

  18. Sounds like an underpants gnome conspiracy:

    1. Buy out pro-gun media outlets.
    2. Reduce them to a shadow of their former selves.
    3. ????
    4. Profit!

  19. My LGS got the Lionheart lineup in this week. The owner spoke highly of them, but you have to keep in mind it’s the only thing he can get in stock to sell. Looking forward to a full review and stress test.

  20. Not that we have the same goal in mind as them, but the Viet Cong were not defeated by carpet bombing nor will it us.
What, if we have no paper to read, our guns will be melted and our voice muted?
    Maybe not.
BTW I’ve heard about this cool website called TTAG. They seem really good at keeping the gun conversation alive without the print media.

  21. Piers Morgan comes off as a pompous twit. The more he talks, the more he’ll be hated. He attacks gun ownership, then he goes on to attack a small business owner for trying to make money. What he should realize is that Americans really don’t like it when someone calls us idiots and tells us to do what he says on the belief that he’s so much smarter. That kind of elitism may work in the exclusive clubs in Merry Ole, but here–and in much of Britain, too–it won’t fly.

  22. Last time a priest tried that on me, first the holy water sizzled when it hit my skin, then the stream turned into a serpent and slithered away.

I later learned that this was the first time that had happened at that church, and that they’d started asking atheists to take a step back before they fired up the Super Soaker.

  24. I have gone back and forth about putting my name down on paperwork for items that get liberal panties in knot. With the state of politics and my tin-foil hat on tight, not to mention the cost and wait time, I have decided against it for now.

  25. That cracking sound you heard is the whiplash of all the people snapping their heads around to face the other direction from their angry WHARRGARBL of the past two or three days.

Of course, I still figure that about 95% of them were full of shit, and the only thing they’re actually doing is thanking the sweet baby Jesus that they don’t actually have to demonstrate the courage of their convictions now.

  26. Yes, these revolvers are a bit on the costly side, but I think that $499 for a used one in the condition you described, seems a bit much to me. I paid $739 + tax for brand new 617 10 shot w/6″ barrel; 3 years ago this March. I wouldn’t expect to pay more than $349 with all the work that’s needed and you say it’s only a six shot.

  27. My wife, daughter and I are all members. I just got my daughter a Life Membership figuring that she’ll be able to get the most mileage out of it. That was $300 well spent as it’s conceivable that she could then be a member for a hundred years. I’ve also given a number of people gift memberships over the years. As Ben Franklin once said; “We must all hang together today for surely we will all be hung separately tomorrow otherwise.”.
