George definitely missed on purpose for the .357 shot. In the “recap” episode, you can see him take the shot, then get his reaction in one long camera take – no editing. He reacted to his miss too quickly for that to be an honest reaction. He knew he would miss before he took the shot.
The Sharps shot…no idea. But if he was willing to throw one, I’m willing to believe what he said about what he did.
