Everybody knows about FOBUS holsters, right? I’ve got three or four of them myself. They’re made of plastic, they’ve got paddles, they’re ridiculously affordable and they’re available for almost every handgun ever made…

But they’re not very concealable. At least, not until now. Their new IWB holster is shaped in a gentle swell-shaped contour to keep it from printing through your trousers or cover garment. As far as retention goes, it held the Glock-shaped ‘blue gun’ extremely tightly.

The FOBUS price list didn’t include an MSRP, but if history is any guide it should come in at around $30. We’ll keep our eye out for a tester in the coming year.

  1. I don’t think these are new unless they’ve just tweaked a pre-existing design. I’ve got one sitting in my range bag. It think my father gave it to me.

  2. Wow….

I’m getting my CCW within the next week and have been worried about holsters and the only people I knew of who made good holsters is Dragon Leather Works and I can’t afford one of those… But FOBUS is in my price range, and if TTAG likes them they have to be decent.

Oh and I live in Ohio, so frak the conceal part, I just need something to hold the gun safely, don’t need to conceal. As long as a T-shirt covers *most* of it I’m happy.

    • It is nice to be in Ohio, no AWB or other inane blue state rules. The only problem is that I have gotten positively lazy and sometimes walk out of the house printing more than Random House…no one notices, or really cares for that matter. I could have an AR sticking out of my pants and I don’t think anyone would see it.

Looks like a nice holster. At that price I might pick one up.

  3. That does not appear to be an IWB holster to me. I looks like it sits between the belt and pants. Am I wrong?

Typically I say “friends don’t let friend carry Fobus.” I hope that changes.

  4. That just looks painful to carry IWB.

Anyone looking for an IWB holster, just do yourself a favor and get a leather/kydex hybrid like the Comp-Tac MTAC or CrossBreed SuperTuck. Having a leather backing against your body is just so much more comfortable than having hard plastic or kydex digging into your side, but you still get the hold-open and secure fit of kydex.

  5. I have one, they are very comfortable. Matter of fact I think I loaned it to someone and never got it back. Carrying IWB with some holsters can be a pain, literally. This is a very good holster for someone who hasnt built up a tollerance for the discomfort. The only problem is that it takes up a lot of space. I noticed that this holster made my pants fit tighter than the same gun in a different IWB holster. Condensation builds up between you and holster, but I do live in an area where its 110 degrees in the summer.

  6. Simply desire to say your aticle is as surprising.
