You go girl! The more Democrat presidential candidate Hillary uses gun control as a … make that the way to put clear air between her and fellow presidential aspirant Bernie Sanders, the harder it will be for Ms. Clinton to paint herself as a moderate on gun control come the general election (should she make it that far). Referring to Mr. Sanders’ debate pronouncement that “all the shouting in the world” won’t move the needle on gun control, Ms. Clinton told a gathering of Texas Latinos that . . .

“I’ve been told by some quit talking about this, to quit shouting about this,” Clinton said at a rally with Latinos in San Antonio. “I will tell you right now, I will not be silenced and we will not be silenced — we must continue to speak out. I will keep taking on the NRA.”

As predicted, Ms. Clinton is adhering to a divide and conquer strategy on guns, attempting to split “sensible gun owners” from the “extremist,” not-to-say terrorist NRA. Look for the former First Lady to focus her anti-gun efforts on America’s oldest civil rights organization, rather than gun control per se.

Meanwhile, I wonder if gun running from Libya to Syria will come up in her the former Secretary of State’s testimony to the Benghazi committee….

    • Ugh, it’s not silenced, what she means is she won’t be suppressed. It really steams my veggies when folks get the nomenclature wrong.

  1. Don’t get your hopes up…

Typical primary behavior, pander to your base, then go moderate in the general.

    • Normally yes. In this case it all depends on the base and whether their enthusiasm transfers from Sanders to Clinton when the non Hillary backers realize the coronation is on. Sanders isn’t in this to win it otherwise he would have passed on the chance to say he’s more honest, trustworthy, and authentic using the email scandal like he did. I don’t think even Biden can change the calculus now. Clinton is the Democratic nominee regardless what any poll says now.

If the base doesn’t come home to Hillary fast enough, she stays vocal. If it does, she may quiet down in the general depending on the swing states.

    • Negative, not in this video-clip era. Obama was very careful both in ’08 and ’12 never to say anything bad about the 2A in public. The worst he ever did was the “cling to bible and guns” gaffe, but that wasn’t anti-gun, just elitist. He never even said a bad word about guns after Gifford was shot. It was always very measured. It wasn’t until he was re-elected in ’12 that the gloves came off. Given that Hillary has been anti-gun for a long time, it would be hard for her to pretend to be anything but, but it is very surprising that she isn’t even trying. With everything she’s doing, she is ensuring that the 2A vote will be VERY mobilized for ’16, something that Obama avoided. Time will tell.

    • As a former Democrat, and being part Latino myself, I think Latinos in general see Dems as more accommodating towards immigration, multiculturalism (whatever that is), and to lesser extent, public aid, and gun control, since lots of then come from anti-gun cultures.
Having seen how enterprising and religiously/socially conservative a lot of Latinos are, you’d almost think they’d go Republican. Who knew.

      • You pretty much nailed it. I’m a 5th or 6th generation American, and the farther back you go, the more leftist my ancestors were. Currently my family is largely conservative, votes republican, and are independently wealthy. Go figure, once you’ve worked your way up in society, you don’t want people dragging you back down. Its when you don’t know how much you can achieve on your own that you look to others to create an unneeded safety net.

      • The party affiliation of Latinos seems to depend on how assimilated they are. Latinos who have become “mainstreamed,” for lack of a better word, tend to self-identify as Americans of Latin descent and tend to vote just about the same way as non-Latinos who are in the same social, economic and educational circumstances.

Latinos who are not yet well assimilated seem to self-identify as Latino Americans (not as Americans of Latin descent — there’s a difference) and tend to vote more or less like any other recent arrivals.

There are exceptions, of course, but that’s they way it tends to play out.

  2. Let her shout all she wants. Just makes her look more like an idiot to more folks.
If anything it will get OUR fence sitters out to vote against her.
If she doesnt burst a vessel and die over it……….Just a phrase folks. Even I dont wish that on almost anyone.

    • I want her to double-down and say she will reinstate the assault weapons ban. Then I can rest easy that she isn’t getting anywhere near the Whitehouse.

      • I’ll wait to have a sigh of relief until after she’s either in prison, or the polls are closed and she’s officially lost.

    • In the event that the RINOs manage to get another useless fake Republican nominated and Shrillary manages to (shudder) win the election, she is aware that she must swear an oath to uphold The Constitution of the United States of America, isn’t she? I believe that includes ALL of the amendments to that constitution.

      • I’m torn whether to just laugh or, metaphorically, pat you on the head and say, “Ain’t that cute? Cliff thinks she gives a damn about that oath.”

      • “…she is aware that she must swear an oath to uphold The Constitution of the United States of America, isn’t she?”

Cliff, whatever you’re smoking, can I have some from your bag?

      • You’ve heard of “signing statements”? Well, like all politicians, she’ll just make a “swearing statement”, under her breath.

NO politician swears to uphold the Constitution as written; they all swear to uphold what they want it to mean. That’s why we have a SCOTUS that keeps whittling away at one right, chopping at another, hacking a third….

  3. This makes me so happy. My shares of Smith & Wesson (SWHC) and Ruger (RGR) will go through the roof next year. Thank you Mrs. Clinton for boosting gun sales.

  4. “Referring to Mr. Sanders’ debate pronouncement that “all the shouting in the world” won’t move the needle on gun control, Ms. Clinton told a gathering of Texas Latinos that if shouting won’t work, we need to try shrieking, which is my default setting anyway”.

    There, FIFY

  5. We have just got to get that universal background check up and running pronto because it wouldn’t have stopped any of the latest highly publicized shootings…

Oh I’m sorry, I was wrong, it wouldn’t have stopped any of them.

Oh well let’s just do something for some reason to make someone feel like they are somebody!

Or solve the problem with making sure people can defend themselves.

    • @Ed Thedog: More like “Let’s shout, get emotional, and look like we are going to do something so we can get the votes from those that are too stupid to figure out we are lying”.

  6. A government that denies the right of self defense to it’s citizens is on the road to dictatorship. History shows this to be true.

  7. But will she be SUPPRESSED? That’s the question. Well, just speaking for myself, it would have to be a QD suppressor, not a screw-on. Because ewww!

    • “Her voice is so shrill – she seems always to be shouting.”

It’s something they learn early from their mother.

  8. Clinton is deluded. I dare her to show up anywhere in rural American without a handpicked vetted crowd and trick camera work and watch how she’s booed away.

    • The problem is that rural America is a cultural minority. California and Illinois are examples. The rural areas are conservative and support gun rights. However, most of the population lives in anti-gun major cities and they dominate state politics.

  9. The Hillary “nice” act at debate is not going to last, still has “nails on chalk board” cackle laugh, crazy eyes, and those grandma pants suits. People may love their crazy granny but not going to vote for one.

    • That old crank is a bunny-boiler for sure. Listen to her scream, “I’m not gonna be ignored,” and be afraid. Be very afraid.

    • Those “grandma pants suits” keep us from seeing her Cankles.

Be grateful for the small things…

  10. Vice President Al Gore lost the election because he supported gun control. He lost his home state of Tennessee and west Virginia and the bill Clinton home state of Arkansas. The combined electorial count of these three states out number Florida’s. Blaming the Florida recount is just a distraction.

    Keep supporting gun control Hillary!!

    • Indeed. Gore lost to Bush by an electoral count of 266-271. Had Gore won his home state’s 11 electoral votes, he would have won the election (shudder) regardless of the results in FL. So the question is, what did Tennessee know about its hometown boy that so many other states didn’t know?

And why do Democrats usually win recounts when they start out behind? It kinda makes you wonder, doesn’t it.

      • “And why do Democrats usually win recounts when they start out behind? It kinda makes you wonder, doesn’t it.”

Ralph, it doesn’t matter how many votes someone gets in an election.

The only thing that matters is WHO IS COUNTING THE VOTES.

        • “Remember the first rule of politics. The ballots don’t make the results, the counters make the results. The counters. Keep counting.”

Boss Tweed, The Gangs of New York

  11. She should be boo’ed off every stage she appears on. “Gun control” means using both hands to steady your revolver. When can I legally acquire standard 30-round AR clone magazines in CA again, btw? And get rid of that insipid “bullet button”?

  12. Hilary….”The science is clear.”, “The science is settled.”, “There is no debate about the science of vaccines.”

going all in for gun control….Surprise, surprise.

  13. In states that permit it, we should all register as Democrats and vote for Bernie in the primaries.
