TTAG’s asked Team GLOCK‘s PR peeps if Tori Nonaka (above) will blog for us. To that end we’re kissing-up to the Austrian gunmaker by sharing news of their big win at the 2013 Australasia International Practical Shooting Confederation (IPSC) Handgun Competition in Rotorua, New Zealand. Nonaka won the Hi-Lady Standard Division while KC Eusebio earned Overall Match Winner. The Level IV regional qualifier for the 2014 World Championship drew more than 750 international competitors and lasted four days as competitors took on the challenge of 24 different stages. Eusebio shot a GLOCK 34 9×19 Open pistol prepared by ZEV Technology, and Nonaka shot a GLOCK 35 .40 pistol customized by SJC Guns. Both competitors were awarded the IPSC Presidents Medal for their international participation and respective accomplishments.
RF or whoever may be moderating, this may warrant a separate item for TTAG:
I spent 25 great minutes watching a video “Publius Huldah Shows Federal Gun Control is Unlawful” on vimeo.com. She is well spoken, thorough and frankly inspirational.
I was convicted of a shooting death at age 20 (fight between two boys). Did 10 years and now 10 years later I am a family man and business owner with over 30 employees. I personally don’t want a gun. I don’t hunt and of course I’ll do whatever it takes to protect my family but see no need for a gun.
However I will note that this is my personal preference and don’t know if it should be legal or illegal for me to have one. Like someone said above, if I ever wanted one I’m sure I could buy one off the street. Probably is better that I could by one that could be traced back to me. Mosts killings are done out of passion anyway.
Nice choice. I laughed out loud at that one when I read it yesterday. There were some other zippy ones, too, but that’s a good pick.
Go to the SPLC’s site, under the heading “Hate and Extremism”
there is a listing called “Domestic Terrorism in the US Since 1995”.
I’m sure everyone here will be surprised that when viewed the
list is actually titled “Terror from the Right”.
I guess left wing terrorists are not only granted immunity, but
their actions aren’t even worth reporting.
Would rather have the 6.5 Grendel, 6.8 SPC, or two rifles (AR15/AR10) for the same or less price.
$2600.00 for a “boxed” AR is just a little over the top – regardless of caliber. While I am a big fan of the 7.26 x 51 (.308), having fired it for years in competition and having carried it during the first four years of my USMC career, I am also a fan of the AR platform, in 5.56. My “loyalty” to the AR platform in 5.56 has a lot more to do with reliability and accuracy than damage on target.
And of course I am referring to the A2 and newer variants – not the older design(s). I think some of the rush to “upgrade” the design to .308 (or at least get one in the safe), is a little premature. There are still questions lingering about the long term affect of longer cartridges on the inner surfaces of the upper receiver.
This is not to say I am not initially impressed with the performance of some manufactured models. I have even seen one in .300 WM, that seemed to be a real dinger all the way to 1000.
My hope is they will truly work well. In general, I like the platform, but $2500.00 for a gun that can’t stayunder the 1 MOA threshold, is not going to end up in my safe.
This kind of demonstration can now be handled expeditiously by the Illinois State Police, with Eric Holder’s assistance. Just declare that everyone out demonstrating is an “extremist”, round them up and hold them indefinitely in the INS centers that were recently emptied of illegal aliens. See? No problemo for the anti-gun politicians of Chicago.
Dammit man, I was hoping for better news! I want (ed) one based on the reviews. You guys have mentioned some interesting replacements….is a Ruger worth considering?
BTW, I’d expect more problem guns to be in the pipeline now, factories running all-out with no end has to wear down the workers and impact maintenance. Same with ammo makers I am sure. So be careful gang…
See, guns DO kill people.
