“A lot of politicians will show up at a gun-rights groups like this, and they’ll say, ‘we support the Second Amendment; we’re all for you,’ and then you send them off to Washington and, before you know it, they vote for the Brady Bill or trigger locks, or they vote against concealed weapons because they’re just giving you lip service.” Whenever a politician calls politicians spineless, conniving, amoral bastards, well, you gotta laff mate. But you can understand Republican U.S. Senate candidate Rand Paul’s “He not really pro-gun” insinuation against his opponent in the Kentucky Senate race. “Jack Conway is a strong supporter of the Second Amendment and gun owners’ rights,” his spinmeister said. Ah, but who’s more pro-gun? Paul is determined to be that guy. To wit . . .

“Paul urged gun advocates at the Louisville show to visit his campaign Web site,” Kentucky.com reports. “Which also includes a speech delivered at the Knob Creek Machine Gun Shoot and Military Gun Show.” [see: video above]

Interesting that Paul doesn’t let loose on full auto in the non-speechifying clip [not magazine, video above]. Is that a good thing or a bad thing? We report you deride.

Meanwhile, there’s nothing about gun control on Conway’s website. No shooting videos. No mention of the issue. Yet.
