We’ve chronicled a number of times how under the Biden Administration, unelected bureaucrats—namely those within the U.S. Department of Justice and its Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF)—have been making laws rather than enforcing them. Just a few examples are the bump stock ban, the redefining of braced pistols as “short-barreled rifle,” and the recently published Final Rule on who is “engaged in the business” of selling firearms.

All of those either are, or will be, tied up in the courtroom for a simple reason. According to the U.S. Constitution, Congress is charged with making laws. For unelected bureaucrats to do so is, in a word, unconstitutional.

Now, a Democrat U.S. senator is warning people to not vote for Donald Trump because he’s likely to appoint judges who will follow the constitution and rule that laws made by anyone other than Congress cannot stand. No, I’m not making that up.

Brietbartnews.com recently reported that U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minnesota, made just such a warning on a broadcast of the MSNBC “news” program “The Last Word.”

“It matters, you…are going to discuss later in your program whether or not a president is above the law, whether or not he can claim immunity for any act, because that’s what Donald Trump is claiming,” Klobuchar told host Lawrence O’Donnell. “We know, with the Mifepristone decision, that was a Trump judge. These decisions about voting rights and the decisions about changing the John Lewis bill and making all of these decisions, that’s about judges, who have been put on by Donald Trump, yes, but also, it’s about judges you can put on that follow the law and are highly qualified.”

Klobuchar then went on to castigate judges who have ruled against agencies making rules or laws, which, as mentioned, is the sole job of Congress.

“And even the Chevron decision…which is about allowing agencies to make decisions about say, what is the percentage of particles in air pollution?” she said. “Some of these judges that Donald Trump put on or are judges out of his ilk, they actually have said, oh, agencies shouldn’t do that, we should have Congress and the judges make those decisions. You can see where this is rolling if he is allowed to come back and put these judges on.”

Where “this is rolling” is actually in a good direction, despite Klobuchar’s warning. We have the Constitution for a reason, and nowhere in the document does it give power to unelected bureaucrats to set criminal laws that result in long prison sentences and high-dollar fines for breaking those “rules.”

Biden’s DOJ has been the worst at crossing that crossing that line, foisting laws upon gun owners that are arguably unconstitutional under the Second Amendment. What is less arguable, though, is that they violate the administrative procedures act.

If dumping Biden and re-electing Trump means having more judges that will actually follow the Constitution and reign in rogue government agencies, that sure wouldn’t be a bad thing.

    • I know its Hunter Biden but I think the gunm charge should be thrown out too. Now if someone were to have found the gunm then used it to kill someone, charge his girlfriend for accomplice.
Supposedly Lying on an unconstitutional .giv permission form to exercise a constitutional right in my minds eye is not a crime.

      • I just hope Hunter loses court battles on this charge repeatedly all the way until it gets to the Supreme Court before he wins. The process is the punishment and he deserves to go through the same process the rest of us peons would go through in his shoes. After he wins at SCOUTS then we all win. Make him work for OUR big win at SCOTUS.

        • Making the commies pay to undo their bullshit laws should be the goal but do whatever needs doing to get rid of all we can while we can.

    • Conservative’s sad reading comprehension skills causes alarm.

“ …that’s about judges, who have been put on by Donald Trump, yes, but also, it’s about judges you can put on that follow the law and are highly qualified.”

This is a compare and contrast sentence, on one hand trumps selections:

“judges, who have been put on by Donald Trump“

      “but also”

“judges you can put on that follow the law and are highly qualified“

Trump’s judicial nominations have often been found unqualified, and are reversed by appeals courts. A good example is federal judge Aileen Cannon:

“These included in December 2022 when the US Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit reversed a decision that would have meant Trump could have challenged the search warrant served at Mar-a-Lago. The appeals court also struck down a ruling from Cannon where she ordered a special master to review all the documents the FBI seized from Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort, which would have prevented the Department of Justice from accessing their own evidence, as she did not have the authority to appoint one in the first place.“

      • Lord a mercy, if you and DebbieW got together. WOW. What a fight.
        Saint Trump.
        Satan Trump.
        No compromises.
I’m putting my money on Deb , my guess is it would be three quick rounds just as fast as Miner49 could get up.

        • “Lord a mercy, if you and DebbieW got together. WOW.”

“Debbie and Possum sitting in a tree…”

Careful, Marsupial One, she could wrap those legs around you, squeeze hard, and snap your tiny spine like a twig.

(Unless, you know, you’re interested in that kind of thing… 😉 )

        • “Satan Trump“

Trump isn’t Satan, he’d have a better lawyer if he was.

Besides, Satan is far too busy controlling the Catholic Church according to the Republicans:

Republican Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia has clarified why she said that “Satan” is in control of the Catholic Church following pushback from a Catholic advocacy group.
Greene said “Satan’s controlling the church, the church is not doing its job” in a comment on the church’s support for undocumented immigrants during a recent interview with right-wing activist Michael Voris of the website Church Militant. After a clip of Greene’s comments circulated online Wednesday, Catholic League President Bill Donohue said that she had “slandered” Catholics and demanded that she apologize.”

        • “Besides, Satan is far too busy controlling the Catholic Church according to the Republicans:”

Here Miner49er, let me correct that lack of knowing what context is for you

Its …. “Besides, Satan is far too busy controlling the Catholic Church according to A Republican:” —- and even you own link confirms it was A republican and not “the Republicans”. Do you not understand the English language concepts of plural and singular?

Typical Miner49er left wing BS…. persecute everyone for the act of one or a few.

        • “A republican“

You mean like just some random person on the street?

That’s an interesting way to describe
‘A’ sitting Member of the United States House of Representatives who has been assigned to the following committees for the 118th Congress:
House Committee on Oversight and Accountability
Subcommittee on Government Operations and the Federal Workforce

          House Committee on Homeland Security
Subcommittee on Border Security and Enforcement
Subcommittee on Oversight, Investigations, and Accountability
House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic
Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene is a proud member of the following caucuses:

          Election Integrity Caucus
          Republican Study Committee
          Second Amendment Caucus

  1. Those who would disarm us, in favor of an all powerful government, have no legitimacy. Their legal arguments and false morality are hollow, without merit, and merely reveal their desire to reduce us to a state of slavery and despotism.

    • Dems hate states rights and checks and balances. They’ve been fooled into craving tyranny as long as it’s a Democrat. There’s a reason our system of government was setup to counter that. It’s amazing how few of them notice that.

      • Not just Dems. Reps voted for the FISA renewal the other day with that Traitor Johnson breaking liberty’s back with the tiebreaker not requiring warrants on surveillance on US citizens. The 4th Amendment is as important as all of our Civil Rights.

        Dump that RINO speaker!

        • *generally speaking, especially when talking about voters. There are often exceptions to the rule.

He was supposedly against it until he became the Speaker. Meet the new boss same as the old boss.

    • Slavery and despotism, we are all ready there.
      Rights must be Purchased
Slaves to money toiling in the factory’s to purchase freedom.
Who are the free in America?
They live on the sidewalks and streets.
Our ancestors escaped Kings then turned around and developed another kingdom.
As the population grows our freedoms shall shrink, only the rich will benefit.

  2. If Trump had not won in 2016 and appointed the three Justices he did, I doubt this venue would even exist and we would almost certainly have federal gun laws similar to what California/NY/NJ have or worse.

    • We came VERY close to disaster. There were only two Senators, Manchin and Synema, who refused to ditch the filibuster. Both (at the time) were Democrats. Had they gone along with their Democrat colleagues, this country would be in worse shape than it is now. Far worse. Not only would we have oppressive gun control, but the government spending would have been ten times what we had since 2021 and we’d be in hyperinflation. The Federal bureaucracy would be running wild.

We dodged a stream of bullets.

      • Dodged bullets? With millions crossing the border illegally, a husband murdered and a wife terrorized recently in their home at the crack of dawn by the atf, inflation through the roof, a senile clown and a laughing hyena at the helm, rampant crime, tyranical Gun Control aimed at law abiding citizens in the Land of Lincoln, CA, CO, WA, etc. add up to not exactly dodging bullets.

But not to worry…politically inept gun owning clowns who held hands with democRats to slander and libel POTUS DJT in 20 and the gutless bigoted blowbags who still today carrying on the racist mission of the Gun Control democRat Party kkk and the zipped lipped wimps who see blatant bigotry and say nothing will save America? The choice is stand up and Define Gun Control for History illiterate America or bend over.

  3. Pretty sure Amy Klobuchar is really Scott Thompson in drag and her career is just one long Kids in the Hall skit.

    “…

In Gurnee, a group of high school students from another suburb entered a restaurant wearing ski masks and holding water guns that police said resembled firearms.

‘They were targeting other students who were dining in the restaurant and attempting to spray them with water,’ police said in an alert. ‘An adult, who was a concealed carry holder, in the restaurant mistook the situation for a genuine threat, and the situation could have escalated quickly. The gravity of the situation cannot be emphasized enough; it had the potential to lead to serious consequences.’

  5. There are many libertarians, liberals and leftist gun owners on TTAG. Who completely agree with senator Amy Klobuchar

And that is why those gun owners always will vote against donald trump.

  6. Klobuchar looks like the annoying church ladies of old, the hags that stuck their noses in anyone’s business and always had unsolicited advice.

    • Actually johnny boy she’s a ranking member of the democRat Party…that’s the party where the gutless bigotry you display on this forum comes from…Therefore you are nothing more than a waterboy for the party that owns the legacy of Slavery, Gun Control, etc.

  7. Once a Karen, always a Karen. To think she swore an Oath to “Support and Defend” the Constitution…, just think.

  8. She removed any doubt as to how she and others like her view the Constitution.
Oh, and the oath of office clearly meant nothing to her.

  9. We really need a national divorce. It’s really very pointless trying to deal with tyrants on their level.

Divorce them. And violence is not necessary. You just leave.

  10. The Wisdom of Thomas Jefferson

    April 13, 1743 – July 4, 1826

“When we get piled upon one another in large cities, as in Europe,
we shall become as corrupt as Europe.”

“The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those
who are willing to work and give to those who would not.”

“It is incumbent on every generation to pay its own debts as it goes.
A principle which if acted on would save one-half the wars of the world.”

“I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the
government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.”

“ My reading of history convinces me that most bad government results from too much government.”

“No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms.”

“The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government.”

“The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.”

“To compel a man to subsidize with his taxes the propagation of ideas which he disbelieves and abhors is sinful and tyrannical.”

Thomas Jefferson said in 1802: ”I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered…”

    Happy Birthday Thomas Jefferson

    • More brilliance from Tom Jefferson:

In every country and in every age, the priest has been hostile to liberty. He is always in alliance with the despot, abetting his abuses in return for protection to his own.

The day will come when the mystical generation of Jesus, by the Supreme Being as his father, in the womb of a virgin, will be classed with the fable of the generation of Minerva in the brain of Jupiter.

Religions are all alike- founded upon fables and mythologies.

Where the preamble declares, that coercion is a departure from the plan of the holy author of our religion, an amendment was proposed by inserting “Jesus Christ,” so that it would read “A departure from the plan of Jesus Christ, the holy author of our religion;” the insertion was rejected by the great majority, in proof that they meant to comprehend, within the mantle of its protection, the Jew and the Gentile, the Christian and Mohammedan, the Hindoo and Infidel of every denomination.

  11. Ms Klobachur’s face looks like the president just slipped up behind her with a fist bump.
Alligator bit it, clean up to the elbow.

  12. Anyone who has a clue knows that Trump doesn’t appoint people because they might follow the Constitution he appoints them because he expects them to follow Trump.

  13. Maybe Don will and maybe he won’t. He is the guy that said if dismantling the constitution in whole or in part would keep him in the white house he was fine with that.

  14. “This statement by President Trump in no way implies that he wants to dismantle the constitution“

I beg to differ, that is exactly what he meant.
For the past 3.5 years Donald Trump has publicly claimed, as well as filed suit in 60 courtrooms, claiming the 2020 election was a ‘massive fraud’.

He did not say “IF there was a massive fraud… “

He did not say “WOULD allow for the termination… “

“A Massive Fraud of this type and magnitude allows for the termination of all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution,”

I think it’s clear most conservatives are in a state of denial about Donald Trump’s willingness to ignore the constitution and due process, even though he publicly has stated both on many occasions.

“I like taking guns away early,” Trump said. “Take the guns first, go through due process second.”
Trump also said some of his fellow Republicans were “petrified” of the NRA, called on lawmakers to produce a “comprehensive” gun bill, and squelched prospects for a GOP-backed concealed carry proposal as part of a broader gun package“.

My theory is most Trump supporters use the same part of their brain that allows them to believe religious delusions like talking snakes and donkeys, they choose to suspend disbelief and critical thinking in order to maintain their membership in the group.

    Sad.

    • We are going to bestow upon society what it needs most ie. a 21st Century Fransisco Franco, we will rid the populace of “the Leftist” menace, the cancerous blight ailing our nation and infesting it’s institutions

    • Your an enemy of our country and an enemy of mine. You will have to account for your lies, one day!

      • “Your an enemy of our country”

And you sir, are clearly an enemy of grammar.

“You will have to account for your lies, one day!“

Perhaps you would be kind enough to indicate what “lies” those are that you speak of?

  15. How the *uck does Clownbuchar know what she’s voting on …. I’ve never seen her with her eyes open, can she even see?
