“I don’t want to shoot him but if somebody comes here, sure I will shoot him. I’ll shoot him and I will kill him. If I’ve got to shoot my gun, you’re not going to believe it, these bullets will go all over his body. So next time, the people won’t do that to anybody else.” – Van Dyke Liquor Market owner Steve Bahoura quoted in Detroiter Sleeps In Liquor Store With Shotgun To Prevent Robberies [via detroit.cbslocal.com]

  1. I’d like to buy some of the real estate depicted in that video. (nice!) Then kick out all the hipsters. That’s my America.

  2. Good for him – hard working, supporting his family, taking care of and protecting his own, and probably an all around good guy. Gold Star for him.

  3. In regards to cops present during the biker attack on the NY man, the SCOTUS has ruled that police have no duty to provide protection to any individual citizen, only a duty to generally uphold the law.

The law of the land says that police are not liable or responsible to protect you or your family… You’re on your own, act accordingly.

  4. this is one of the STUPIDEST shows ever. those MORON’S at red jacket must be related to those retards over at ” FINDING BOOTFOOT”. before you can work at red jacket you must take a aptitude test to see if your STUPID enough to work there. also you must take a genealogy test to make sure your family tree doesn’t have more then 3 branches. Will is the biggest ass i’ve ever seen. Stephanie is a biscuit away from looking like Roseanne Barr or Rosie O’donnell, she’s already fattened up her retarded Gomer Pyle looking husband. with any luck they will blow themselves up at the end of their show.

  5. Perhaps the LEOs in the gang were undercover or off duty. At the end of the day, I don’t believe it matters. When they failed to protect the citizen they were in dereliction of duty. Disgusting. I heard that one of the LEOs is one desk duty following the mandatory turn in of his badge and gun. Apparently that cop reported the incident several days later. He didn’t intervene for fear of blowing his cover. When someone gets a gang beating, that’s time to blow cover.

There are many pro gun tales within the SUV vs MC with LEOs story. For me the takeaway is that LEOs did not protect the citizen in the “Gun Free” paradise of NY. Gun control is about people control – taking power from the taxpayers and giving it to the government and politically connected. I debriefed my wife about the incident. Well be buying another Taser battery, and looking into a Smith Bodyguard .380 or Ruger LCP for her. We live in a world where people are not bound by the law, and it takes more than law to stop them.

  6. Centerfire ammo is becoming more available, albeit expensive, here in southern AZ. .22LR is still very scarce, and still selling at stupid high prices at the gun shows. Walmart gets small quantities in, and the prices are reasonable (by today’s standards) but sells out by 7 a.m.

  7. The fact that rogue States like Somalia have them and other nations that pose risk i.e. Russia and China is exactly one of the reasons behind the 2nd Amendment.
