This is not the way to draw, shoot and reload a semi-automatic handgun with an injured gun hand. It’s a way. If your holster is further around on your body, you’ll need to reach behind your back to get your gun. If your gun is inside your trousers, you may need to contact the TSA. So . . . find out how to run your gun with the wrong hand. And practice. I mean, it’s all well and good to be able to shoot well with your weak hand (try canting the gun slightly), but you can’t fire a gun you’re not holding. (Asking an innocent bystander to retrieve your weapon is another option. Just don’t forget to say please and thank you.) Remember: your gun hand is a prime target for your attacker or attackers. Whatever it takes, stay in the fight.

  1. One reason I like my shoulder holster is that I can easily (and quickly) draw with my off hand. I lke the racking the slide with your shoe, tho, that's a nifty idea.
