(courtesy washingtonpost.com) TTAG’s “I Am A Gun Owner” series has made its point: American gun owners are not a homogenous group. We’re male and female. We represent all ethnic and racial groups. We hold conflicting political opinions. We have various religious beliefs and backgrounds. Some of us are atheists. We all cherish our Constitutionally protected right to keep and bear arms. Next Friday (February 8) we’ll run the last of the photos on the site. We will continue to post portraits on our Facebook page, but that’s it. The next project: “This is my rifle.” The photo will include “This is my rifle” statements on paper (not demonstrated above) with you holding your rifle. Please don’t send them in yet. We’ll give you a heads-up. Meanwhile, thanks for your photos. And thanks to you, our readers for making TTAG the world’s number one firearms blog. We’re getting the pro-gun message out there, somewhere.

  1. I’ve actually enjoyed the gun owner posts. Oh well, pictures of rifles will be nice. This is a gun oriented site after all.

  2. Thank you for this series and accepting my picture as a part of it. I don’t do facebook but your welcome to post it there if it is not already.

  3. I’ll miss this feature. It was good to have a picture to go with a name and also to know that TTAG has fans who we never knew we had.

    • You do know that FN employs huge numbers of Americans who make guns right here in the USA, right? I don’t remember about the SCAR specifically, but they have a large manufacturing facility in South Carolina where they make all sorts of guns.

  4. you are doing a great job getting the pro gun message out there, but D.C. just chooses not to listen.

  5. The efforts are appreciated(ok, maybe not by the bradys)./// This shouldn’t be so damned hard, sarah is selling death for pete’s sake, Randy

  6. I got really excited till about half way down the page when I found out this nonsense is going to continue in another form. I guess I should just be happy the post will involve a gun at all. I started following this site because I stumbled across the gun reviews which have become few and far between. If I want politics there are plenty of other (better) choices.

    • Don’t worry, you don’t get charged extra for the IAAGO posts.

What’s that? The content here is free, you say? Then why is this fellow acting like RF has cheated him with a bait-and-switch scam?

      • I dont care if he posts this dumb stuff. Just post stuff about guns too. And dont do the “free”, they make money based on visits. The more visits the more money, visitors have the right to ask for the content they really want in exchange. RF, as was pointed out in the WA Post, lives ina nice house and drives a Mercedes thanks to all the visitors of his last site before he sold it.

  7. Queue the accessory critiquing in 3…2…1…

Asking people to send in pictures of themselves with rifles is going to make the tin-foil hat confiscation crowd’s heads explode.

  8. I’m waiting for the picture where we see a muzzle and a butplate sticking out of a cluster of wanker rails. The 44 pound AR with the trailer mounted battery pack towed behind it.

  9. Until you have a million pictures to counter the “million moms”, I would say that no, the thread and facebook page has not made its point.

Until the media picks up and reports on it, no, it has not made its point.

Until we stop seeing knee-jerk reactions that affect those depicted, no, it has not made its point.

Even if you don’t want to sort through the pics yourself, please make sure people are allowed to post to FB. I am open to administer that if you need help.
