By - January 18, 2012 20 Facebook Twitter Pinterest WhatsApp Email ◀Previous Post Next Post▶ Somebody at the Mossberg booth thought it would be a good idea to stuff a Surefire 60-round quad stack magazine into an MVP bolt-action rifle. Because they couldn’t find the Beta C-Mag. Works for me. ◀Previous Post Next Post▶ RELATED ARTICLESMORE FROM AUTHOR Strike Industries Upcoming Sci-Fi Chassis for the P320 and P90 2024 SHOT Show Was Biggest Ever SHOT Show 2024: Angstadt Arms Vanquish Suppressor 20 COMMENTS “One mag per range trip”? Reply And as usual for Mossberg, it won’t cost over $600 Reply I wondered when someone would make a bolt action .223 that would take AR mags or a .308 that takes FAL mags. Reply If someone molded some type of flat base onto the bottom of the mag, they could use it as a monopod for shooting from a benchrest. A really low benchrest. Reply Nice. One of those dual-drum mags would have looked cooler though. Reply I like the idea of a bolt gun that takes at mags but can you please tell Mossberg to pump the brakes, they are trying way too hard and doing it wrong. A magpul 20 rounder would be way more practical and better looking too. Reply All the other display guns had 30-rounders on them. I agree that a 20-rounder would look, and work, even better. Reply Correct me if I’m wrong, but re: the comments about drums, 20s, etc., if it takes a Surefire 60, wouldn’t it take any AR mag? I, however, do not want to get Carpal Tunnel from running a bolt 60 times on the trot, reload, ad infinitum. Reply Yeah it should take any STANAG pattern mag. Reply Years from now we will be saying “Remember when bolt guns had only 5 rounds with the odd exception? But no more than 10.” And our kids will stare at us like we’re dinosaurs. Reply “Years from now we will be saying “Remember when bolt guns” And our kids will stare at us like we’re dinosaurs.” Fixed that for you. Reply lmfao so true Reply Someone needs to invent a belt fed bolt gun to 1-up this. Reply Call Red Jacket Firearms Reply Oh God, no! Reply Please don’t mention this idea at the mossberg booth. Reply I pretty much can guarantee you a SureFire rep walked over and asked them to display one for them, It happened at the NRA 2011 at the booth I was working at, one came over and asked us to use it and we could keep it after the show for personal use Reply I want one of these. This is a pretty awesome idea. But why can’t they make a nice walnut finish stock, instead of these funky colors? Reply I like that someone figured out how to make a bolt action that would use AR-15 magazines. Now if they had only made it a straight-pull bolt action…. 🙂 Reply Too easy. Barrel without gas port, all AR parts minus gas block, gas tube. Use a side charging handle (reciprocating style). Reply LEAVE A REPLY Cancel reply Please enter your comment!
