First the Chicago show, now Detroit . . . King 810 Cancel Show After Gun Issues at Detroit Venue – “King 810 cancelled a Detroit show over the weekend after not being allowed to bring guns into the venue. Though a few King 810 members are apparently licensed to carry in Michigan, St. Andrew’s Hall still forbid the band to possess firearms while within the venue. Fans of King 810 know very well the band’s outlook on firearms. The band celebrates their pro-gun lifestyle at shows, having guards with prop guns stand onstage.”

Reason No. 1: he’s not Hillary Clinton . . . Here’s Why Gun Sales Could Slow Under President Trump – “Gun sellers fear a decline in sales now that Second Amendment supporters will take over the White House and Congress. Sales have been booming for the past eight years, due in large part to rumors that President Barack Obama was going to pass gun-control legislation.”

Extreme Huntress 2017: Concealed Carry with Springfield Armory and Crossbreed Holsters – “In this special bonus edition of Extreme Huntress 2017, the finalists get a visit from Jason Burton of Springfield Armory, and Carol Craigshead, owner of Crossbreed Holsters. They’ll learn about the advantages and practicalities of protecting themselves and their families with the aid of concealed carry firearms, then they’ll take those lessons to the range.” (click image above to view video)

Because there’s always another way to limit Second Amendment rights in the Golden State . . . California DOJ Proposes ‘Emergency’ Regulations Regarding Magazines Capable of Holding More than 10 Rounds but None for ‘Assault Weapons’ – “Early this morning, the California Department of Justice provided notice of proposed regulations relating to magazines capable of holding more than 10 rounds. Included are changes to the requirements for obtaining and maintaining a ‘large-capacity magazine permit,’ new regulations addressing so called ‘large-capacity’ magazine conversion kits, new regulations on how individuals must ‘permanently alter’ a magazine to accept no more than 10 rounds, and new regulations regarding the transfer and possession of multi-tube shotgun designs.”

Remington Arms Company, LLC, (“Remington”) is pleased to announce that the V3 Field Sport Walnut is now shipping and available at retailers, dealers and distributors across the country. The V3 shotgun blends Remington’s legendary pointability with the reliability of the revolutionary VersaPort gas system in a compact and lightweight platform. A match only made in America. The Remington V3 flawlessly cycles all 2 ¾ to 3-inch 12 gauge loads while reducing recoil to a level previously unheard of in autoloaders.   For traditional good looks, the V3 is now available with American walnut woodwork and rich satin finish.

Some people have a lot of spare time . . . Overwatch: Reapers Shotguns Recreated in LEGO Form – “This LEGO genius and Overwatch fan recreates a perfect replica of Reaper’s hellfire shotguns and skull mask from just over 1,000 pieces of the classic building toy.”

An inconvenient truth . . . Corporate Lawyers Can’t Tell the Truth about Gun Laws – “The truth is that gun manufacturers have been found liable for defective firearms and gun dealers have been held both criminally and civilly liable for selling guns to prohibited persons. While spurious claims like the Connecticut suit against Remington Arms and the Brady Campaign’s lawsuit against Lucky Gunner were dismissed, Badger Arms was found liable for selling guns to an obvious straw purchaser – a case Brady Campaign attorneys were forced to leave after violating Wisconsin Supreme Court rules on pretrial publicity.”

Remember, passengers aren’t allowed to carry in Uber vehicles . . . Police: Uber Driver Stabs Beverly Hills Rider Multiple Times For Disrespecting His Car – “Police in a suburban Detroit neighborhood say an Uber driver is under arrest for stabbing a passenger who allegedly disrespected his car. The incident allegedly began when a couple from Beverly Hills called for an Uber driver after a holiday party.”

Too soon?

    • I seem to not be the best versed in ethnic groups in Turkey, the Kurds being the most famous currently. Is “Musloid” one of these?

    • There are reports he’s an actual police officer, possibly their version of SWAT. It’s how he was able to get the gun that close to begin with, he flashed police ID (originally believed faked).

    • Yes, he was a good shot. You can see the bullet exiting the Ambassador’s chest right through his heart. As to the shooter, Erdogan is claiming that the cop was one of those lousy no-good Gulenists he wishes to eliminate with prejudice. (What the hsooter’s actual motivations were will not be known unless he wrote them down, as he was eliminated.) Yup, this guy was a homegrown terrorist–whose whole family has now been detained. Great justice system they have in Turkey these days, very Soviet in its “efficiency.”

  1. Re: King 810 – the guns used on stage are props, to my knowledge. I think the issue arose because of a crew member wanting to carry a concealed firearm in the venue. Who can blame them? I’m not exactly a fan of the band, they are rehashed gangster nu-metal to my ears, but that doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be allowed to be protected.

  2. The Cal DOJ released “emergency” regulations because the Cal legislature labeled their law an emergency bill–so as to avoid the lengthy comment period required “regular” changes. Cute, huh? No one knows why they haven’t released regs on ARs, but it must be for nefarious reasons–or because they’ve realized that the new law as written will allow tens of thousands of Californians, with the right changes to their rifles, to avoid Bullet Buttons completely–and legally–by converting to featureless builds, which exactly the opposite of the result intended by the law. So I am guessing that they are trying to see how they can require owners to register their rifles based on the configuration as of December 31, 2016, without the one-year registration grace period to install Patriot Buttons or Thordsen stocks, since the law itself does not say that we cannot.

  3. I don’t know a thing about St. Andrew’s Hall, except from what I’ve gathered from a quick trip to their website. But this is from the Michigan CPL law:

Individuals licensed to carry a concealed pistol by Michigan or another state are prohibited from carrying a concealed pistol or a portable device that uses electro-muscular disruption technology on the following premises:

An entertainment facility that the individual knows or should know has a seating capacity of 2,500 or more

A quick glance at the pictures on their site doesn’t show seating for anywhere near 2,500. It looks like a mostly open room with no seats at all. And I believe permanent seating capacity has been determined to be the deciding factor in that particular section of the law (I could be wrong).

If that’s the case, their ban doesn’t hold force of law in Michigan. Keep calm and carry on.

  4. Nobody seems to want to comment on the fact that gun builders are liable for defective merchandise, and that gun dealers are criminally liable if they sell to prohibited persons, or those they can reasonably believe would use the gun for illegal purposes.
The first is no different from any other manufacturer. Why is it news? Oh, I see: The fake news that hoplophobes pass off that gun manufacturers are somehow shielded from such lawsuits. They’re not.
The other is simple; FFL holders must adhere to strict rules. This isn’t (or shouldn’t be) news.

  5. The Springfield guy says there are three aspects to conceal carry.
    Gun choice
    Carry options
He defined mindset as “You have decided that the world out there is not the one you thought it was and so you have decided to carry a firearm for protection”.
Uh, there’s more to mindset than just making up your mind to strap one on that day.
You have to understand that you will be potentially taking a life to protect your own. Just carrying a gun does not qualify someone as having the mindset to use it.

  6. Well, CA has discovered the “emergency” that there are magazines for firearms in the world.

Much like Proconsul Cuomo-the-Younger’s discover after 600+ years of gunpowder among the citizenry, one suspects this “emergency” is a fig leaf allowing them to use a procedure that might work, when normal channels, you know, the people and their representatives expressing their preferences, aren’t cutting it.

  7. “Doing The Will of the People”: Government operatives shopping venues, referenda, policies and processes to get the result they want, over the citizens’ opposition.

  8. Well you can tell by the way I wok I’m a Chinese cook no time to talk

Ah ah ah ah stayin’ alive, stayin’ alive….. 🙂
