“I want to be very clear and tell you I’m a proud gun owner. Nobody’s going to take my guns, and I’m sure as hell not going to let ‘em take your guns.” – West Virginia Senator Joe Manchin [via .com]

  1. “I’m not gonna give them mine, why would I want to give them yours.” – Leon County (FL) Sheriff Larry Campbell

It’s a promise I’d like to hear from more 2A supporters in LE and government.

  2. Seriously?!?! Are we forgetting that THIS guy was all for an AWB just a month ago? And this guy even had an A rating from the NRA. He heard the public backlash and changed his tune. You can’t trust any politician… Especially a democrat. NEVER forget that people. We HAVE to stay on guard. They realize hey can’t accomplish this at the Federal level so they are trying to get it done state by state. Only look at New York, Conn., and Colorado to know this is true. Stay vigilant, and never forget what scum like him said in the past, despite the song they sing now!

    • “Nobody’s coming to take your guns” is now about as persuasive as “Nobody NEEEEEEEDS an assault weapon!”

Oh – Feinstein now refers to the Second Amendment as “your personal pleasure” which needs to be done away with “for the children”.

I scored some 7.62x39mm this week. Come & get it, DiFi.

  3. The phrase “nobody wants to take your guns” has lost all meaning to me.

Too often the same mouthpiece stating so will follow up with a barrage of justifications for the support of caps, restrictions, registrations, and “nobody needs…” garbage.

But it’s all well and good because some suit in Washington says “nobody wants to take..”

On the authoritarian gun-grabbing spectrum actually taking anything is the last step. After arbitrary limitations, making felons out of everyday people, imposing taxes and fees, making felons out of more people, registering, making felons out of still more people, prohibiting transfer, making felons out of anyone who hasnt gotten caught in the felony net yet.

Then, after all that, they take what’s left.

The whole process takes a few decades. We see it everyday in heavily restricted states and nations. The process is ongoing and they’re never done. Places like the UK, NY, CA, MA, Aus, they want more and more and more. Which is why compromise is essentially surrender.

You wont let them take my guns? Sorry but that’s as meaningless and “no new taxes” and “most transparent administration ever.”

    • Well said Shire. When somebody says, “nobody wants to take your guns” they are either very naive or lying through their teeth. It is quite obvious to the most casual observer that there are persons on this planet that would, without a second thought, push that magic button that instantly vaporized all firearms. While I don’t advocate this, I suspect the world would end up a better place for someone pushing the “arm everyone over 15yrs old” rather than the “vaporize all firearms” button. It all gets down to the equilibrium our society settles down to after the dust settles.

    • He hasn’t picked a side. Don’t trust Turncoat Joe.

“The only bill that I have worked on and am working on is one that will keep guns out of the hands of criminals and people mentally deranged.”

This is pretty much the same thing all the gun grabbers are saying. The gun grabbers aren’t lying when they say they don’t want to take our guns. They will let us keep the ones we have and prevent us from getting new ones.

  4. No-Choice: 87% Of U.S. Counties Have No Access To Abortion Clinic (VIDEO)

There are three states in the country that have only one abortion clinic, Rachel Maddow reported on MSNBC last night. Others heavily restrict abortion, ban abortions in clinics or any facility that receives public funds, or ban abortion counseling or clinic recommendations. The effect, she explained, is that in 87% of all U.S. counties it is not possible to get an abortion. “Why bother making it illegal if you can just make it impossible to get?”

    Watch:

  5. I saw “Let me be clear” and thought for sure this was going to be another Obama clip. What did I learn from this? Whenever a politician prefaces a statement with “Let me be clear,” the mouthpiece is hot and a pile of BS is headed down range.

  6. I haven’t seen flip-flops like that since my last trip to the beach.

It’s amazing to me that politicians can live with themselves. How do you exist like that?

  7. When any politician says “we’re not coming for your guns,” I reach for mine. The only reason they won’t come for the guns is if they believe that they will get them one bullet at a time. Mao was right — political power comes from the barrel of a gun — and that’s why they want to take away our guns, and our power.

  8. Joe is liking his comfy office in DC and realizing the next election will not go well for him if he keeps his current company . . . . . tough crap! He needs to get on the floor of the senate and call DiFi a looney whore before I trust him . . .

  9. He realizes his political future is in trouble. His office has probably gotten tons of calls and emails from people who put him in office and they demanded that he change his position, or else.

Sounds like a battle won. Chalk one up for the good guys.

  10. at least in Cali the politicians are honest – they want to confiscate guns and make no amends about it.

but this whole “nobody wants to take your guns” reminds me of corporate America saying “nobody’s going to lose their jobs” and the next headline is X% gets on the chopping block for restructuring purposes. I’m always leery of general swooping comments like “Nobody” or “EVERYONE” because it’s strictly untrue.

  11. Nobody is going to take your guns…

They are going to require you to bring your guns to them…

You see, because that bill he was talking about, the would keep guns out of the hands of criminals and deranged people, would also create a national database. The police can then just send you a letter and require you to bring all your guns down to the station. No fuss no muss, and no guns.

  12. When he was running for election there was no hint at all about his wanting to ban our semi auto sporting rifles but once he gets elected then he comes out for a ban; kinda reminds me of someone else whose last name starts with an O!

    Death before slavery!

    • This is a response to an National Association for Gun Rights television ad that compared him to “someone else whose last name starts with an O” and I don’t believe him for a second.

  13. All he is gonna do is say that anybody who owns a ‘patrol rifle’ or ‘high cap’ (standard) mag is a CRIMINAL or DERANGED. See how they operate.
