“Anyone who has a different point of view from me actually doesn’t live in the state, that’s a fact.”
I hope it’s a colossal waste of money.
Dig deeper…..when it fails….tax write off
I’m all for it. The best thing a liberal can do is keep talking, Only then does the general populace see what they are actually about. Enough with the catch phrases and slogans. Tell us your story Mr. Psycho
Never interrupt your enemy while he’s making a mistake.
How is the Jewish uprising going to be anti-gun anti-NRA?
I think he’s talking two different movies. Is it ironic at all that he wants to applaud the armed Jewish resistance and simultaneously slander the right to bear arms?
Nah.
I figure it would pretty much go like this; Streep would play a mother who has her little child (or children) killed by an active shooter and then goes on a crusade to get “common sense” gun confiscation legislation passed, only to be rebuffed by a fictitious NRA (or NRA-like organization) that uses every “dirty trick” in the book, lying, cheating, maybe even having her family assassinated. Perhaps ruining her financially. Basically Erin Brokovitch but with ‘guns’.
All in a feeble attempt to get the audience to equate the NRA with those evil companies, or to make the NRA look even worse.
I don’t think that fiction will change anyone’s mind. Only the hopelessly delusional that already think the NRA is some evil organization would fall for that.
Is anyone else confused by this quote? It seems utterly contradictory on its face. Or maybe a better question is whether Weinstein is confused.
“It’s not a Holocaust story as much as it’s Jews with guns. It’s my whole philosophy,” Weinstein said. “It’s the idea that when injustice is so great you can’t just march into the camps.”
Yeah, I didn’t get that at all. What the heck was his point? Anyway, just some fat , self-important blowhard who’s about to waste a boatload of investor’s money on a flop. Too bad a great actress like Meryl Streep will waste her considerable talents on this mess.
It completely baffles me how any Jew could be anti-gun. And that particular statement, when paired with the response to Howard Stern’s question, proves to me that Harvey Weinstein is so deluded that he doesnt even see the irony of his own words and actions.
I think the comment was referencing a different upcoming movie. The Holocaust one is not the anti-gun film.
Outstanding.
Moron lobby
I see what you did there…. cool.
They’ve succeeded. They haven’t even made the movie yet, however I already wish “they weren’t alive.” 🙂
Yawn. Empty promises, hollow threats…give us your best shot Mr. Whinerstein. Like Rydak said, the best thing a socialist can do is keep talking. Never stop the enemy when he is making a mistake.
Hm… Sounds like a credible threat of harassment and inciting violence… Yup sounds like a terrorist threat to me. I think this scumbag needs an all expense paid trip to GITMO.
But then he’ll “find” a gun and rise up…
“It’s going to be like crash and burn,” he said.
I assume he means the book ( http://books.google.com/books/about/Crash_and_Burn.html?id=pWl5AAAAQBAJ ) and not the movie ( http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0099313/ ).
In either case, meh.
To quote Ace Ventura, “fiction can be fun, but I find the reality section more enlightening.”
The people who pay to see movies typically do not pay to see overtly leftist movies. Remember how long Elysium was in theaters? 15, maybe 20 minutes?
I actually wasted $10 to go see that.
WOW, his hypocrisy is really showing. He made a ton of money with movies that feature violence and guns (Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Equilibrium, Django Unchained, and Sin City just to name a few). Now he wants to make a movie to say guns are bad? Talk about biting the hand that feeds you. He should be thanking gun owners of America for paying to see his movies. Instead, he wants to dump on them. Nice.
I can’t speak for anyone else, but I know when an important Hollywood person takes a stand against something I support, I’m inconsolable FOR WEEKS. I stay up nights wondering “Why don’t these people like me?” and then I wish I were dead as I cry myself to sleep. And the next day I wake up and the nightmare of being scorned by cultural elites starts all over again.
I haven’t been able to stop shaking since I read this story last night. I was all like “Oh my God. A Hollywood executive hates me. I think I’m going to throw up.”
Ok. Please let me be clear
I AM NOT TROLLING BY ASKING THIS QUESTION!
And mods, if this is out of line, please do what you need to, to remove this post.
Will it be off limits to ask her what her opinion is on the debacle she, her ex husband, and “young shooter not to be named” went through?
Not from a personal anguish aspect. But on how she feels it affects the shooting world, how female shooters are viewed, and other aspects?
NOT TROLLING! Wondering if we will be able to gleam off of her perspective from the ground floor.
Sure bring it b!tch. Oh and wait until the NRA, GOA, and TTAG get video of weinstein’s personal security detail and put it out there. Classic fail
I’m just trying to picture the speed loaders for this thing
Man oh man …. OMG…I woke up just now and dropped by TTAG for a quick check. Saw that photo on this post and boy it looked like Mayor Mike Bloomberg. Mayor Mike pointing a 1911 at me ! Holy SH%t….I nearly had a coronary. Please don’t scare me like this again…..LMAO….
I recently bought a Ruger SR 45 and have had great experience with it. So far 100 rounds of 230 gr. FMJ WWB with only a light primer strike on round 73; i merely reset the striker and it went bag the next time. My accuracy was excellent with 3″ groups at 15 or 20 yards. The front sight is actually mounted off center on mine but the rear is adjustable. I have medium hands with long fingers, I actually love the feel of a CZ 97. The ruger is almost too slim for me, but still fills my hand.
I did clean the thing really well before shooting including the strikeer channel and assembly. If you do not do this, then you will have issues.
The trigger is great for me. I prefer single action and leave me finger off the trigger until go time. Once I place my finger on trigger, a flame will be coming out the end.
As for the safety, I use it to carry condition one and can brush it off with reflex. It is hard to reapply without use of off hand, but so what.
Just one man’s thoughts. For me it was $ well spent.
It must be exhilarating to be that drunk on your own ego!
I would be interested to see a comparison of this vs a competition gas gun.
Everyone immediately says piston systems recoil more, but I cant think of any that were geared toward 3 gun…
Hahahahahahahah!!!!
Wait….”catches breath”….so, Mr “Action Movie Producer” Weinstein is anti gun? The man should be THANKING the NRA, considering how much money guns and action movies have put in his wallet.
Someone should count how many people get shot in the movies this guys produced.I’ll bet it tops Chicago’s homicide numbers.
The number of people shot in “Django Unchained” tops Chicago’s homicide numbers.
I guess this means he won’t be making anymore Quentin Tarantino movies.
Stop the evil machine guns… for the children.
He should stick to “Spy Kids” flicks.
Here’s a thought: Get rid of the NFA crapola and make everything over-the-counter with a NICS check.
“Get rid of the NFA crapola and make everything over-the-counter.”
FIFY
Background checks are an infringement.
Sounds like logic fail to me…
Virginia defines “person” as “including a trust”.
Machine Gun Act says “person”, including “firm, partnership, etc…”
To me, that means “person” in all it’s definitions PLUS firms, partnerships, etc…
If they wanted to EXCLUDE trusts, they would have to specifically say that rather than just list additional groups above and beyond that already defined as “person”.
Wednesday night, I took a bible class taught by an Orthodox Rabbi. He is an intelligent man yet is in complete denial or ignorance that the political and social behaviors of some secular Jews such as HW aggravate many non-Jewish Americans and contribute to antisemitism.
No thanks, I’ll stick with a Ruger LCR and not buy a Taurus snubbie.
“They’re going to wish they weren’t alive after I’m done with them” movie producer Harvey Weinstein
— oops. Instant backfire. I already wish you weren’t alive. <— meant that not as a threat but meant in the same spirit as he.
yeah because they’re so much crime happening with registered lawfully owned machine guns. Oy Vey the hypocrisy!!
Have her tell Taurus to make a friggin compact officer’s 1911. Jeez they make a decent full size 1911 and just leave it at that? Come on already!
Jeremy S. demonstrates the extent of how out of touch he is with one simple statement he made: “I wasn’t aware of scarcity with their products. They seem to keep up with demand fine.”
I buy Ruger hardware exclusively…lots of it. And they, evidenced personally by the backorder situation of many of their popular models and by their own admission, are way, WAY behind in fulfilling orders, going so far as to purchase a new manufacturing facility just to catch up
.

http://www.guns.com/2013/05/01/sturm-ruger-firearms-backlog-hits-a-record-breaking-2-million/
Good!
Wow. Kind of shocking, really.
Don’t federal laws supercede state/city laws in situations like this? Interesting. Learn something new about NFA items almost every day.
The governing bodies of each school would have to grant permission for a teacher or staff member to carry a concealed gun.
There’s the flaw in the bill. How many would actually do this?
And how many teachers who want to carry wouldn’t because asking for permission could lead to scorn and intimidation?
That was my thinking. Lincoln and Omaha, the only major population centers in the state, are not all that gun friendly. Omaha even has a city handgun registry. I can see some of the rural districts “allowing” teachers to jump through hoops and carry, but probably not where the vast majority of NE children attend school.
I thought that the Gun Free School Zone Act already allowed people with a license to carry a gun (such as a handgun permit) to carry that licensed gun in school zones, unless otherwise restricted by the state. Is this not the case?
Nope – you can drop off or pick up a student at a school, or drive through while carrying, but you can’t actually stop, work, attend an event or meeting, or do any other activity within a victim disarmament zone.
Say ‘what’ again.
Yea bring it. BTW, anyone remember what the gun from Runaway Jury was supposed to be. I wonder what scarry fake gun will Harvey use this time?
This will be no different than Michael Moore propaganda film “Fahrenheit 9/11” which was full of edited in lies and untruths…Stand Fast and We Shall Prevail…
A freaking men. Both of my parents were teachers and I guarantee you if they taught in this day and age they would push for in school carry. They treated every student as their own child and would have done everything possible to protect their students.
While Ruger does make good, and some great guns, they are the masters of “re-inventing”…
As a member of Women’s Shooting league, do shooting on the move, multiple target, from behind a barrier
50 rounds to warm up, then 100 rounds on the move, twice a month. Lot more fun than shooting a still, sitting duck target!. About 300 rounds total, per month, now you know why I shoot a Ruger SR .22lr pistol or sometimes a Ruger 95 double action 9mm pistol. So no DisThunder, you are not the only one that practices regularly active shooter drills
COOL and is it 3006 and will it still use surplus BAR magazines…? Someone please test it and report back …
You might want to pack a lunch there Weinstein; it’s liable to be an all-day job.
A reminder dear friends, It’s not about the gun, it’s not about the “law”, it’s about controlling us.
It is both stupid and wasteful to have to define “person” in every section of law that uses the term. If they wanted to excluded trusts, they should have explicitly said so, as in, “person (except for trusts)…”
Since “person” is defined elsewhere in state law, that meaning should carry throughout.
The sheeple have once again elected the mental midgets.
Good shotguns are worth every penny. The balance and trigger can make hitting targets almost effortless. Hope to try one of these out.
Half-assed marketing plan, inadequate production plan, but an interesting product you’ll never get.
Omg, I just plugged “Beryl” into google.translate, Polish-to-English. It came back as “Kel-Tec.” Huh. Curious, that.
Just looks funny on that carbine, with the optic taking up the entire top all the way to the end of the handguard, but for 18x I guess you gotta have that much glass.
So Im totally a layman and will openly admit it, but I had to look up for a second focal plane optic was, interesting read though.
Sounds cool. I really like companies positioned as value propositions. That is, ones who make a quality product that may not be cutting edge and may not incorporate every bell and/or whistle, but which nonetheless does what consumers expect it to do and doesn’t carry sky high price tag. Not everyone is kicking down doors in Khandahar and has the taxpayers’ credit card in their wallet. This sounds like a great offering, without being so cheap as to be a rippoff.
Yup. Especially with the warranty.
I just went over to Timney’s web site and it looks like they are available and shipping right now, at least, I took my order all the way to entering my CC and no word on being “unavailable” …
FWIW.
This may be helpful. The length of pull on mine is a touch too short. But then again I think I’ll wait to find a stock made from wood. Wood always looks better on a rifle.
Looks like a Uzi version 2014.
if you are too dangerous to have a firearm, then you are too dangerous to be loose on the streets; we already have laws for involuntary commitment for those who are a danger to themselves and others, and you can’t have a gun in the loony bin.
If you aren’t a danger to yourself and others, then none of your rights should be infringed.
If you were a danger, but it is determined that you aren’t now and have been released, there’s no justification for losing any rights.
That’s not necessarily true. For instance, a mental age of nine might be a sensible barrier to firearm ownership, or schizophrenia, as irresponsible behaviour can go with the territory.
However, either of the above might be just fine walking the three blocks from the assisted living situation to the store or a sheltered workshop.
While neither of the above is scary per se, firearms likely shouldn’t enter the equation.
I don’t see the need for a specific law, however; via due process they can now suspend any and all rights as “needed.”
Not sensible.
Anybody know for sure how the on/off/brightness is done on this unit? Website is quite lacking in that regard.
The ability of big government to waste money continues to impress. I have a free solution for the bureaucratic dipsh!ts: the 2nd Amendment. I can’t claim the idea, because it was established by greater men than me, and it is as relevant today as it ever was.
They are going to have to do so serious mental gymnastics to miss the fact that concealed carry permit holders have lower arrest rates and greater firearms accuracy than police officers. I predict that the end result will be – wait for it – another government program. Sad.
“I predict that the end result will be – wait for it – another government program.”
And that surprises you because … ?????
That is standard operating procedure for government. They either create a problem in the first place or find ways to exacerbate an existing problem and then they offer a solution that requires … wait for it … more government.
Government doesn’t oppose armed citizens in schools because they hate armed citizens. (Well actually they do but work with me.) Government opposes armed citizens in schools because that leaves government out of the loop and makes government less relevant. Saying it another way, government will always oppose a solution that leaves government out.
Why do I get the impression the Republicans wanted to spend $25 million on this, and the Democrats wanted to spend $50 million, so they compromised and appropriated $75 million?
That row of scopes is worth more than my house.
What is the trigger reach like on the R51? It looks awfully far from the thumb recess to the trigger face. I have very small hands and need a very short trigger reach. A good way for me to illustrate my hand size is that I can get all four fingers on the grip of my Shield with the 7 round magazine in place. The pinky hangs off a bit (about 20%), but it does have purchase.
The Polish made 1911 “clone” you all speak of is not a clone of the 1911 at all. It’s called the pistolet wz. 35 Vis. It was loosely based on the 1911 but had a lot of differences internally.
I always had a passion for firearms. It was born through hate, but turned into a love. Its really therapeutic, the silence.
Using that definition, we have “mass shootings” everyday here in Chicago, only they never get reported because the victims aren’t politically exploitable.
Illustrating Chicago Crime, Murder and Mayhem at heyjackass.com
Because they’re fun to shoot. Because they’re fascinating little machines. Because shooting is a science, an art, and entertainment rolled into one. Because gun ownership is my right and my heritage as an American.
Mostly because shooting guns is really, really fun.
Hmmm…
Do I in fact love guns? I like them, appreciate them on several levels and recognize numerous reasons why they are needed, but still?
I suppose that I do, because I place the wellbeing of guns as a collective entity and right above my personal wellbeing, which is a criterion I use to define love, or “in love.”
Not that I’m in love with guns, but these are some of the ways in which I use the criterion.
As to some aspects of firearms which I seriously appreciate, guns are:
• among the best examples of the machining and engineering arts;
• frequently beautiful objects in and of themselves, whether artistically, functionally or both;
• a lot of fun, and a point of commonality between me and many others;
• useful to put food on the table;
• fascinating – technically, philosophically and historically.
Additionally, they are:
• necessary to ones continued existence in a dangerous world;
• needed as a hedge against totalitarianism;
• a basic component of the American character;
• mine (a few, anyway) and merit my consideration and care.
As a collective entity, arms needed for defence and continuation of oneself and ones family, property and community, and our right thereto, are more important to me than myself. Without the former, the latter are ephemeral at best.
Me, it’s a simple issue of Freedom.
I’m working on fusing neutrinos into a solid from which to make bullets, so that I can carry out some massless shootings.
They’d not even need rifling to induce spin…
I want some of what she’s smokin’.

Hi there to every one, since I am really keen of reading
this blog’s post to be updated regularly. It carries nice material.
