    • Your comment makes me want to run a “what calibers do you own” poll! I gotta think most of the TTAG audience owns a 5.56/.223. Probably the vast majority have a 9mm. I wonder what the third most popular caliber would be. 12 ga, probably. Fourth most popular? Or do you think I’m off base already?

      • ” Or do you think I’m off base already?”

Well, the daily post count has collapsed again to a handful per, so a “what calibers do you own” poll would be a quick way to up the post count without having to break a sweat… 🙂

As for the original ammo sale post, $250 a thousand delivered ain’t bad at all for .556 – .223, TTAG corporate should pick up a few thousand for T&R purposes…

        • I don’t want to come across as an ass, but try to remember. Roberts mom just passed away.
So, article count may be down. I’m good with that. I dealt with my dad passing 11 months ago. I’m still dealing with the minor details from that.
Robert has kids. They just lost their Grammy.
I’m sure he has his hands and heart full.
Sorry if I came across as an ass or a hard ass. But I have broken bread with Robert, Dan, JWT, Jeremy, Tyler and a few others. I consider them close friends.
          Please be kind.

        • No, you weren’t being an ass, it had slipped my mind on his mom, and that was thoughtless of me…

      • 9mm is the most popular pistol cartridge. However, for gun blogs, I gotta imagine pretty much everyone here has at least 5 different rounds. .22lr is probably top 3, it’s popular out of semi auto pistols, revolvers and rifles. I’d guess it would be number one actually

      • Funny thing is, I only own one of the three things you mentioned, and that’s the 12 gauge. I have several AR’s in various stages of construction, but that’s how they’ve all been for a couple years, and I couldn’t assemble a single working gun out of all of them.

  1. Hmm, was skeptical, but his is a legit deal. $299 case and $50 rebate. Last time I paid $250 for a thousand rounds of .223 was back in two thousand 0 something.

Free shipping? weird. Is this a loss leader or a foreshadow of new ammo prices?

  2. “It’s all eligible for Federal’s $0.05 per round rebate,…”

Holler back when .22lr has a $0.05 per round rebate.

“How about M855 in Lake City brass for $0.25 per round, delivered?!”

    That’s not a bad price, actually…

    • “That’s not a bad price, actually…”

I’m not sure I’ve seen lower! It’s actual 5.56 NATO M855 62 grain green tip steel core penetrator in Lake City brass. I don’t think I’ve ever seen that for twenty five cents per round, let alone delivered at that price.

On ammo bot, the least expensive 62 gr is Hotshot or PRVI for $0.33 per, plus shipping, and it ain’t NATO spec I don’t believe. PMC X-TAC is $0.34 + ship. Cheapest Federal is $0.35 + ship (which should qualify for the same rebate so $0.30 effective + shipping). Can’t think of a time I’ve seen it cheaper…at least not since pre-Obama days.

        • Matt in FL,

Natchez has “Federal Independence XM855 Ammunition 5.56mm 62gr FMJ 3020 fps 1000/ct” (I copied this words in the double quotes from their website) box for $299.99 … and then you get free shipping and a $50 rebate from Federal. Their e-mail to me, which linked to that listing, says “green tip” in the little e-mail sale “flyier”.

    • They are both an online sales store and a regional distributor. They do not ship / sell to the region where they are a distributor so they are not in direct compitition with the gun stores they sell to.

At least that’s what I have read.

      • I’ve read that too. But when I asked them a while back who exactly they distribute to they refused to say. So not only do they not get my money because they won’t ship to me in Georgia, but whatever business they distribute to loses out as well because they won’t tell me who it is.

        Eff Natchez.

        • Ya, I got the same BS from them some years back. So I would never recommend them to anyone, no matter where they live. Ammo prices are coming down and will continue to fall, so Natchez can keep their ammo. I will buy from someone else when I need to restock.
