You’re here, so you (probably) like guns. You’re (probably) American so you (probably) like dogs. Given the huge overlap on the Venn diagram of dog-loving People of the Gun, the Puppies With Guns Calendar Kickstarter project seems destined for success. The brains — and talent — behind this project, Ben Haulenbeek, is a professional photographer, FFL and a 2nd Lieutenant in the Army. And while you still have some time before Christmas, the Kickstarter listing expires in ten days (press release below). Woof! . . .

Next year is almost here. Help make the 2015 Puppies With Guns Calendar happen.

You like guns, she likes puppies. You both like the Puppies With Guns Calendar. Christmas comes once a year; buy two of ’em.

We all know how it is. It’s getting close to Christmas and all you got her was another set of those stupid thick pink socks with the vinyl sticky crap on the bottom. Maybe you didn’t even buy them this year; you got a two pack last year preparing for this moment of forgetfulness and love-lost. Its okay. She took care of you when you barfed in the neighbor’s mailbox after shotgunning sangria. Your lady deserves better.

We got your back man. Get the Puppies With Guns Calendar. Enough cute puppies to keep any wonderful lady happy for 12 months, and enough guns to keep you from buying more of them and pissing her off; for a week. Maybe.

Head over to kickstarter.com and check it out. Be sure to check the different levels of donations so you can get some fresh decorations for your walls, that way she quits complaining about your Slayer posters.

Oh, and ladies, we love you to the ends of the world! Thanks for putting up with our crap, and shooting too!

  1. “This calendar is the culmination of over four years of work.”

It took them four years to take 12 pictures?

    • It’s not like this is a full time job for anyone. Also, it’s not terribly often that my friends get a new puppy and are also willing to let me use them for these photos… I guess it would be better put “a culmination of four years of randomly sometimes taking a picture.”

  2. Squeeee! Look at the little bully baby!

Sorry. My brain stops working in the presence of puppies. Sweet, itty-bitty widdle… Ack, it happened again. Signing off now.

  3. Sorry to be a downer but why is there a stack of 5.56 cans with a browning? Also Ironic they used a German dog to pose with the firearm that kicked some Nazi butt. I am a dog lover, and a gun geek, so maybe if this was in a store but I’m not a kick starter type of person.

    • The 5.56 cans with the M2 is by far the biggest complaint gun nerds have. In a perfect world, yes they would be .50 cans, but you’ve got to work with what you’ve got. It was hard enough getting access to the M2, and I wan’t not going to do the photo for absence of the proper ammo can…

The real point of this calendar thing is to validate putting more time and effort into the series. Ideally I’d like to match specific firearms with specific breeds, so the photos make sense.

      • Beautiful photos, maybe a English setter with a fine crafted over under. Sorry to give sh!t about the ammo cans but it was like finger nails on a chalkboard.

        • I did work in NYC for a few years, and Holland & Holland has a store in midtown. I really wanted to approach them, but finding a gun friendly dog breeder in NYC, not happening… The double barrel shotgun with a game dog has been an illusive one. It’s one I won’t compromise as far as the pairing of breed and equipment.

  4. Ing, thanks for the link, just ordered Defend Kittens T-Shirt for my sister-law’s Christmas present, that and a couple of boxes of ammo, she’ll be a happy camper!

  5. All I can think of is cops using those guns to kill those puppies. Maybe I can convince myself the puppies will use the guns to kill cops. In self defense of course.

    • I was thinking along those lines, too. I could see this hanging up in the locker room at SWAT HQ.

  6. I will have to get one of these for my niece. My niece is obsessed with puppies to the point that she can’t throw away a paper if there is a picture of a dog on it. And her mom dislikes guns. Happy niece, unhappy gun disliker. Win-win

  7. Look at the dogs in those pictures. Even they are like “what are you doing, man? This is kind of creepy and weird.”

  8. What? You post this but won’t give me a chance to get some airtime with my Indiegogo Dirty Jeep Girl Calendar? http://igg.me/at/djg I link to your blog on my site! My Campaign is Safe For Work, relatively anyway. I just think you are Anti-Jeep! I am all for Guns, Safety, and the whole nine yards, and identify with the Ethos of this blog. I just don’t happen to have any Guns on my calendar promo page! I will work on it though if that makes a difference. Puppies and Guns, damit man!
