David Chipman
Biden ATF Director nominee David Chipman

David Chipman’s nomination to run the federal regulatory agency hasn’t been going well. It seems that Democrats are having trouble getting all of their 50 members in the Senate lined up behind the Biden nominee. Dicky Durbin acknowledged that there are “issues” with Chipman and that “the whip count ‘is not where we want it yet, but there’s always a chance.’”

Republican in the House, however, are preparing in case the worst happens. They’ve drawn up a preemptive impeachment resolution should Senate Democrats manage to drag Chipman over the confirmation line.

As justification for removing him, the Republicans’ resolution states . . .

Following his nomination, in sworn written responses to at least four members of the United States Senate, David H. Chipman responded “No” to questions as to whether he ever misplaced or had a firearm stolen.

David H. Chipman’s former colleagues at the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives on multiple occasions have disputed this, alleging that David H. Chipman lost his service weapon after leaving it in his personal vehicle one night, and that the firearm was subsequently stolen by a handyman, according to credible reports.

Based on these allegations from his former colleagues at the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, David H. Chipman in sworn, written answers to multiple inquiries from members of the United States Senate did make false statements.

Wherefore, David H. Chipman, by such conduct, has demonstrated that he will remain a threat to the Constitution of the United States and the rule of law if allowed to remain in office. David H. Chipman thus warrants impeachment and trial, removal from office, and disqualification to hold and enjoy any office of honor, trust, or profit under the United States.

This is all purely performative, of course. Should the longtime gun control advocate manage to be confirmed as ATF director, Nancy Pelosi would sooner buy her clothes at Walmart than allow the House Republicans’ resolution to ever come up for a vote.

Here’s the full impeachment resolution . . .

  1. Have you ever noticed that when the republicans are in the minority, they will propose all kinds of bills that would actually improve our country. When they get the majority, then they go back to sleep and only wake up to pass a bill to spend more money that we don’t have and bills that help special interests.

    • Yes, that is normal behavior for Party Citizens. RepubliSTAINS or DEMONcrats, no difference in this respect.

All are Citizens of their Party, not of the United States of America.

All give their first and greatest allegiance to their Party, not to the United States of America.

It has not always been so but it has been a growing failure of the last three or four decades.

    • Noticed the same thing myself. Lots of grandstanding when they dont have the votes, then nothing when they do

  2. Well when it comes to chipman and all things Gun Control let’s thank all who joined hands with the democRat Party to slander and libel POTUS DJT.

The very same bump stock crybabies who did not bother to get the facts about bump stocks and POTUS DJT from Alen Gottlieb now want everyone to see their disdain for Chipman. It was their very own bump stock crybaby rhetoric that helps to usher in nitwits like chipman. And worse they continue with their bump stock ignorance today.

Once again for all of you bump stock crybabies who read some gun talking moron with thousands of incomplete sentence posts and ran to regurgitate what you fell for…Had POTUS DJT failed to act Congress Would Have and that means not only bump stock contraptions would be gone but things like Binary Triggers, etc. would be gone too.

The question for bump stock crybabies is…What would you have done if you were caught between a rock and a hard spot following a blood bath like POTUS DJT?

    • You may have a point but with the amount of bump stocks actually surrendered and the successful litigation that has followed it doesn’t appear the bump stocks are going away any time soon.

    • I agree with you though 100% that more treason was committed against DJT starting from the inside then branching out than anyone else in recent history. Absolutely pathetic.

His stupid paranoid Soetoro-style comments about red flag laws are what really pissed me off the most.

  3. This is awesome news that just made my day. Hopefully they’ll succeed and thereafter feel empowered enough to impeach all the others that so deservingly need to suffer the same fate.

    • They will not succeed. It is political theater. A comedy in fact.

The only reasonable goal on Chipman is to work to prevent his becoming director of ATF.

      • The reasonable thing would’ve been NOT to vote for the lifetime corruptcrat who nominated that human-shaped pile of excrement, but you blew past “reasonable” quite a while ago.

      • I think it’s more than just political theater. It certainly won’t succeed this session, but it is a shot across the bow to “undecided” Dem senators that Chipman WILL be impeached when the GOP regains the house after the 2022 elections, and the impeachment inquiry will probably air a lot more of Chipman’s dirty laundry that the Dems and the mainstream press (but I repeat myself) have managed to keep under wraps (e.g., the substance of the EEOC complaints against him).

That may be enough of a brushback pitch to make one Dem senator tell the WH “not happening, withdraw the nomination.”

  4. Talk about Red Flag issues. Guy is one screw loose in his head full of bolts. Anyway when Congress recesses in August the draft Dodger coward Biden commie pinko will install his puppet

  5. How long can Congress stare at a toilet full of chipman before they decide to flush? This is a stall tactic while democRats pray to satan to send them another adam lanza. Make no mistake about it, the democRat Party knows they have a missing ingredient and the more time that goes by only increases the odds for another murderous perp to pop up and lend a helping hand to someone like chipman.

Laws need to be passed that stops congress or anyone else from putting any Constitutional Right on the table no matter the tragedy. Gun Control scumbags laying in wait for a tragedy to advance their agenda need to be stopped just as like the perp behind such tragedies needs to be stopped.

The perp in such tragedies did not care about the Constitutional Rights of others and Gun Control perverts do not care about the Constitutional Rights of those who had, zip, nada nothing to do with the tragedy. Two wrongs do not make a right.

    • The Libturd/Socialiat Alphabet agencies handlers are getting the next Lanza primed and programmed., awaiting his activation signal…… CLAP!! CLAP!! CLAP!!

  6. As a preemptive strike this seems a good idea. The Democrats know two things:
    1. – they are vulnerable to losing the House in 2022
    2. – the Republicans could raise the impeachment charges again in 2023.

It’s the investigation and evidence discovered that will neuter an ill-vetted nominee. The Democrats would not wish it to be discovered that they “knew or should have known” that there was a skeleton in their nominee’s closet when they confirmed him.

If there really is discoverable evidence of any impolitic skeleton then this is a shot across the bow that the Democrats wouldn’t want to ignore. They actually win nothing by putting their worst nominee in office. They would be almost as happy putting their second or third worst nominee in office.

Therefore, persuading Schumer to hold this confirmation until a second or third-worst nominee could be identified is the best course of action.

  7. The Republicans are going to have to show me they actually have some balls before I EVER believe what they say their going to do.
They cave on almost everything. Always yelling about what their all about, just to have a bunch of R I N O’s blow their proposals out of the water.
    Control the R I N O’s & actually stand up for the U S Constitution & maybe I’ll believe them. & Mitch M. Is a backstabber.

  8. Why not just impeach Biden?? There are grounds to do so, especially the mess he’s made of the border.

    • It’s very rare that navy ships are named after living people, and mostly it’s ex-presidents. While it’s tough luck that she was shot, Gifford’s was only in office as a Representative for five years. Certainly, she achieved. Nothing notable that deserves the honor.

  9. “This [a threatened impeachment resolution] is all purely performative, of course. Should the longtime gun control advocate manage to be confirmed as ATF director, Nancy Pelosi would sooner buy her clothes at Walmart than allow the House Republicans’ resolution to ever come up for a vote.”

Of course it is. And if the Republicans ever once again get into the majority where they could actually make something like this happen, you’d never again hear a word about it. Such are the games these RINOs play.

Is this guy a joke? Absolutely. Would he be a dangerous menace to the Constitution in general and the 2nd Amendment in particular if ever confirmed to that post? Without a doubt. Will the Republicans ever do anything substantive and meaningful about it, even if in a majority and therefore in a position to do so? Hell no.

  10. I haven’t heard Senator Space Cadet out there extolling the virtues of his and his feeble wife’s employee…

  11. What House RepAlanublicans need to do is to prevail on their fellows in The Senate to oppose Chipman’s confirmation.

  12. He shall henceforth be known as “Chippy” or “Chip-Chip”

    Here Chip-Chip! Tttkkttkkkttkk

  13. It’s a dog and pony show and nothing more.
Unless there are DINOs that nobody knows about in the house.
Dicky Durbin and Tammy Duckworthless are breathing air that my car needs to run.
The entire federal government is brain dead.
Pull the plug and start with Biden.

  14. Can’t just impeach ol Joey, he didn’t really lie he truly doesn’t remember if it was chocolate or banana pudding he had with lunch. Maybe it was applesauce?

  15. Impeachment comes from the house of representatives, we’ll have to wait one and a half years if the republican leadership can muster the courage then.

  16. Former colleagues saying this or that, proof is needed.
The way I look at it is, whether it happened or not ,what happened or what kinda guy is Chipman, that his former colleagues would rat him out.
Ehhh,, BATFE their all chcknshts even to each other.

  17. The Republicans aren’t going to impeach him. They wouldn’t impeach Obama for doing far worse things when they held both houses of Congress. They’re chickens*it.

    • The chickensh!t repubs piss me off more than the full of sh!t dems. We all know the dems want us gone but the r’s are mostly gutless back stabbing sacks of sh!t

  18. Chipman should have been removed from all Federal employment years ago.

I suppose he has a terrific retirement package waiting for him no matter what happens in the Senate.
