TTAG Exclusive: World’s First 3D Printed [Metal] Gun Fires 500 Rounds

Full review with takedown and multiple rounds fired on Monday. Suffice it to say, the guys at Solid Concepts ran 500 rounds through the gun today and left Red’s range with the same number of holes, fingers and toes with which they entered. As well as a fully functional (if a bit cranky here and there) 1911.

  1. Shouldn’t we be talking about making going to a Chris Rock concert “as expensive and onerous as possible”? Fair is fair, right?

  2. Dude the hell with concealment. clearly they are red shirts, undercover, from the Enterprise. Note the Tribble ( or Donald Trump’s hair piece) in the lower right of the picture. Clearly they have beamed down to prevent the Tribble incursion of 1985.

  3. I saw the video; if the cops had stopped chasing the man; would he have stopped driving wrecklessly and been picked up later? Quiensabe. But at the point he drives onto campus and driving the way he did using the truck as a weapon and not having traction to over turn a much bigger vehicle like a truck, I would have to say the cop did the right thing and stopped the threat. The man made his bed and he paid the price for being a danger to the public.

  4. Porn ‘staches, perms, Speedos, shoulder rigs, Buds and muddy water. EWWWW! Thank God that they’re not glistening in tanning butter. There simply isn’t enough eye bleach for that.

  5. I should also add, gun forums are just as bad. I’ve been banned from a few for not agreeing with their political views, and not in a trolling way either (although I was called a troll) but it didn’t matter.

People on the internet don’t want to hear ANYTHING that doesn’t reinforce their distorted, insane beliefs. It’s disgusting.

  6. Yankee Marshal is a good guy, but he’s a great example of how a little information is a dangerous thing. Yelling ‘fire’ in a crowded theater can be illegal without there being a dangerous situation created. There doesn’t have to be a stampede. All there has to be is a good amount of annoyance. BOOM, disorderly conduct. The point is that the 1st Amendment IS clearly limited, a point which he seems to almost purposefully ignore by nibbling around the issue. Just not a good legal analysis at best, disingenuous at worst.

  7. How can an individual, other than an agent or representative of the State, violate the Constitution? The Constitution tells the federal governement what it can and cannot do, not the individual. How can this guy claim to teach the Constitution? Has he ever really reflected on it’s meaning? The more Metcalf tries to justify his opinion, the more ignorant he sounds.

  8. I’m in the virtually no limits in the 2A crowd – shall issue, no mag cap limits, no ATF, no tax stamps, silencers ok, eliminate 3/4 of federal LEOs, no barrel length limits, no caliber limits, etc.

I’m not for child molestors and 5 year olds packing heat without some sort of supervision. I think some folks who are of the absolutely no limits / regulations whatsoever crowd need to unite with the “everything cops can have John Q. Public can have” crowd. I’m ok with the rights of felons being restored given some sort of factual belief that recidivism is not eminent. We’re essentially saying the same thing – we want 2A rights to be expanded consistent with the intent of the framers of the constitution. I’m fine with Metcalf being fired, and I’m fine with healthy discussion based upon facts and reality.

I’m fully aware of the civilian disarmament complex, and continue to oppose their efforts. Part of the anger here is surely due to the massive amount of infringements already put in place in IL, NJ, DC, CA, NY, MD, etc. Further, the signing of the Arms Trade Treaty could have potential for massive additional infringements and price increases. Our priority should be in expanding rights, not the complete vilification of people who might support some sort of regulation because they don’t have the wisdom to know better.

For God’s sake, let us not eliminate dissent in the same manner that the anti’s do.

  9. totally off topic, but do y’all think $120 for 450rds of 12g a target loads is a good deal? and the ammo isn’t new, it is like from the early 2000s, but it still works. just a hypothetical question :).

  10. Knight’s SR-15E3 IWS Carbine MOD1
BCM Gunfighter Grip Mod 0 – Black
Aimpoint T1 with IO cover, sitting on the stock Aimpoint mount
Viking Tactics VTAC sling – Black
    KNS anti-walk pins.

I’ll be adding a Vortex flash hider and a BCM Gunfighter charging handle soon. And an Aimpoint magnifier somewhere down the road.
    Pretty light, pretty basic.

  11. I think that troglodyte with the “follow the empire state” sign is a fine example of the anticulturalist archetype put forward here.

I’ve met so many New Yorkers that think everywhere else should be just like New York. They can even be nice people, until you start talking to them about how things should be. New Yorkers can go well beyond rude without even realizing it, because they have lived in that ridiculous madhouse their whole lives.

I like pastrami on rye as much as the next guy, but NYC isn’t that great and all that good food comes from Jersey anyway.
