“Senator Joe Manchin is speaking out after a gun manufacturer cited his stance on gun control as a key deterrent for relocating to West Virginia,” woay.com reports. “Manchin says he encouraged Beretta to move to the Mountain State from Maryland, citing West Virginia’s workforce and commitment to the Second Amendment. The Senator says the company has twisted his words, and is deceiving the people of this state in an attempt to gain political ground. Manchin is the owner of two Beretta shotguns, and he says he is disappointed in the direction their management has chosen to take.” Which is nothing compared to the disappointment firearms freedom-loving West Virginians feel for Senator Joe Manchin.

  1. Looks like another one exposed his true positions. Kind os like some RINOs who keep hoping no one will notice.

  2. poor baby. He should have stood up! Politicians hate it when they can’t out think people.

    • Technically you are correct however, Manchin could easily be a Republican of the sort we identify as a RINO. After all, he is hardly a Progressive.

      • So you are saying the following Manchin voted for are not progressive? Obamacare taxpayer funded abortions and contraception, WV Cap and Trade, gun controls, bigger government legislation on many occasions, to name a few off the top of my head. Are you daft or just plain ignorant?

  3. When will the great people of W. VA be voting this guy out? Is not his list deceit long enough?

      • I feel your pain as I am from CT and we have a rich target environment of those who should be recalled.

  4. Dems are the party of gun confiscation, regardless of what they parrot to the MSM, Big Joe will just have to harden the phuck up…

  5. When you are putting out special statements to counteract the actions of businesses not even in your state its time to retire. Joe is DONE.

    • See, who needs the people of W. VA when you have friends like these:

“Mayor Michael Bloomberg, the gun control movement’s most active and affluent advocate, will host a fundraiser at his Manhattan home later this month for Sen. Joe Manchin, according to an invitation for the event obtained by BuzzFeed.”

      • Bloomberg with his money has and will continue to be the biggest obstacle for all who oppose him. He will continue to generously help those who help him.

Those who have money attract more money; that’s a proven time honored tradition. Bloomberg is simply staying true to form.

I don’t fault him for that; I fault him for his “progressive” positions and immoral elitist arrogance.

  6. The wizard of OZ called, he wants his chair back.

So he isn’t in support of the second amendment and doesn’t want job creation in the state or?

    I’m confused.

    • Manchin supports the second amendment. He did not propose anything but to expand background checks to gunshows and internet sales. Also, he excluded any background checks for gun transfers from family members or friends. Manchin has long been a member of the NRA (In case you do not know, the $1 million president of the NRA was a draft dodger that his parents had his family doctor indicate he had a mental illness to keep him from going to war. Perhaps his biggest fight is because he may not have the mental capacity to even own a gun.) Any gun manufacturer will indicate that they only want guns in the right hands. This is a complete political indication. They had not made any committment to West Virginia, and any committment to expand anywhere. It is just simply politics playing.

      • Given the bill he co-sponsored, I’m going to have to call BS on “he supports the Second Amendment”. That’s worse BS than saying “I support the Right to Vote, but I also support a Poll Tax and Literacy Test, oh, but white people are grandfathered in.”

        • exactly. Joe might as well have said he has Black friends when asked about the racism of his position that would raise the cost of gun ownership, and thus affect those who are not White and well off.

      • Assuming you’re not a troll (a pretty big assumption), you need to read the bill he supported, not his talking points about the bill.

      • Anita, Pretty clear you did not read Manchin’s bill.

And are you saying Minchin is not “a millionaire” and not “a draft dodger” himself?

Born 1947, puts Manchin smack in the middle of the Vietnam era draft. And he has no military service.

        • I wondered if Senator Joe Manchin was a draft dodger. I think his college football injury may have been the reason he didn’t serve. He told Chuck Hagel he wanted to “serve” with him in the senate because he was not partisan.

  7. Joe just cost the state and people of WVA jobs and money. Tar and feathers comes to mind.

  8. What the media refuses to mention is that the Manchin Amendment would have meant a lot more jobs in West Virginia where the FBI NICS center is located and the background checks are performed.

    • Yeah thanks to the crooked old (now DEAD) POS Senator Robert KKK Byrd (D-WV). That legacy pork needs to be butchered, cleaned, and smoked.

  9. Liar. Coward.

And these people have the conceit to believe they have a monopoly on TEARS.

    • Jay Rockerfella was a repub in New York. But when there were no positions open for him to buy there he moved to WVA, switched to dem and bought the state. Or at least office in the state.

  10. I’m not sure I understand what the “esteemed gentleman” from West Virginia claims that Berretta has as motivation here. I have a hard time seeing what they gain by lying or fabricating as Mr. Manchin is asserting. Seems to me, HE is the interested party with real motive, and plenty to gain.

  11. Note to WV conservative voters: Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

  12. This guy is just like most politicians, say what you think the voters like, then turn around and screw them.I hope the people in his state vote him out of office,he is a liability,I’m a NRA member and I hope they save the money on trying to help him.It is too late for any damage control on his part.Be prepared and ready.Keep your powder dry.

  13. We are selling out in Maryland to move to WV hathjust for the guns. Now what do we do. Stay in MD?

    • Move to WV and vote Republican to stop the lying special interest Democrats from keeping WV in the bottom 10 of all categories.

  14. I love it when the people of West Virginia vote dems in office and then cry about them acting like dems. A state that voted for Obama, after he said he would put coal out of business, then complains about losing coal industry jobs deserves a Manchin.

    • Obama did not win West Virginia. A democratic presidential candidate has not carried the state since Clinton in 1996. The criticism for electing Manchin (and Rockefeller and Byrd) is justified.

    • He didn’t carry WV, but the UMWA endorsed him in 08. They got wise and didn’t repeat that mistake last year.

      • Union leadership did not come out against Obama either, just like Manchin. They gave Obama WV Cap and Trade in 2009 and now cry foul as he continues his war on coal as promised. With intelligence and judgement like that, we need new leadership.

  15. Beretta had no real intention of moving to WV, and frankly, shame on all the manufacturers that continue to operate in states like MD, NY and Conn. Get out of those states and only sell them (the state governments and their agencies) the types of firearms that the citizens of those states are allowed to own. It’s time for the manufactures to start applying some pressure of their own.

Joe made a mistake when he came out so soon after the Newtown incident, and has learned real quick that he was reading the pulse of this state wrong. He won’t be long for the Senate though as I don’t think he cares for the Senate, and have been told he doesn’t plan on running for second term.

  16. I guess Beretta wasn’t moved by your weepy displays of emotion and “common sense” gun control legislation. You reap what you sow, Senator.

  17. An ancient Italian company named Beretta “is deceiving the people of this state in an attempt to gain political ground.”

does he ever consider the words coming out of his hole ? Desperation has roots in stupidity.

  18. We would welcome Beretta in east Ky, we are suffering badly since the War on Coal began in ’08.

  19. Joe has an upcoming fund raiser sponsored by Bloomer at Bloomer’s home on July 22. That pretty much sums it up. Manchin is a Gun Banner and he can stick that bolt action deer rifle of his up his ass.
